Hi all,

I guess the saying: "if muhammad does not go to the mountain, the mountain will go to muhammad" is very relevant here. The events of the past few days have really taken it's toll on a number of us, to the extent that some have decided to frequent here less, and in some cases go on self exile, as a result.

Seun has made his mistakes which I am hoping will not come back to haunt him. We are on the verge of choosing a moderator and the way things are going, we might end up joining Seun in this mistake by allowing the wrong persons take the mantle of leadership because of our refusal to act.

I went through the list of potential mods (i.e those who indicated interest) and I can only recognize just two regulars: HBG and mkmyers, the rest I think are not from here. I don't think the job should go to those we cannot vouch for because this is not a time to experiment with 'strange' faces.

I have tried to prepare a list of regular members with what I think are their strengths and weaknesses. This definitely will most likely be biased because I am the only one involved in its preparation.

I hope this thread will be respected and members who get a mention would see it fit to explain, in clear terms, why they cannot indicate interest to be mods.

That's a very good reason but is it not possible to create the time? What is needed basically is a good phone/PC and access to the internet. One need not be here 24-7. Manmustwac and JeSoul have jobs and they combined both beautifully.

I don't have a problems with muslims and i have a lot of muslim friends and relatives. What i detest is the extremist and terrorist amongst them. In the case of maclatunji you are right i can't get along with someone of his level of hypocrisy and intolerance. As per date i registered on NL i resgistered with my original I.D sometimes in early 2007. pastorkun is a later day moniker. Finally i would like to recommend Stricklymi for the post of moderator he seems to have all the qualities a moderator should have, he has the ability to accomodate all views and is not in any way biased in his posts.
