THE WORDS YOU HEAR

Memory verse:1 Sam 17:16 And the Philistine drew near and presented himself forty days, morning and evening.

Who have you been listening to, what have they been saying and what has your response been? When Adam told God that he was naked, God said, “Who TOLD YOU that you were naked?" ( Gen 3:11). God immediately recognized that Adam had been listening to someone other than Himself.

The power of words cannot be overemphasized. The Israelites who had fought and won numerous battles in the past were reduced to cowering cowards at the presence of one Philistine. It was not Goliath's size but his words that had them paralyzed (1 Sam 17:11).

For forty days and nights the Israelites woke to the taunting words of Goliath and went to bed hearing the same words. Goliath had successfully convinced the soldiers that they were nothing more than servants of Saul. He made them forget all God had achieved through them in the past!

David heard the same words the Israelites did but rather than freeze in fear, he recognized Goliath's words for what they were - lies. He also knew that words were arrows employed in spiritual warfare so he decided to fire back.

These are not days to be silent about what you believe. You must have a rapid response for every word fired at you. Do not regard any negative word as a joke but immediately refute it with the truth of God's word. You might have been told how unlikely it is for you to get that appointment seeing that you know no one in the organization. This is the fact but it is not your truth nor should it be your reality. Your response should be that you know God and He has the heart of everyone in that organization in His hands. Always have a ready response!

CONFESSION: I live above and beyond natural circumstances. I exercise dominion over situations, cast out demons and heal the sick in the name of Jesus!

PRAYER: I render every negative word spoken over me and my family ineffective in the name of Jesus.
