On naija levels, a woman that drinks and smokes, especially a young woman, is a BIG no no! The first thing a guy is thinking when he's approaching you is, will my family accept this girl?
Tell me a family that accepts a wife that drinks and smokes?

Besides no one wants to marry a liability, you don't want to be locked into a vicious cycle of helping her to quit, the attendant diseases that come with smoking, atherosclerosis, stroke, liver cirrhosis, lung cancer e.t.c. + raising children in an environment where "mommy" smokes = children that will probably pick up the habit at age 14 or 15! That is a big disaster!

That is no argument. The psychological implications of having a spouse that smokes and drinks is enough to give you hypertension. She can't come around your family, she can't go to church (naija levels), she can't be seen in some social cycles.

Besides as Bolex said, even if i agree to marry you, the stumbling block is right at home waiting to take even a small whiff of that cigarette smoke! unless i am willing to be disowned by my family, there is no way i can marry you and losing my family for one woman who smokes and drinks is just nor worth it!

Real men do NOT forget their roots. A river that forgets its source will surely dry up. Boys do not care what others think about the choices they make, real men remember to cross check with friends and family before they take lifetime decisions like relationships or marriage. it is a sign they take such relationships serious. Boys don't care what daddy or mummy thinks so long as you both can have a "good time". Sadly such good times never last.

Cigarette smoking has also been implicated in cardiovascular diseases such as stroke, hypertension and atherosclerosis. Cigarette smoke is the most potent risk factor for COPD, the fourth highest killer in the USA. Environmental cigarette smoke is also implicated in SIDS(sudden infant death symptom aka crib death).
