Holyrule:

Tuition fee is 22,500 plus, Speakin δƒ estimates one needs to get hold δƒ about 40k plus cuz δƒ course registrations, Returnin students pay 15k as tuition fee minus †̥ђe̶̲̥̅ course registration costs inclusive, So i̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ conclusion to questions, Freshers shud have about 40k plus to gwt started wif wverythin necessary fot admission and course registration for first semester. Thanks

15K5 is compulsory fees and not tuition, you pay that at the beginning of each new session (first semester), then register (2k for 2units and 2k5 for 3units) ur courses and exams (1k/course ) later. At the beginning of its second semester you pay N2k5 as compulsory fees and register ur courses and later exam reg.

Please we need more information on concerning tution fees.

Do they charge tution base on credit hour or Number of courses being offered by students

Cos since this Great institution is for the working class i assume it should be of a high cost compared to anyother FederAL University in Nigeria.

I viisited their office at Agidingbi Ikeja last week and i overheard them tell a fresher the cost of tution is close to 55 or 60k about that range

Please ya ll give us sure infos onhere
This will help prospectives planing to enroll cos this is a journey one should start but must first plan ahead ,

consider well before embarking
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by earlymann: 8:49pm On Mar 02, 2012

These people that spent 7 years are the ones that do the courses according to their capacity. If you register the average no of courses allocated for each semester, then you can graduate in four years.

Matriculation Fees- 1,500.00
I.D. Card- 500.00

3-You pay for course reg and exam reg per semester.
course registration is 2,000 naira or more depending on the credit unit of the course
exam registration is 1,000 naira per course

on average you can register up to 11 courses per semester= 22,000 naira
on average you can register up to 11 courses for exams per semester= 11,000 naira

You're right on the 7-year thingy. I know some people who defer this current semester, some take fewer courses and they won't tell why they are spending more years. However, the compulsory fees at the new session is N15,500 (N2,500 for semester activation,N10,000 for ICT & N3,000 for Library),N2,500 for its second semester and don't forget N8,000 (N3,000 for JAMB regularization fee and N5,000 for results verification) to be paid at 400level. Admission is on in every semester, NO UTME, YES O'level. You mainly gonna study on your own.

After May/June 2012 exams, I would have done 4 semesters and do my final and 5th thereafter for a four course that I started 2009. BSc Computer Science involves 125 units (They say it is 120 but I have 125 core units in my portal) to graduate but I would amass 131 units (I took three 2-unit elective courses)-coming from 9 Math courses, 5 Physics courses, 5 GST courses and the rest are CIT courses totaling 55 courses. I must have officially spent N250,000 by NOV/DEC 2012 graduation time. This favors those who work but we are still the guinea pigs, those coming after will enjoy more.

I registered 15 courses this semester, although no exam on one-it is IT (industrial Attachment) and my last semester houses 11 courses that I won't do exams on three (IT phase2,Seminar & Project). That semester will gulp N60,000. Am off now for my TMAs. Yeah you do TMAs four times against a course. I hope they add the 30% nominal value to our final grades this time.

Just go to the Study Centre nearest to you and you will get all the details there. You may have to wait it out as admission of new students had ended till June or thereabout.

I must seriously commend the great master mind behind this blog. you guys have done quite a nice job on noun, I am a noun student who is convinced that the project will eventually work.
infact I enrolled in 2007 to study law partly to prove at Law school that Noun products can give the Unilag, UI, uniben and etc guys a good run for their money. presently i am in 400level just one more year to go. God help you fellow Law students when we meet at the law school. prepare to meet the stuff noun is made up of. please dont take it personal just my own way of proving that now have what it takes to churn out the best student imaginable.
for those of you interested in studying at noun, please kindly try the next door if you dont appreciate what hardwork involves. i can assure you all that you can cheat your way through waec and neco gain cheap admission at noun since there is no jamb or post utme. however the e-exams and Tma will espose you at the long run so either learn to work hard before coming on board noun or go to where you can sort lecturers. So help us JEHOVAH the almighty God who loats malpractice of all sort.
