JMOI: Can someone here mention any innovative or outstanding feature in Tecno's Phantom? E.g. Apple's Iphone 5s has the fingerprint-based TouchID that allows you to lock your phone with your own fingerprint instead of a password or a code. That's what point number 3 is talking about. Tecno needs to be more innovative and come up with their own bright ideas and also develop a future-packed flagship product similar to what Samsung nd Apple have done with their Galaxy and Iphone. Nokia is even trying it out with Lumia, Tecno should also give it a shot.
U seem not to understand the major reason why many are opting for tecno phones.

Listen up dude, price difference matters a lot,
More so, if there's much difference in OS, i dont tink most peeps care to know as long as what they are receiving in tecno suit them.

If samsung and iphone were the only cell fone manufacturers in d world, i bet, many wont afford their fones due to price tag.

Same u wud go round to call tecno users paupers who really can't afford to own a smart fone making round.

Now that tecno is carving a niche for itself in terms of cost and availability of the same OS currently in samsung, and matches d iphone in functionality, why are u complaining?

Tecno has come to stay and no centrifugal forces can pull it down.

Heck i dont own a tecno but cant stop loving the enthusiasm shown by it fanboys.

No time for inferiority complex

The question is this
do they manufacture this fones in nigeria as they made people belief?

do they listen to their customers ?
if it is for nigeria truly and africa, why is it difficult for them to aligh their specifications to suite us?

There is a difference between "Built for Africa" and "Made in Africa".

Tecno is built for Africa, they never said they are manufacturing in Nigeria.

Check Ur facts well.

Lots and lots. I cannot list all of them here. According to some reviews I read about Galaxy S4, the phone has an inbuilt thermometer, hygrometer and barometer. Each of the three sensors is designed to
measure the environmental factors immediately surrounding the location of the smart phone. The thermometer measures
temperature while the barometer measure atmospheric pressure and a hygrometer analyzes the humidity content of the air. This is the first of its kind and that's innovation.

JeffreyJamez: This Op funny sha.......Apple and Tecno no be mate o!!! See ehn......if tecno pack every every put for one phone you think you will see that phone at 50k or 45k?.....you think say them no get sense?...ok wait......check this out...tecno brings out a phone with 3G,4G, 32gb, 2gb Ram, Snapdragon 800 chip, Amoled screen, Aluminium body.....and you expect that phone to be 45k?......they price their phone according to the cost of production...Tecno is for the Low-end users.

The Apple "low-end" you are mentioning you know how much for market? 120k for iphone 5C......

Leave tecno alone, they have a target market and that traget market is not complaining!!!
There is no law forbidding Tecno from building high-end phones even though their focus is on cheap phones. It will get them noticed in the Western world where the real money is.

Lmao.....una funny gan o!!! All these Innovations how many una dey use on a daily basis?.....heck....I used a S4 and God knows I never used Barometer, and all those metre metre wey you mention....

Its all a matter of what you want...you don't expect a resercher to be using all those Barometer and ish you just mentioned, but a Doctor or an engineer will find it very useful.....me l like Big screens and I love to sketch on the go, now since tecno can't provide that, I'd rather save money and buy me a NOTE 3 instead (even na 6months e take to gather the money)....but if tecno (or any other brand) can launch a device with SIMILAR features FOR LESS.....what the heck?.....I d go for it.....ITS ALL ABOUT CHOICE. #PEACE

even the old S3 had those sensors. now "they" have taken the name "s3" and made a caricature of it.

Lol, your blood is hot. Chill, but you will agree with me that if Apple or Samsung decide to make powerful smartphones that will cost around 20k Tecno is out of the game. There is a possibility that they will do that. I want Tecno to start thinking ahead, to prepare themselves for such a scenerio so that they'll know how to tackle it when the time comes.

There's not a Snowball's Chance in Hell that Samsung or apple will launch a Device with mouth-watering specs and sell it for 20,000naira!!! Hell will freeze over that day!!!!

And as for tecno....they know they have no chance in the western world, that's why they chose Africa cos they know majority of the population here can't afford premium devices.....even if they make a Phone with mouth watering specs, No-one in the western world will blink at them...so they should just remain where they are for now!!!

You can't be too sure about that. Everybody wants to make more money. There is an intense battle btw Apple and Samsung over who will dominate the smartphone scene so both of them will seize every opportunity to expand.

Barometer, Thermometer et al which one was created by Samsung? These things have been around for years. Anyway, I stated sometime that Tecno simply understands what they want and went for it, Nigeria has one of the largest though poor telecommunications market in the world. Somebody wrote somewhere that Tecno cannot go to India, it did in July. And for everyone's information, three of the most popular phone models in India, Micromax A100, Lava Iris 501 and the Prestigio 5000 are exact replicas of the N7 to the last detail. We are Ok with Tecno and we only ask for OTA upgrade in the future.

If you want tecno to produce samsung equivalent phones(I mean in terms of hardware, smart features, amoled scrn n all dat)for such ridiculously low prices, you're nt bin fair...but I stil think they shd step up to Gionee's or zen ultraphones level with beta hardware,OTA syn, etc.
Re: Why Tecno May Not Last Long In Nigeria by samieiyke(m): 7:18am On Oct 13, 2013
I think JMOI has made some point. Our dearly beloved Tecno is recycling products. Most of their products are either an original htc or samsung blueprint but with a more friendly price. They really should do something mind blowing or more original (something dat hasn't been done already), this will help them allot...

And before you rain insult on me, I am a fan of tecno nd that's what I use so that's y am telling them the truth cos I'd hate for them to get knocked out of the market.
