[ SUNDAY MORNING]

A deep ringing from my phone drew me from the land of sleep. I opened my eyes. Oh it already sunday morning, i stretch out my hand to pick the caller, as i peep to check who was calling, i saw mrs Grace.

MRS GRACE: " Get prepared for church am coming "

ME: " OK ma "

she ended the call immediately after i had replied her. I stood erect, i was feeling a little bit dizziness, and i also needed to sleep more for sometimes. I still force myself to stand up from the foam, my eyes were dim, i dash into the toilet to release the gases that was in my stomach, and i later entered the bathroom to take a cool shawer. I got myself prepared and waited for her.
Few munites later, mrs Grace came as she promised that sunday morning when she called me by 7:30am. She was dressed in a gentle men/ ladies style, red jacket, red trouser, red shoes, white t-shirt, white hand bag and white hair tie, that showed her body size, and the dress also complimented her fair colour skin. Me on the other hand, i dressed up on red t-shirt, black trouser, and a red {air-force shoes}, that nearly matches her own fashion style of dressing.
My mother too was preparing herself, she was actually busy struggling with the wrapper she wanted tying around her waist. Mrs grace move closer and assist my mum, while i plug in my ear phone to listen to music. I could'nt seat to watch them prepare, so i walk outside to wait for her (mrs grace). Mrs Grace finally came out looking so shiny and captivated in my eyes, sometimes i do seat down to ask myself this question " WHY IS THIS WOMAN SHOWING LOVE AND CARE TO ME ", that was my thought anytime i look on her angelic face. She smiled at me and said

MRS GRACE: " You look so cute prince "

ME: " thanks ma ", i said acting confused and i said this in my mind,why this woman de put eye on me sef, today na sunday oh, so better package wel.

As we moved on for church, she came closer to me and put her right hand on neck, we were of the same height, and People who saw us that morning started wondering if she was my sister.
We arrived at the church premises, before we entered the church, she gave me two 500 naira notes (500+500=1000) for my offering. I appreciated her, and she answer me by giving me a peck on my cheek.
As the service went on, the pastor of THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH stood up and made an announcement that if anyone as testimony to give, let him or her come out.
My mind alerted me that something will go wrong, but i pay no attention on my thoughts. Untill when it come to pass...

Unfortunately for me, Mrs Grace stood up from among the congregation and move to the front of the alter, she collected a mic and said

MRS GRACE" PRAISE..PRAIse...praise..the LORD..!", she shouted.

CONGREGATION: " Ha-la-lu-jah....!", the all answered in unison, while some added fun to it by jumping up from one place to the other. Mrs grace started her long speech

MRS GRACE: " My name is grace bla bla., i came here for my teaching practice, mean while God has been so good to me, he kept me alive to see this days, so in that case i would love to sing a song of praise to him, i therefore called on PRINCE to come and sing with me "

when i heard the name PRINCE to SING with HER, i decided going out that very moment, but when i turn to look behind me, i could see ushers standing close to the door. Sometimes the ushers act like people who as taken alomo to church, so i changed my mind. I sat down frozen, shy, i was nervous, and my heart beat raised from the former 80 to 100 (fast heart beat), i nearly got an heart attach. I could'nt move anymore, i hide my face, untill when a male voice supported her

PASTOR: " Pls whose so ever that person is, why not come out and rejoice with her! "

I slowly walk to the front of the alter, when i collected the mic from one of the ushers to face the congregation ; i nearly fainted, i was in front of 2000 crowds. They all focus their attention on me as if i just won a presidental election. Mrs grace sang with an angelic voice, smooth sounding tune, and a slow song that moved the heart, while i stood there dump founded, i only bit my lips pretending to be singing too. After we had finished singing, i dropped in my first offering, walk outside to cool my nerves. Just near athe church premises, i sighted a carvery. I move in, ordered for a cool bottle of sprite drink. Mrs grace came out too, she stood from far to see me and she came to were had relaxed.

Mrs Grace enter and sat closer to me. I clear my throat and said

ME: " why will i sing again, when your voice had already taken over everything, i only stood there as your bass man ", i said laughing out loud.

MRS GRACE: " but you should have tried singing too. Why did you disgrace me now?"

ME: " It not my fault, i still remember when my song books got eaten by rats ", i said sarcastically.

Mrs Grace laughed and laughed, before she ordered for her own bottle of cock. We sat there to gist, she then offered to take us to somewhere better, but before then we walk together the church. We got inside the church and continued the service untill the closing. After the service, she boarded a cap to move us around town. How proud i was, as at the time we got to MR BIGGS that afternoon. MR BIGGS was well ventilated, it as many things that can keep customers stay the more. We ate sallat rice, big fried chicken, and an apple juice to digest the food. after the delicious meal, i bent forward and said

MRS GRACE: " thank God. This place looks nice, right ?"

ME: " Yah. I love this place, i wish to stay here forever ", i said laughing, while throwing myself backward to relax.

MRS GRACE: " we better leave here, before you change your mind to stay here the more "

Mrs grace paid for all the expenses, as we both walk out from MR BIGGS. By 6:30pm, it was a little bit dark, We boarded a taxi back home. I followed her to the hostel and relax for sometime, before i informed her that i was leaving.
Mrs Grace escorted me to the school gate. when We reached the gate exit, i told her to stay back, but she refused.

MRS GRACE: " Am scared of sleeping alone in that hostel, and besides i have no room mate to stay with me "

ME: " but ma, you need to relax after stressing yourself today "

MRS GRACE: " no oh., i cant go in there and stay alone ", she said showing face of sadness.

Sunday night was an amazing blissful night. I reluctantly stood up from my bed to relax in the parlour. I switch on the televison set, i sat on the couch to watch BBC NEWS how many people got killed in a bomb blast and houses destroyed by the American soldiers .

ME: " Na wa for this people oh., de want make this world end quickly abi ", i said as i tried to straight my body.

I felt dizziness as my eyes got dim , and i slept off. Sweet memories flows through my mind as i relax on the couch to sleep, i adjusted myself in other to balance well on the couch as i smile while i recalling how Mrs Grace gave me 1000 naira for my offering. It was a memorable and eventful moment we shared together indeed. I wake up later to check the time and it was still not yet dark outside as i so much expected it to be, i felt desperate to stroll out for a while. I could hear sounds of frogs as i moved outside to seat on a bench. I sat there alone thinking how i nearly disgrace mrs grace when she beckon on me to sing with her as i pretended to be singing. A wave of smile appeared on my face as i lick my lips...

I stayed outside the compound counting the stars in the skies wondering how Abraham manage to count many stars without repeating. I sigh and lay on the wooden bench. My phone rang the first time by 11:30pm that night as i laid hopelessly. I ignored it at first and it rang again the second time, i sat up to bring out my phone from my pocket. I click on the keyboards of the phone to brighten up the light and i found out that mrs grace was the person calling. I scrolled to the phone book and pick her name and gave her a 2 second flash, without blinking of an eye she called back immediately. I picked her call

ME: " Hello! "

MRS GRACE: " Naughty boi, were did you keep your phone ?", she asked playfully.

ME: " madam, i was asleep when you called, i just saw your miss calls and i flash back ", i said while yawning.

ME: " Huh, really!, so whats the issue if i may ask ?". She kept quite for a while before answering
