His wealth of experience will enable him play an advisory role to the younger politicans.

shymexx: Just take a deep breathe and look at the comment pattern on this thread, yet we wonder why someone said the average IQ of Nigerians is around 70 - borderline retardation. Here is a man who's doing serious politicking and what Henry Kissinger would call, "realpolitik." However, rather than discuss what the meeting is about - you've duffers talking about the tosh they have been indoctrinated with, to malign the man.

At the end of the day, anything is definitely better than the utterly inept and corrupt GEJ...and anyone who would rid Nigeria's finances off the hands of Ngozi Iweala, an economic hit-woman, who committed biggest the ponzi scheme against a sovereign country and robbed Nigeria $6 billion - should be supported. I don't know this man but he definitely can't be worse than GEJ and his fedora hat - never!

If you think whoever rules Nigeria isn't ordained by the powers-that-be, then, you must be having a laugh.
Nigga, go back to your mama hair saloon or better still keep quiet if you know nothing about Nigerian politics. British government is the architect of Nigeria's problem. Fhuck the ugly and stingy Brits and their terrorist slaves in Northern Nigeria.

I think Yorubas born and unborn are programmed to serve the Fulanis. Same Nigga that sees nothing wrong in Abacha's dictatorship is who you all are worshipping? Why can't you guys clamor for a bright mind like Fashola?

I used to think Buhari was a saint until I did some research on him. If he is an angel as yorubas thinks he is, why didnt he ask abacha to pardon Diya or conduct an election? Only gullibles amongst your lot will see him as a man without dirty baggage. Nigeria needs young brains and not washed up clowns.

How religious tolerant and unity icon is Buhari? Put politics aside and say the truth as it because you are calling Buhari's weakness his strength. We're no kids on NL neither people with paucity of historical facts. However Buhari has his strong sides but if it's on ground of being icon of unity and religious tolerant as the writter put it, then Buhari is not qualified to rule Nigeria.

Really smiley smiley smiley Guys we need to understand the issue of north south, Christianity islam, etc is used by our leaders to continue to dominate and loot our treasury. The earlier we understand a poor man in Katsina is the same as a poor man in Bayelsa the better for us. We need to move beyond religion and ethnicity, if not for us but for our children and grandchildren. We can do it!!! One love.

Wsdm: Is it not even ripe the Northerners supports the Separation of this country so that everyone can face their problems and stop this hate game. Hardly will you see a Southern Christian that accept a Northern Muslim for who he is. The Northern Christians are even very moderate in their ways. We in the North knows this. If not for ethnic crises between the Hausa in Kaduna and the Kaje and the Fulanis in Jos and the Birons, Muslims and Christians in the North have relatively peaceful co-existence.AT LEAST CATHOLIC AND ECWA CHURCHE the predominant churches of the Northern Christians stands exceptionally in moral degrees than the ragtags churches the Southern Christians have brought. These so called southern Christians have become cancaworm on peace between Muslims and Christians in the North. So let us support them to go away and carry their illicit lives style they tag to civilization along.

Well, the Brits didn't loot more than $3 trillion from Nigeria since independence - did they?

The Brits aren't the ones living large in Nigeria while the poor and disadvantaged are dying - are they?

The Brits aren't the ones causing all the plane crash in Nigeria - are they?

You can blame everything that happened in the past on Great Britain, however, since the empire collapsed - the Brits have been the most open-minded people in the world.

My lady, how old were you when he was military head of State?

I saw him live give a speech at a university when he was hos then. He said all the right things but went ahead to close several Radio Nigeria branches, cancelled Lagos metro plan and generally went ahead closing and cancelling things without any decent or progressive ideas of his own.
Or threat and soaking baboon and monkey in blood is the great idea to take us forward?

The little legacy credited to him were even Idiagbon's ideas (WAI, environmental etc).

May be those too young in his regime can be fooled.

Interesting. Lots of issues you raised and we might have to to just take them one after the other.

CLOSURE OF MEDIA HOUSES
The Buhari regime's media law was about publishing unsubstantiated news items. This is to avoid mis-informing the public, afterall "nothing sells like bad news" - Charles Tatum. It is in record that no media house was shut during this regime. However many journalists and news editors were jailed for not being able to give credence to their reports. It was really a harsh law by all ramification. I'm not plea-bargaining but IBB, Abacha, Obasanjo, Yaradua and GEJ all totally shut down media houses over slight pretexts too. It's more damning when you think of the high-handedness under civilian "rules". The recent news on the gold-plated iPhone comes to mind. Its purely speculative and an aggregate of misinformation. It had nothing to do with the State, so why drag govt into it? That's why gag laws are imposed by some govts eg LASG to control information dissemination.

LAGOS METRO PLAN AND ITS CANCELLATION
Be right back. Kinda busy....

Buhari is a responsible Nationalist. A man of high moral standing and impeccable record of honesty. he is a man who walks his talk. personal wealth has never been his ambition and will never be. he is the Mandela of Nigeria and PDP is the Africaan government.
of course as an "Area fada" i don't expect you to like such a man.

I'm not really a big fan of the man. I believe Nigeria needs a new set of leaders. Young, articulate, intelligent and energetic leaders - with a new mindset, that's quintessentially African. However, I can't hate on the power-play - it shows the man knows his onions when it comes to realpolitik.

According to Nigerians from all around the federation they have waited for this day since the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorate since 1914. shymexx: I don't know who's going to win the 2015 election but GEJ definitely won't be coming back. He has no international support, hence why he's being treated like a leper by the powers-that-be. Obama doesn't rate him. When David Cameron went to Nigeria - he only visited Lagos - and everything he talked about was Lagos.

Dreamers can keep dreaming, but the handwriting is on the wall - the man is pretty much a lame-duck, right about now.
stop saying nonsense.
Gej has no international support?
Are you kidding me?
Is it the same GEJ that was invited by the president of china.
The same GEJ that obama met in Newyork and held a meeting with.
The same GEJ that was given the honour of closing the NYSE by obama.
The same GEJ that was visited by angela merkel in abuja.
David cameron is useless in world politics anyway, though he has met with GEJ at the aso-rock villa many times which is irrelevant as far as am concerned.
