I see u guys have gone far. I couldnt join d challenge cos of my busy schedile for now. But i have copied all d meal recipes (my hand dey pain me o, viewing with my phone and writing in my diet notebook).

@dreams, pls d smoothies, do i jus t add d ugu after washing it clean or pour hot water on it first. I love these new recipes well well cos all d ingridients are easy to get.

Someone told me about cabbage juice. I have tried it twice abd each time it gives me catarr and sour throat. Do u know of a better way of making it.

@all, d bsm should have 'unsulphured' written on it. The common type used for baking doesnt have this written on it.
Re: Recipes For The Fruitful Home by Dreamsinbc(f): 8:24pm On Nov 06, 2013
@Uteh, the ugu should be raw, no blanching.
For the cabbage, I think you should juice it (not blend).
For the black treacle, as long as it doesn't contain sulphur dioxide, it's unsulphured.
*the first choice would be blackstrap, as it contains selenium over the other ingredients contained in black treacle. Black treacle would be a close second

Revelation 10:9-10
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

When we eat food, it is sweet to our mouths but when it gets to our belly and digests using the gastric juices, if we throw it up, we cannot eat it again. But it is that sludge (broken down food) that nourishes our bodies to make us shine physically, after discarding the waste.
You cannot inject egusi soup straight into your bloodstream grin shocked for it cannot be used that way. Neither can you eat digested food or vomit for it will be bitter.

Such is the truth of God's word. God's word is sweet to taste or to say with our mouth (in letters) but when we begin to digest it in our Spirit, it gets broken down to pick out the righteousness of such words which hits us as bitter truth and that is the part that is used to nourish us and is what makes us shine spiritually when we do good works.

When the Word is eaten, the truth hits the belly of the Spirit and it leads to self assessment and to seperation from evil which is often a bitter and tough process but that is why the bible says the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit..Hebrews 4:12

grin,
Loooool. @Twinsgirls, none of the above o. I just dey the care unit in my church and I be daughter of God. I work in my secular '9-5' job.
I just studied that passage today though I had been thinking of bitter sweet since yesterday and how to apply it. I think it is more of meditation and making scriptures come alive to you. And all this is a fruit of my waiting on God.

James 1:3-4
3 Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.
4  But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

There is still more to learn and we keep learning.

And no dey Je-loss, Je-gain abeg. grin

Twinnie, yes, most of the recipes are for 2-4 (2, for african servings, 4, for oyinbo servings. Lol). Double all the ingredients apart from oil to feed more.

AlwaysTrue, I was going to ask that. I pray God gives me this kind of gift so I can share the Word in interesting ways with Zikora and Zuluito.

Re: Recipes For The Fruitful Home by Alwaystrue(f): 7:03pm On Nov 08, 2013
@Twinsgirls, that was so deep. Thanks so much. Amen o. I know God is wonderful and does exceedingly abundantly above what we ask or imagine. My wait was for a reason, I know. We will all testify this season.

@muma, lolz. The word of God is alive...Heb. 4:12. My prayer is we all see God's undeniable glory in our life.

I did not know I will not be so chanced today to post as I usually do early but I think it is all part of the message....right timing:

I Corinthians 12:14-18
14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

Ephesians 4:16
from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

We have all baked @Dreams Banana bread muffin or seen the recipe.
The individual ingredients like oat flour, eggs, ACV, baking soda, pinch of salt do not taste nice if eaten individually but taste better as a whole cooked meal and with this we learn the power of unity and purpose of each ingredient.

When @Dreams said add ACV for it activates the baking soda to make muffins rise, I no hear word, come remove both ACV and soda and the result was obvious....thick muffins that did not rise to the ocassion.

What we go through in life should make us rise up with wings as eagles. Use mockery to rise, use scorn as ladder for success.
Many ingredients are mixed to make us who we are today and we are passed through heat to make us ready like the food we cook and even some ingredients have to be put in at the right time for a certain amount of time to bring out the right smell, taste and look. And that is why the word says:

2 Corinthians 2:15
For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,

Our lives should be a constant sacrifice and pleasantly cooked meal to God with the individual ingredients of sweet, sour, pain and gain all tasting better together in unity.
There is a beauty in seeing all the things of life working together for our good and to the glory of God.

@Venuss, LWKMD. Before you get a juicer, you can use a blender, then sift. A juicer does better work sha. You should get very dry chaff.
I've seen a recipe using carrot chaff, but apart from that sha.. Na chicken feed o!

Re: Recipes For The Fruitful Home by Alwaystrue(f): 11:06am On Nov 09, 2013
Today's spiritual diet is a two course meal, have the appetiser:

Matthew 5:13
You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.

Never has Jesus saying here made more sense to me as it has in my study today:

We are mostly women here so we understand the impact of salt in cooking even if we cannot eat it as it is individually, salt brings taste and activation to meals. We cannot do without it and we add it last to confirm readiness.

Jesus calls those who believe in Him the salt of the earth and what does that mean?
The earth is God's COOKING POT! It is His creation just like we create our meals.
No wonder man (salt) was created on the last day of God's work signifying completion and we add salt often last to season our meals.
That is why when the Pot of food became tasteless because of sin, God wiped the world with water in Noah's time. God was washing His cooking utensils for a new cooking process which we are part of now.

God has made believers to be that which gives taste to His entire creation, so how do you see yourself today? What taste or preservation do you bring to life, circumstances, situations, places and the world around you?
Do you make everything tasty? Or have you lost your strength and quality because you are hoarding God's talents in you because of fear, depression, hopelessness?
What kind of salt are you? Does a little of you light up a cooking or does your tastelessness even affect relationships?
Mark 9:50b
Have salt within yourselves, and be at peace and live in harmony with one another.

The other course will come soon, enjoy this meanwhile. Happy weekend all.

@ all Good morning,

@Alwaystrue thanks. The word of God is indeed alive.

Just had to report on the banana /carrot/coconut smoothie. Meeeehhhhhn! Ko bad gan. Honestly, with dt concoction Ȋ̝̊̅ will never buy icecream again. These things have become staples in my fridge. By the way, Ȋ̝̊̅ am ordinarily lactose intolerant but the coconut milk is wonderful, Ȋ̝̊̅ hv tried almond milk and reacted to it but ds one...wonderful. No reaction at all.

Today, am making the apple/ cucumber/ cabbage smoothie. Pls do Ȋ̝̊̅ need to peel them? Ȋ̝̊̅ mean d apple and cucumber. Also, Ȋ̝̊̅ dn't think ds one will be sweet, can Ȋ̝̊̅ add honey?

My BIL came visiting and brought me ds mini processor or sumtin. D writting is in a language Ȋ̝̊̅ suspect is spanish but the can for putting d stuff is underneath wt a blade. Ȋ̝̊̅ used it for d banana carrot smoothie and it was soooo coooool. Still trying to find out what it is called

@all hv a beautiful day
Re: Recipes For The Fruitful Home by lizzyslaw(f): 12:39pm On Nov 09, 2013
@Dreams,

Ȋ̝̊̅ take it back. No need for honey. It is different from the banana/ carrot / coconut milk shake but it is luvly too. Just like a different flavour of ice cream.

Dreams thank u sooooooo much, u really hv enriched my life.

@all, u must try these smoothies, they r soOooooooooo good for us
Re: Recipes For The Fruitful Home by Dreamsinbc(f): 1:07pm On Nov 09, 2013
Liz, I don't miss ice cream o with those shakes. You can also try pumpkin in place of the banana. You boil the pumpkin first, then freeze and blend. You have to add a little honey to sweeten sha, but it's delicious.
Then try adding a little cocoa powder and honey to the banana shake. Or add peanut butter...the possibilities are endless.

For the apple/cucumber, I prefer peeling the cucumber, but you don't have to.
