Tayerulz: @rationalmind, I also reside at obantoko, fajol precisely. That's by the way though.

Great thread I must say, I've always known for long that prayers are not answered. Religious folks would instead come up with defence mechanisms for unanswered prayers which I don't always welcome. A woman in my church had her only daughter severely sick, several pastors prayed and told her that God said the daughter wouldnt die but in the end, she died. The woman seem to believe less in prayers and prophesies now. Religion has being the strongest weapon of enmity and division amongst mankind. Wish I grew up in one of those European countries where they give little or no meaning to religion. Most Africans practice the religion of their birth, of which they would have full conviction that its the right path to 'God'. I'm afraid there are multiple supreme beings, going by the several different religions we have. What a confusion!

Wow, so close to eachother. I stay around somorin.

Anyway, back to issues you raised. I totally agree with you.

Religious people don't live by their words. On one hand, they posit that God answers all prayers with no caveat. On the other hand, whenever their phone spoils, they take it to the technician. If their car spoils, they take it to the mechanic. Their shoes spoils, they give it to the shoemaker.

I keep wondering why go through all these stresses when you can easily pray your phone, car and shoes back to the functional state.

And when you start pointing out all these to them, they start running around.

The most annoying part of it all is when you or anybody makes success, good fortunes or wealth they will say its "God's handwork. God has done it for you" after all your HARD LABOUR in the course of achieving the success. And if you challenge that notion, they will say u are testing God.

Next thing even if mosquito bite u for night, na because u try God.

Mmmtch!!

Lol, reminds me of something that happened not too long ago.

When my 500L first semester result came out, I had a very excellent result and as a result, I got a favour I won't like to talk about here.

My friend then came to me, he said, look at what God is doing for you despite your unbelief. Despite your agnosticism ( I was an agnostic then) look at the favour you just got.

I then asked him what God was doing to me and where he was when I had a not so good result in 300L.

Your guess is what happened, he suddenly started running around.

These people will never understand success is a result of hard work and atimes strokes of luck.

No God needed
