I choose to ignore your insult! Also, you might as well start a thread and invite 'reasonable' people with the phone, rather than inviting them to this thread. Nuff said!

Oh well... I dont know much about phones, but this one does look good. Also, I think it depends on what you want out of a phone. I am still trying to figure out this phone, and so far, so good smiley

This phone is a far better buy than any Tecno you can find in the market.

16gb is perfectly fine for a budget phone.

Did you miss the part where he said "for me"?? Doesn't matter if it's a budget phone or not. What matters is what he needs. And for me presonally, this phone doesn't match my needs. So its a big no.

The way his statement is worded, he says '16gb is too small' first.
Not going to argue semantics, though. If 16gb is too small for his needs, that's fair enough.

Not much bloat ware to speak about. It's almost stock android.
You can load up 8gb of games, for example, 3gb music will still see you having up to 500+ songs. You'll typically cycle out movies you've seen. 50 music videos at 50MB each is 2.5gb. Apps aren't that demanding on your storage space.

Im not saying this will fit your needs, but I don't think the situation is as dire as you think it is...and with storage space constraints, smart memory management is key.

For me, what makes the Moto g a winner is Google's support (Android 4.4 kitkat coming very soon and likely support for some future updates), excellent build quality and by for the biggest dev community for any budget phone out there. More custom roms, more tweaks than you can think of. Motorola is on course to sell millions and millions of these.

Nanidee you are really funny. Actually i ordered for this phone on amazon.co.uk but the 16gb version. Since its out of stock, my delivery date is uncertain. But I'm patiently on the look out for it because its the best fone i can buy for the price of N40,960. But the uncertainty of its still delivery freaks me out. Did you get yours shipped to Nigeria or do u reside in the UK?

I have the 16gb model, paid £129 though amazon sells for £20 more.. Comes in 8gb for £89.

Pros. 720 x1080 resolution. corning gorilla class, near stock android, quadcore snapdragon 400, adreno chip, runs 4.3 JB with Kitkat upgrade in january.. Decent 2k+mah battery

The most important though is the price, you will never find a similar specd phone anywhere near this price.

To keep this phone at this price moto and their parent company Google made quite a few compromise, it comes with a 5mp camera that is not that good, pix appear washed out and colors are not punchy or sharp. I think the video shoots 720HD, still need to check on that, but the koko be say imaging and video ain't its strongest point. No expandable memory though Google gives you 50gb cloud storage for 2 years, battery is non removable. To equally save cost, there is no charging adaptor or earphone. I guess they believe most people have old chargers lying around.

What I like about this phone is the size, a 4.5 inch you can use single handedly, no bloatware from Samsung and co, JB 4.3 and the screen resolution. Icons appear tightly pack with pin point sharpness thanks to its smaller form factor. And of course those chips, played the graphic heavy need for speed with no dropped frame or lag.

One purchase I don't regret, I packed up my note 2 since I got this phone.. The thing was stretching my palm. grin

Developing countries will be gett ing the dual sim version.

@nanidee I don't know if you are a geek but don't worry I'm here to help you out. Pre-ordered for mine last week, hope it arrives soon by the Grace of God. Had to wait for the international version. Fell in love with the Moto G at first sight. She's a beauty to behold. Love the phone so much, I've picked a name for her; MOTunrayO Gold. You can call her Moturayo. I've got plans for her though. Planning to take a cue from Mr Mobility's House of Mo and start my own geek diary that talk's about my adventures with Motunrayo.
When I get my phone, I'll help you with some stuffs. I'll update some specs and details later. Don't mind the derailers. This thread is going to make front page and we are going to do it TOGETHER.

They will not sell shiit. The market is owned by Samsung and Apple. It is evident in the fact that the so much hyped LG G2 had disappointing sales even though it was widely regarded as the smartphone of 2013 by most tech sites. How well a product sells is beyond how well you do well in R & D. Marketing is key.

An inferior budget Samsung galaxy phone will outsell this device. That's what Samsung and Apple dose better than the rest.

Bad news for LG but Good news for users like us who prefer low key devices with awesome features.

I agree with teexapate, 16gb should be enough for most phone, I used a HTC sensation xl that had only 8gb and didn't even fill the thing up, that was 2yrs ago though. I won't advice anyone buying 8gb now. Minimum has to be 16...

You might be right, unfortunately its the consumers that loose out.. Google hardly market their phones, apart from folks in the geek community, most people don't know what a nexus phone is.

The moto G deserves to sell, this phone packs hardware and software unheard of in budget handsets. Phone is built like a tank with no creaking parts, Amazon can't keep up with demand, and that's a good start for moto.

Motorola is the company to watch in 2014, I like what they are doing with Google..
