Will closing down beer parlours make every beer drinker in the area repent?
Certainly not d best alternative.
look at it the other way round... If every beer drinker repents, the bars will be forced to close down. That's what the pastor is driving at. #thechristianway

Churches shd limit their activities within the four walls of their churches and assist the society with their prayers if need be.attempting to shut down beer parlours is tantamount to usurping the duty of the govt.as if crimes are not comitted in the churches and by the so called pastors.

Pastor Kun: The Pastor Oseni must have been drunk when he made that statement. He should first repent from the tithe fraud perpetuated in his church before he thinks of ridding Lagos of criminals.

Christians stop living in self-denial. Wine in the bible means alcohol.

* Gen. 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

* Gen. 19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

* John 2:1-11 Jesus Changes Water Into Wine

* Prov. 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

* Prov. 21:17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

* Is. 24:9 They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.

...Just to list a few...

ayooluniran: I'm really sad right now because people don't understand what christianity is all about.....first, the pastor didn't mean physical confrontation, he meant evangelizing to and praying for people that drink in dat area.....this is for non-christians to know. The Second thing I'd like to say is to christians only, because non-christians cannot understand..... of a truth I personally can't point out a place in d bible where humans are clearly not asked to drink wine...however, the bible says there must be a distinction between a christian and people of d world....how would you feel if u heard pastor adeboye drinking....anything you do as a christian that makes people doubt if u are truly a child of God should be done away with. The word Christian means 'like christ'. Christ never drank wine, infact all nazarenes and prophets in d bible didn't drink wine. Paul permitted timothy to drink just a little wine because of d ulcer he had.

My third point is on tithes...the only people I'm addressing here on tithes are christians...non christians would not understand why we pay tithes...according to malachi chapter 3, God ordained tithes (1/10 of every profit we make or salary)so that he would protect the remaining 9/10 and ensure we enjoy it and don't spend it on sickness and disasters, another reason is that there may be food in his house (the church), for pastors (who are not meant to work), widows, the needy and to further the Gospel. So when u are paying your tithe, see it as paying it to God not the pastor....the bible clearly says God said we should leave him to judge his servants/pastors and dat we should not judge them ourselves.....most importantly you've obeyed God....and believe me it hs always worked for me....actually I've been paying 25% instead of 10% since 2007 and God has increased me greatly....in d last 10yrs I only remember falling sick once, my first car was brand new and it was a gift, I've been married for 2yrs and I have a happy family......I'm just 27years old and from a family which in some years back had to ransack d house for coins to buy 1 or 2cups of rice....no meat oh! We had to pick snails in d environment to cook as meat.

So my dear friends, the choice is yours .....the eyes of the lord run to and fro throughout the earth to show himself strong on d behalf of those whose heart are perfect towards him. Love you all...*kisses*
Likes! Bless you dear smiley

Shut up your mouth. What have you gained siting in the Church for 3-6 hours worshiping "God"? Name 1 REALISTIC thing you've gained.

Rather you loose your money to the man of God and his croony general overseers. You should spend more time in your workplace planning and strategizing on what next to do with your time.

obyrich: It's either you are a pastor or a liar. I know uncountable people who rose from grass to grace without paying tithes. Tithe is never a condition for God to bless people. The Malachi passage you and your ilks quote does not refer to christians. Christ was a high priest in the order of Melchizedek yet he did not collect tithe from anybody. Then why do you christians who claim to follow christ's footsteps deem it fit to collect what your master did not take? Remember Gehazi, Naaman and Elisha. Stay away from deceit.

No problem bro. I'm not a pastor and everything I said earlier is d truth....but I try to stick to the ordinances of God. In actual fact I dread being a pastor...it's practically impossible to manage humans without God's help......isrealites showed moses pepper.....all I can say is this.......if on your dieing bed your heart assures u dat not paying tithes will not prevent u from entering heaven, then congrats...keep eating ur tithe...there is good success and shaky success....maybe I'll visit u with my wife and Kids in years to come to see how u're faring......I'd like to write a book and use u as an example of why people should not pay tithes

And did I read, he referred to shrines as kingdom of darkness and he wants to pull down shrines? He must be drunk on too much beer to even think this.

I will personal pull down his church branch if he pulls down any shrine.

Most of you commenting just lack d knowledge of d word of GOD. Going to church does not make you a Christian or a child of GOD. When Jesus turned water to Wine, did you see or heard any that partake of the wine got drunk and fell into gulter or stagger! If you are matured enough you should know that anything that has a clause to it is dangerous. Why will d manufacturer says not for sale to Under 18? You drink and forget youself, misbehave, put aside a major project until further notice. When we you wise up? No wonder the Bible says, the prince of this world have blinded their eyes. If you like take 100 bottles, not everybody will make Heaven, so if you made up your mind not to bro, Hell is also available. Takia

Do you think Jesus did not drink of the wine when he changed the water to wine? It's not orange juice, it was wine (Ogogoro, Beer, Hennessy, Brandy, Moet). You name it, Jesus and his disciples drank wine many times and i am sure they didn't stick to one brand. grin grin

Meanwhile, in other news I will rather practise the religion with a living God and not some religion that tries to give life to objects of art and craftsmanship.

MAYOWAAK: A crusade to shut down beer parlours, reduce crime and depopulate the kingdom of darkness in Ogba area of Lagos, western Nigeria, is underway, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM, said at a press conference on Sunday.

“We want to close down beer parlours in Ogba environment. We want to convert beer parlours into our praying centres,” said Pastor Aderemi Oseni, the Regional Overseer of MFM Region 32 Ogba, Lagos, who addressed journalists in his church.

“At the end of this crusade, the kingdom of Satan would have been completely depopulated,” he said, adding that the crusade will take place between 19 and 21 December at MFM Regional Headquarters at 9, Ajayi Road, Ogba.

Sensitization campaigns have already begun and a march around Ogba area took place on Sunday.

Oseni said crime had skyrocketed in Nigeria and MFM was ready to assist the government in reducing it in Ogba area.

“We are worried about the extent of crime going on in Nigeria presently and we desire as a church of God to see as much as we can in assisting the government of this country in reducing crime in our own environment,” Oseni said, adding that crime can be reduced through evangelism.

Oseni said it was an open secret that major streets in Ogba have been converted into shrines.

“I am aware of the fact that powers of darkness have converted all our major roads to shrines in this environment. We want to pull down all these (shrines),” he said, adding that they are militating against the progress of mankind.

The theme of the crusade, overcoming the storm, was inspired from Mark 4:19 and aims at helping Nigerians overcome their personal storms or challenges, Oseni said.

“This environment is loaded with a lot of potentials but majority of the potentials are going through a lot of storm,” he said, adding that after the crusade the “whole of Ogba will be delivered from every storm.”

The last crusade took place in June this year and the first one was held in December last year.

Oseni said what makes this crusade unique is the array of pastors who have gathered for the purpose and the areas of focus it will address.

Women are not, however, allowed to wear trousers for the crusade, Oseni said, explaining that it was against the scriptures for women to dress like men.

Oseni said safety and security measures have been put in place and anti-bomb detector devices have been provided for the crusade.

Enough policemen and internal security personnel have also been called upon for the event, he said.

Pls tell this ppl that the prevalence of high crime rate in nigeria cannot be address by persuasion alone but rather a clear representation of the goverment in ensuring a workable system. Can't they understand the nation is sick? Poverty is on the high side which makes everyone still alive to struggle for survival at every opportunity available(survival of the fittest). Parents can no longer curtail the excesses of their wards because they can't measure up to their responsibility of meeting the family's demands. Several young girls out there have retorted to prostitution not to get rich but for a survival. You need to go out there and see to it that people are suffering due to massive unemployment. The revival the country need at hand is nothing but a revolution so that the voice of the ruled can be aired. Crime can only be reduced to the barest minimum when poverty is less transient
