Dave sat on his seat and sighed. He had called Ann severally but she didn't pick up. He wanted to ask her how she was faring and get her informed not to come to work because she needed a lot of rest.


He had asked the secretary as he was entering if Ann had resumed duty and he was told she had arrived. He had told her already! At first, he thought she'd just reject working with him since he broke their relationship. Ann herself had been pondering and knew the oath they took wouldn't have any effect on David because of the kind of person he was.

She had cried a lot even though she wasn't totally fine, her father had been complaining of leg pain for sometime now and she had no money to take him to the hospital. She had finalized it that she'd be avoiding David in the office, she wouldn't behave like someone who existed in the office. She had been thinking on it and guessing that he must have bee dating Yvonne, if not who else?


She had told Linda also and Linda told her to forget David and face the job she came there to do, she was sure all would be fine.

David stood up and walked to her office to check on her since she had refused to stay at home. He stood by the door listening to her phone conversations. He could decode that she was weeping as she was speaking on phone. See mum, I don't like it when you cry, you've started making me cry too. Dad is going to be fine so don't worry... I know there's no money but I can't ask David for now..

David remembered his pasts in their house, the day Vanessa would abuse him, even slap him and all the works he did handle. Tears also trickled down hos face and barged in without knocking. "Why are you this wicked Ann? Why? You never told me something was going on, you are in a bad condition and can't tell me offer an helping hand? Do you want to kill that man there? Answer me!" He continued weeping.

Ann stood up also and stared at David. "How do you expect me to have it when I'm hurt? How do you expect me to come to you when I feel awfully rejected? I love my father and don't want him to die but will coming to you solve it?"

"How won't it! How won't it? I want you to answer! See how you're crying and you know the state of your health, dad is ill but you never told me because of what? Answer me Ann!" He exclaimed, they were both shouting at each other.

"David, please I wish to be left alone... please." She sat down.

"You walking me out of your office?" David wiped his tears. He knew their discussion would have gotten everyone's attention because they were shouting at each other. He wasn't happy that Ann didn't tell him about her father, did she want to paint him black before them?

"I have to get somewhere..." he said to the secretary and left the company. He drove as fast as he could and called Faith that he'd like to see Linda. He got to the company and collected the address to Ann's house from her and headed there.

"So it has gotten to this? A rented apartment?" He stood by the front of the house sadly. He entered and visited the room as it was described. 'It's here.' He knocked while Vanessa came to get the door.

She almost disappeared on seeing him, David? "Please ma, let me come in." He bowed amd entered.

He was offered seat and could see Engineer Thompson lying on the sofa, groaning in pain. He asked questions about his health and got to know he'd been in pain since the issue of accident. He felt bad and told Vanessa to pack things that would be necessary because he'd take him to the hospital that day.

Vanessa almost knelt for him because of her happiness. "Please don't tell Ann for now."

"Yes... yes sir." Vanessa replied.

"I've told you earlier, I'm not a sir.." he helped her with the clothes and drove Thompson to a private hospital. He told the Doctors to begin treatment on him and if flying him abroad would solve the issue, he should be informed.

David walked out of the hospital and headed to the office. He wanted Ann to be shocked whenever she heard he was the one that paid for her father's treatments. At first, she'd want to know how he got to their house and try to chid him.

Ann walked into the hospital. It was fifteen minutes to seven, she was called by her mother to meet her in the hospital because her father was there. She was shocked at first, thinking if anything had happened to her father until she got to the hospital and met David.

Though, they left the office together but she wasn't expecting to see him there. She neglected him and greeted her mother. "What are you doing here? Where's dad?" She was curios.

"I'll be back ma." David stood up and walked outside.

"He's receiving treatment." She replied her.

"Treatment? Mum! Where do you expect me to get the money that will be used to foot the bills?" She sat angrily.

"David brought your father here and he's been paying for everything. He even got him provisions while coming..." she grinned and showed her the provisions.

"What! Davd has been.." She stood angrily and walked outside to meet David. "Dave! Didn't I tell you there was no problem? Didn't I?" She questioned.

"Ann, I have to go. I want to check on someone, I'll be back later." Dave waved and left.

"Thank God!" Ayomide smiled.

"Yes oh, he just came and told me he'd assist me. I'm looking forward to seeing that day we are going to visit Dad. You'll follow me oh." She grinned.

"Definitely!" Ayomide clapped her hands together happily.

"What again!" Ayomide was worried.

"If Dad gets to know, what will he do?"

Adefemi David wore a white shirt and brown trouser, he looked so handsome as he stood beside Yvonne with his hair well combed. "Good day sir." He prostrated.

Olusola recognized David instantly, he was smiling as he sighted him and told him to sit beside him. "How are you?"

"I'm good dad." He smiled.

"Thank you so much for the other day, you were my saviour." He chuckled.

"Dad! Its God that's our saviour.." David laughed.

"Hope there's no problem, why have I seen you today? You just came to greet me?" He smiled.

"Em.. Dad, I brought my fiancee as you've told me to.." Yvonne cut in and adjusted her gown.

Olusola's eyes popped open and stared at David. "Really?"

"Yes sir, that's true sir." David chuckled.

"So if I didn't tell you to bring him, you wouldn't have?" Olusola asked Yvonne.

"No Dad, I thought it was not yet time.." she smiled.

"You people aren't growing younger, you ought to have gotten married!"

"Huh?" David smiled.

"Yes now." Olusola smiled. "I'm really happy to know that you're the one, David. But my daughter is an egg, she must be treated with care, don't break her heart because I know my daughter can break yours. I don't want you people to engage in premarital sex because it has nothing good to offer, I really want you people to study yourself. I'll get you a P.A as soon as I can that will be giving me reports until you get married."

"So what name do you call each other?" Olusola sat back happily. He wanted to tease them before he'd let them go.

'What a question!' David thought and chuckled.

"Dad... that now is personal..." Yvonne laughed.

"I know that's what you'll say." They laughed.

'David, trouble is on the way..' David heard the spirit sharply.

"Huh?" David was shocked. His countenance got Yvonne and Olusola's attention while they gazed at him. "What's it?" Yvonne asked.

"Sorry, I thought I forgot to send a file to my business partners." He grinned.

"You got my attention. So you've sent the files?" Olusola asked.

"Yes sir." He smiled. "I should be going now sir because I have some places I want to touch." He stood up and bowes smiling.

"Wait, I'll tell the maids to prepare you something to eat now." He tried to stop him.

"No sir, I'll still be here some other time sir, I have to see a client."

"Alright, be careful." He smiled.

"I brought you this, sir." He brought out a golden wristwatch and gave it to him.

"Thank you my son, God bless you." Olusola grinned, "We still have a lot to talk about as men, I hope to see you soon." He added.

"No problem sir." He grinned and bowed again.

"What's the problem?" David asked the spirit as he entered into the car. Yvonne was still with her father, she wanted to stay with him till evening before leaving for her place.

'Your father is in danger, it's today they've planned to end his life, you must run to his house to save him!'

"My Dad?" He started the engine and drove as fast as he could.

"We need to get him the injections urgently.." The Doctor concluded to Ann.

Ann had no money on her and twenty thousand was needed urgently, she told the Doctor she'd be back and walked outside beside the road. She thought on calling David but she didn't want to talk to him because she didn't want her emotions to be disturbed.

She called Linda but she was also the same, she had no money on her. 'I have no choice now but David.' She concluded. She searched for his mobile phone number and stared at it for a while.

She was remembering the time they spent together. If not for Linda and aunty Shalom, she'd still be with David. Things might not be the in the way it was. What she didn't want happened, she was almost crying again, she still loved him.

She finally dialed his mobile phone number and rose her head, looking at the cars that were passing then saw David's car. He hadn't picked his call and it didn't look as if he came to the hospital. 'The best thing is to quickly go after him.' She thought. Delay may be dangerous.

She stopped a motorcyclist and mounted on the motorcycle quickly. She noticed the motorcyclist was an illiterate yourba man, so she spoke youruba language. 'E tele moto yen- follow that car." She pointed and hit the man so that he'd be quick. They started trailing him but didn't meet him until they got to his father's place, where David parked his car and entered. Ann also entered when she got there.

Mr Adefemi, David's father was sweating profusely and weeping on the floor as two gunmen were with him and Morenike, the evil woman. They've been torturing him until David arrived.

He didn't know at first. He continued walking and didn't notice the gunmen. One of them sighted him from the window and got the woman and his colleague informed. Ann was also coming behind.

Ann turned her head to the left and noticed that the guys were pointing a gun at David. Her system changed as she dropped her bag, she still loved him, even if it was to die, she would do that for David to know how much she loved him. "David!" She alerted and ran toward him. It paid her to be shot than David. If that'd convince him, she should die.

The gun was shot and met Ann by her chest region, around near cardiac muscles that is close to the heart. She fell instantly and was soaked with blood.

She was no longer breathing...
