Henry yelled at her.
'don't flatter yourself Henry. She's not for you'
Linda shouted
' how old is she?'
'a year and five months'
Linda knew she can't lie to Henry about Daisy's age.
'you were two months pregnant when you left Abuja. Did you have have other lovers apart from me?'
although, as far as he could tell, He was Linda's only lover before she left.
'yes Henry, i had lovers. What the hell will you do?'
Linda shouted. The two seemed to forget that Daisy had been wailing for attention.
Their shouts had upset her. Neither Henry nor Linda seemed to care that the girl was crying her eyes out.
They were all caught up in their anger. The anger that has been building within them for two years.
Henry looked closely at Daisy. Deep in his heart, he knew she was his. He didn't know how but he was sure. Linda had been lying to him all this while.
'okay Linda, if you insist'
he told her quietly.
'but i won't leave my child in this shabby place. Look at you, you barely have enough money for her upkeep'
Linda laughed bitterly.
'i don't need your help Henry. Leave my house and never return'
'i shall leave Linda, but i'm not leaving kogi state until i confirm that this baby is not mine. We are going for perternity test on monday'
Henry shouted at the top of his voice.
'I'm not going anywhere with you Henry'
Linda shot back.
'I'm not asking you to come. You might sit at home. I'm taking the baby with me'
he replied.
'now listen carefully to me Linda, if after the test, She's not mine, i will walk quietly out of your life.
But so help you God, if she's mine. I will take her away from you and you won't even have the privilege of a visit'
'you won't do that'
Linda told him in a shaky voice. Her voice betrayed her and confirmed Henry's suspicions but he masked all his emotions.
'Get her ready on monday morning. I will come pick her up'
He match out of the flat like a man set on fire to his hotel room.
'By the time i'm through with you Linda James, even you won't recognise yourself'
Henry thought out loud.

as soon as he left, Linda manged to calm Daisy and put her to sleep.
She didn't sleep, neither did she cry. She lay quietly on her bed staring at the room.
What will she do now? Should she pack her things and run away?
She thought and finally fell into a deep slumber with Daisy by her side.
Daisy's cry awoke Linda by 6am.
'mummy tea'
The girl cried.
Linda quickly bath her before feeding her. She stayed in her flat and didn't leave.
On monday morning, a knock came at her door. She refused to open the door.
'Damn you Linda, open the door'
Linda opened it two hours later. She had already spoilt Henry's cheerful mood.
He didn't even tell her goodmorning. He went to the room and picked up Daisy who had been playing with her precious teddy bear.
The girl, who had never seen Henry before burst into tears. She fought and kicked for Henry to put her down but he refused.
When he got to the door, Linda words and tears stopped him.
'there's no need Henry, she's yours'
Linda shouted.
'you are very stupid Linda. You ran away with my child and didn't even bother telling me.
It's been two years Linda, how can you be so wicked?'
Linda kept mute. She didn't know when she had spoken the truth to Henry.
Henry placed Daisy on her feet. The little girl ran as quickly as she could to her mother who picked her up and placed her on her hips.
'what did i do Linda to deserve this?'
'henry, please go, i need to bath. I'm going out'
'oh i see, you want to meet with one of your lovers? Okay, kindly give me back my child. Pack her things, i'm taking her with me to Abuja'
Henry quietly told Linda.
Linda, held firmly unto Daisy.
'only a wicked man will take a baby away from her mother'
she shouted in tears.
'see who is talking? A frying pan calling pot black. Stop shedding this crocodile tears for me because it piss me off.
You are a very wicked woman for refusing to give me the first seventeen months of my daughter's life.
Infact get ready Linda. My lawyer will meet with you. I shall fight you dirty for the custody of her. We shall meet in court'
Henry angrilly stormed out of the flat. It wasn't until he boarded his car and was on his way to the hotel that he realised that he didn't even know his baby's name.

For me she's running because if she is to b determined, atleast ha determination should make ha continue ha job while she draws a thick line of demarcation between she n ha relationship with Henry
BTW in all the story So far I've not seen Where Henry called ha over she's the one going to him for crying out low... ha determination should b to bar him out of ha mind for good

The fact is everybody have some pride residing in dem but it is the quantum u exhibit that makes people say u r proud
The thing is though I don't support his disposition at this point but he has all d right in the world to b angry

He asked ha calmly whether the baby was his, she said no he had to leave his business for the weekend n spent it So as to wait til Monday before getting the truth haba he tried.. atleast telling him the truth that day wouldn't b dad n again she can give him reasons for ha departure n den get things straight with him
