Guys as a Dog lover I have see all sorts in Nigeria been called Pure Breed and there are absolutely no standards so it occurred to me to reach out to others like me who interpret "Woof" into human languages.

Please does anyone know if there are kernel clubs in Nigeria and is anyone interested in joining me to build up one.

I think I know of one and it isn't hidden it has an account on fb,and also there is another one,"Lagos dog breeders Ass"..know of some standard names who are also a part of this union so to say!
Thanks

olisafincy:

Your mission statement is different from his own.
He is concerned with proper cross breeding the right species together and not mix breeding any different kinds of dog and getting unidentified puppies while you are concerned with promoting a healthy lifestyle for our dogs and owner by adopting the habit of walking your dog.

Knyte clearly stated that. Next time I think you should read properly and understand before posting. Don't rush into conclusions

Canine Owner and Breeders Association,

1. Good day day to you. I am Basiru Lukman Adekunle, a Principal
Commercial Officer/ Schedule Officer handling Dog breeding and marketing
Value Chain at Department of Commodities and Export, Federal Ministry
of Industry, Trade and Investment HQ, Area 1, Garki, Abuja, Nigeria.

2. The Ministry through the Commodities and Export
Department is statutorily responsible for the initiation, formulation,
execution and implementation of policies relating to oil and Non-Oil
commodities for both local and international markets. Thus, the focus of
the Department is the diversification of the Nigerian economy through
export expansion, job creation, poverty reduction and food security among
others. This is done through the creation of an environment for profitable
private investment in agribusiness and Agro-industries. This policy thrust
involves organization, nurturing, registering and strengthening commodity
associations to enhance their capacities and potentials to compete
favourably. In addition, the Department’s mandates include: Initiating commodity
development projects and programmes, Agro-export quality certification and
promotion of export incentives for all commodities.

3. Considering the compelling need to diversify and grow the economy, provide jobs for our teeming youths through agricultural commodities and create wealth for Nigerians, the Ministry is trying to form an umbrella/apex national commodity association for dog sub-sector for the purpose of streamlining the
activities of the dog Commodity Value-Chain in Nigeria, with trust policy to ensure orderliness in the conduct of commodity business within and outside the country. And in order to achieve it, all the local dog associations/clubs must be brought together. The Ministry's mandates does not disturb the activities of local dog associations/clubs, but the time to established an apex National Body for dog Stakeholders in Nigeria has come and this must done in collaboration with
relevant Organized Private Sectors, Ministries, Departments and
Agencies of Governments in Nigeria. Generally, Dog National Commodity Association is therefore expected to coordinate the activities and programmes of dog stakeholders in Nigeria, to fast-track growth and development
of the sub-sector and to increase the contribution of the sub-sector
to the Nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

4. It is in the light of the above that, as one of the relevant stakeholders in the sub-sector, the Ministry is requesting that your Association should forward the list and phone contacts of the real and relevant dog stakeholders in Nigeria to us, to enable the dog sub-sector explore the various opportunities which our collaborations will offer.

5. Thank you.

Basiru Lukman Adekunle
Principal Commercial Officer/ Schedule Officer on Dog Value Chain.
