1ord: Please don't just jump to conclusions without facts and looking at various perspectives i don't know where all these pseudo intellectuals got access to internet from. These individuals or societies did these heinous act out of a sense of morality.This is because morality religion and all that bullsh.it clouds ones judgement . Furthermore on a deeper level they must have felt such a moral act such as ethnic cleansing would better their society or lead to the survival of it or themselves as an individual . Sorry to ask but how did you pass your waec. I am barely above 20 and i am educating your sorry ass pls kill yourself. Furthermore morality is a matter of perspective such as the people of Akwa ibom pounded their twins because it was moral. Pls think for yourself don't let a set of ideologies some cave men set for you define you.
Lol. A foolish proud man who thinks his thinking is correct and others are false simply because he is irreligious.

Unable to realize his state because his neck is too high in the clouds.

Come down and stop speaking loftily, eve if you were passing a valid point, no one would listen to your airy words unless they had to, or they are of like minded shallow pride.

@Oduduwaboy and Italo;

From the perspective of evolution and Oduduwaboy's argument, the issue of morality is decided on survival and the environment. In short, morality is based on survival and what works.

The first thing any animal or human or beast learns is survival. That instinct is expressed as soon as we are born. All animals have that instinct.

Secondly, humans are different from all other animals because of their reasoning ability. Animals act on instinct alone while humans use both instinct and reason. A lion will never question the ethics involved in tearing an antelope's oesophagus- it does it by instinct.

In short, morality is based on
a) the instinct for survival (what harms/kills us is bad)
b) the ability to reason (what works and what doesnt compute)

In short, to answer Italo's question, what makes an action more moral (or immoral) than another action is based on;
1) Does the action harm the survival of a human?
2) Does the action harm the survival of others (group/society)?
3) Does the action work i.e. does the action have more benefits than disadvantages from its consequences?

================================================================================
Take for instance, the morality on abortion from christian Italo and atheist Logicboy;

Case- A WOMAN IS 3 MONTHS PREGNANT. HOWEVER, SHE IS THINKING OF ABORTING THE BABY BECAUSE HER HUSBAND DIED 2 MONTHS INTO THE PREGNANCY. SHE WAS A HOUSEWIFE WITH NO INCOME AND THE HUSBAND JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE ON MORTGAGE (DEBT) BECAUSE OF THE INCOMING BABY. SHE WILL LOSE THE HOUSE AND SHE NOW NEEDS TO GET A JOB TO AFFORD RENTING A PLACE TO STAY. SHE HAS NO CLOSE RELATIVES TO HELP OR EVEN LOOK AFTER THE BABY WHEN/IF IT GETS BORN. SHE WAS AN ORPHAN WHO GREW UP IN AN ORPHANAGE. SHE IS ALSO DEPRESSED WITH THE LOSS OF HER HUSBAND. HER HUSBAND'S RELATIVES LIVE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY AND THEIR SUPPORT HAS BEEN VERY LITTLE- HER MOTHER INLAW (WHOM IS SICK WITH CANCER, BY THE WAY) CAME FOR ONLY A WEEK AND TRAVELLED OUT BACK TO HER NATIVE COUNTRY OF GERMANY. THE FUNERAL WAS CHEAP AND QUICK. CREMATION AND SCATTERING OF THE ASHES- ALL IN ONE DAY. THE INLAW GAVE HER $100 DOLLARS AND LEFT.

Logicboy's perspective
-She should abort the baby if she wants to. The choice is in her hands

Reasoning
a) Does it harm the survival a human?
-Yes (if a foetus is a human). The foetus will die

b) Does it harm the survival of others?
-No, abortion wont affect the mother or the doctors or the society

c) Does the action work? Does it have more benefits than negatives?
-Yes

Advantages
-The woman gets to have a chance at working without a burden
-The woman would have a less financial constrain without the baby (all of her income goes to her)
-The woman wont have to share her depression with the baby. A depressed mother is usually a bad mother.
-The state wont have another welfare baby on govt assistance
-The woman would have an easier time dating for another husband without a baby

Disadvantages
-The physical pain during the abortion process
-The mental pain of remembering the abortion
-The feotus dies

*the obvious caveat here is that there has to be counselling before the abortion. The counselling doctor would look at other alternatives before abortion- giving the child to foster care or orphanage etc.

Italo's perspective
The woman should not have abortion

Reasoning
Abortion is murder and God said "thou shalt not kill". The woman is looking for an easy way out. Keep the baby.
Meeeeeen,this post reminds me of Mortal Combat.

Flawless Victory!!!! cheesy

Sorry if my post offended you but he was displaying ignorance. Furthermore i have a religion but i am not an active practitioner. Furthermore i am far from most sub humans and am far learned to understand science is not 100% accurate and various theories can be easily debunked with time. The technology and knowledge available is insufficient to sway me completely to the side of the atheist or the theist. But i will not let some 2000 year old book dictate my existence. I am a cross between a deist or deism agnostic and a christian its a complex mix but as long as i confess Jesus as my savior regardless we will all sing hakunna mata ta (that is the eternal loop hole in the bible). I am far from foolish but would give you the benefit of the doubt and not slander upon you. And no my pride isn't shallow if you knew me you'd realize how insignificant your existence is. I am not proud just factual. Pls stay of my case

Italo, are you now satisfied?

MORALITY is RELATIVE, although there could be similarities in the morality of a group of persons and another.

In other words, standards of right and wrong are mere products of time and culture.
