hello Nairalanders. I would av simply get google to answer this question for me. But due to the fact that d answer might b subjective to each culture. A friend of mine, Bayelsan, Female, during a discussion, she mentioned that Dowry is money paid to the Bride's family and Bride price is the bond money paid to the Bride herself.
Is this true? And then, how is it in ur own culture

Bride price is the money the groom pays to the bride's parents.....

Dowry includes the money, stuff the bride goes with to the man's house. Sometimes, the dowry includes, pots, utensils, wrappers etc. Dowry is not paid to the husband

about Dowry, is the Money and stuffs from the Groom's pocket? Or the family of the bride equip her with all those? If its from the groom's pocket, isnt that double standard? As in, paying the bride's parent as well as paying the bride for the love you both shared

the money comes from the bride's parents and stuff she might have bought while with them
