The National Conference in its final report recommended the creation of 19 additional states to bring the number of states in the country to 54. The recommendation was made by the Committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government jointly headed by Ike Nwachukwu and Mohammed Kumalia. Initially, some Northern delegates kicked against moves to create additional states apart from the one proposed for the South-East which was overwhelmingly supported. But after series of consultations by the leadership of delegations, the Conference unanimously adopted the recommendation for the creation of additional 19 new states. PREMIUM TIMES obtained a copy of the proposed map of a new Nigeria after the states proposed by the conference are created. - See more at: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/166982-new-map-of-nigeria-as-proposed-by-national-conference-ngconfab.html#sthash.KJz098wB.dpuf

Aside that.... Am not even subscribing for the creation of new states..... To me, it's opening an avenue to embezzle more funds.

These usually happens after huge frauds has taken place in some of the states to be recreated.
Look at Akwa Ibom, Delta, Abia, Enugu, Cross River in the southern region of the present 36 states the plan is to recreate part of them.
EFCC be on the lookout....all these thieves won't go free. The present and past PDP governments has emptied the economy of those states. Now they want to erase the records and move into a new phase.
Nonsense.... shocked

I like your argument. My problem is that it's the same persons (all going round like Bombay circus). They would not allow the new states stand, they would milk and dry them. These characters especially from PDP are everywhere, they would make the dreams and aspirations wane quickly. I don't trust them.

EFCC pls get ready......

EFCC is a PDP pet project so what are you saying. The money going round would bring new crop of leaders and fresh ideas . It's better.

We are not serious. Did they alter the revenue sharing formular to include fend for yourself and pay tax to the FG.

Because if the amount of money all commissioners of finance from each state go to collect from abuja IS STILL THE SAME then they are deceiving themselves.

Let me read that report first sef. But I think creation of state is just being stupid without addressing fundamental issues of true fedralism.
