PORNOGRAPHY FOR THE CHRISTIAN??

I was at a bus stop yesterday waiting to board a bus when I overheard a group of five young boys arguing about whether it is OK to watch porn or not. From their looks, I figured they’d be aged between 18 and 20. As they smartly took sides and tried hard to defend their positions over the issue with many reasons, I listened attentively with so much racing through my mind. The first thing that struck me was the boldness and complete lack of shame with which they argued about this issue that is very much not talked about in the society. One of the boys, who claimed to be a born again Christian, said that he watches pornographic videos and doesn't see anything bad or wrong in it. He said, “Since fornication is strongly forbidden for Christians, porn is the only way to learn about sex and sexuality in preparation for marriage.”
Just as he said that, a bus with space for two passengers pulled in. I boarded it with one other passenger and it zoomed off. While in the bus, I began to wish there were enough space in that bus for all the boys. Suddenly, that wish gave way for countless thoughts.

Questions literally flooded my mind – porn for the Christian? Is this what many think and believe? How could fantasy teach a man reality? Is it possible that porn actors, who are heavily on drugs and have gone through series of breast augmentation and other surgical "enhancements",could teach the truth about sex and human sexuality?? What else can a young person learn from porn if not the attitude of "sex on demand", that sex is a commodity, easily traded, without any commitment or relationship or consequences whatsoever

Many Christians try to justify their indulgence in porn by the fact that they don’t take part in anything and they don’t ever hurt anybody. They look for all manner of loopholes even around clear spiritual principles. Friends, that is deadly dangerous. Was Jesus so harsh on the Pharisees and Sadducees because of their actions, or because of the condition of their hearts (white washed tombs with perfect obedience to the law)?

Jesus is concerned with the condition of our hearts, and our relationship with Him. So you may not have acted but have committed fornication in your heart (Matt 5:28). There is no room for living in a fantasy life, weather that be through drugs or porn.
Like I pointed out earlier, the issue of pornography is still very much not talked about amongst Christians and is ‘almost ignored’ by the very people who should be addressing it – the family and the church. Ignoring the issue is a grave mistake considering its widespread. It’s worse to hear foreign media and online resources labeling it a "not harmful to anyone".

As Christians we are not called to condemn or pass judgment on anyone but the truth is that porn does not enhance anybody’s Christian life. No Christian can bear good fruits being a porn addict. Porn has lots and lots of dangerous consequences on the user. If you are into Indecency, ask God to help you as you work towards quitting the habit….

I thought you were about to give us a link grin

Porn is diabolic period.
It targets the soul, sowing lustful seeds and weakening a person's spiritual state

May be OP you should channel this question to the pastors.
In every congregation there are lots of teens. This are people looking for knowledge and facts.
How many times have you heard that a pastor organize youth meetings and tell the kids in detail about sex education. Yes thou shall not commit adultery fine. What about after marriage how will they know what to do to consume their marriage.

How many teens whom are adults including the married ones can say they learned about sex education from their churches. Or are we waiting for the holy spirit to teach us that too. Most picked it up from people who might not even be born again.

So as they are shouting bring in to the store house so that there will be food in my house every Sunday; they should not forget the teens who are hungry for knowledge. Or they will be looking for all sorts of places to quench their curiosity
