I was never her fan, never visited her site except peharps a link from here or FB takes me there. But, from the ratings, she is tops on the blog business. If she did it before, she will do it again. It will just take a while.

Well, it is her fault. You cannot expect to copy and paste someone else's hardwork and get paid, without giving them a dime. That may be the Nigerian way, but thank goodness others don't follow Naija-style.

The people defending Linda Ikeji are people who insult you, during an exam, when they want to copy your book and you cover it. Or people that insult you, when you refuse to put their name on that group termpaper, because you know they didn't bother working or showing up till the last minute, after you had worked and were about to submit.

Hy Onegai. At least there are still LADIES here who go about issues logically. *exhales in relief* I've been a victim of book piracy in my 200L and lost a huge sum to it. I thank God for u. There's no room for sentiments here. U cannot live off the work of others.

That said, this story brings several things to the front burner.
1. Linda Ikeji is not educated.
NB. There's a difference btw schooling and education. One might be a graduate and not educated.
Every educated person knows they shd pay an annual token to have a dedicated domain name and a host.

2. She has a terrible/uneducated circle of friends, advisers and followers.
I've NEVER, EVER been to her blog cos I blv she's overrated and sells with sex appeal [Hence I did not even know it ends with '.com'.
If number 2 is not so, how come no one, I mean none of them advised/told her via email or whatever medium to upgrade to a premium service?

3. She is opinionated.
Assuming those mentioned in number 2 advised/told her[ they probably did] she refused to heed good counsel and advice


4. She likes free
This type of woman/girl ,tho making millions, will not give/invest in her boyfriend/husband/family [Google in this case]. Cos she believes its the man's responsibility to UNCONDITIONALLY keep providing everything[domain name and host in this instance] for free. While she just eats, shops and saves her millions

5. She does not like to pay professionals.
She works with dilettantes and amateurs who know no better than she. Cos if she had professionals on her team, the domain name issue would have been one of the first things to be taken care of, if not the first.
Does she even have legal advisers? They would have told her all this[esp the copyright infringement part]. I can bet she does not.

Her saving grace is that she's in Nigeria and the clamp down on plagiarism and copyright breach is lax, if not non-existent.
If she was abroad, she would have been facing fines running into millions of dollars that 10 Range Rovers cannot pay.
This list could go on and on.
NIGERIANS CAN BE SO SENTIMENTAL. FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, STOP THIS WHOLE ENEMIES, ENEMIES, ENEMIES THING.
Little wonder songs and churches talking about enemies and being witch-hunted sell a lot in Nigeria.
She's a victim of her own IGNORANCE, GREED, SELFISHNESS, HARD HARDHEADEDNESS AND MANY MORE

Sent her an email almost a year ago warning her of this but she never responded. I guess she thought I was going to fleece her undecided I'm sure Google will have a re-think and reinstate her back. This should serve as a warning to other blogger wannabees disturbing us on NL with dem links grin

If you go into the story well, you guys will realise Google is just protecting it's own name incase Madam Linda gets sued by the complainant.

So, whether Linda had a website with her own domain name before now or is with Google she was still going to get served as long as she kept breaking copyright infingement laws.

So it's not a matter of Madam Linda bouncing back with a new website like most of her funny sympathisers are crying for, it is her doing the right and legal thing on the website.

She shouldn't panic. She could still reinstate her blog, I had before. If anyone know her, tell her to get in touch with me and I will show her what to do. But, for being so foolish not to have her own domain I'm going to charge her heavily for my service.

Check ma posts. U will be the second female I'm giving props. I seldom praise ladies unless I truely believe they deserve it.
She not only thought u wanted to fleece her.
She probably saw you as a hater, and envious of her 'SUCCESS'
Her failure to reply your mail only forebodes doom for her and indicates one of many things:

1. She lacks the basic etiquette of replying mails AS SOON AS she gets them and this is RUDE.

2. She doesn't give a hoot about her followers and fans.
She just uses them to get traffic and millions from advertisements due to that traffic.

3. She doesn't pay professionals [Chop alone syndrome]
Agreed. She might be too busy to reply every mail. But the standard practice worldwide is to employ professionals to do this for u.
The reply gives you followers and mailers a huge sense of belonging and importance.
She needs to go back to the very rudiments.
Such an attitude of not replying mails could hugely cost you follower-ship abroad

This will serve as a deterrent to all other Nigerians engaged in unethical practices to make money. The world is becoming a global village and soon there may be nowhere to hide.

The truth is the brand Linda Ikeji is finished as far as Google is concerned. Even if she gets her own website, they will still remove it from their index and search results . Google, ebay and Paypal can be horrible.

When you steal from others and poverty mentality drives you to act childishly by displaying wealth and cars online, you will definitely annoy those you have been stealing from and if they had simply ignored you in the past, they may have no choice than to report you to a higher authority due to such behaviour.

Her problems have just begun. She might soon get several legal suits from foreign bloggers, websites, magazines etc
Serves her right.

Why do Nigerians celebrate criminality ? If Google saw fit to take down her blog then there must be an issue with it! Nigerians get what they deserve, because we never demand accountability from anyone! The next thing is we start saying , it's her time , people are jealous, and she claims "God has Favoured me "! Hmmm then why do we complain about corruption? Even if she comes back, as long as she is still infringing on the copyright laws, she will go down again, she writes nothing, just lifts other people's articles and posts, it was just a matter of time! Her time has come!!!

When I read your comment it made me have a second look at the Situation. She should have had her own domain name since. She has the money. But to all peps all celebrity bloggers are ruthless.

Same goes For seun the fact is as an entrepreneur u must be a moving target nairaland can get better than this but seun is contended with its current state. I fear for these nigerian IT entrepreneurs its a fierce world out ther.

In a country like U.S or U.K, a final year student can be rusticated for simply copying someone else's research work (it's called plagiarism). Unlike Nigeria, your plea would be waved aside even if you pay N10 million tuition.
