As the title of this thread reveals, we are going to be studying on the Holy Spirit.
This study is going to take 8days for us to know much about the person of the Holy spirit.
Update will be done on Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday and Friday,you just sit back and enjoy the bible class.

DAY ONE
[center]WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT[/center]

Read:Matthew 3:16,17
Matthew 28:19,20
The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Godhead.He is equal with the Father, and Son as seen in the baptismal formula (Matthew 28;19), and the apostolic blessing (2 cor. 13:14).

Thus the Holy Spirit is God and not an impersonal force. (Eph. 4:30; 5:3,4; Matt. 12:31, 32). God the Father,the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct persons. Like the Father and the son, God the Holy Spirit is self-existent, immortal, everlasting, holy, all powerful, omnipresent, and all knowing. In short, He has all the attributes of God the Father and God the Son.

When Jesus Christ, God the Son, became a human being, he depended totally on the Holy Spirit for all the power He used in His ministry(see Luke 4:18, 19). If Jesus in His earthly ministry needed the Holy Spirit, we definitely need him too. The Holy Spirit makes all difference!

Prayer points:

Day two
[center]THE HOLY SPIRIT AND YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE[/center][center][/center]
Read: 1 Corinthians 2:13-15

Without the Holy Spirit we can never have interest in spiritual things. It is the Holy Spirit that creates in us the love for1 spiritual exercises, like Bible study; attending prayer meetings; witnessing , and giving(see Philippians 2:13). It is true, some may do all these things without the Holy Spirit, but they do it out of a sense of duty as Nicodemus did them before his conversion. When the Christain life becomes mechanical, boring, and a mere round of routine activities, it is a sign that the Holy Spirit is absent in a person’s life. For such a person, no amount of New Year resolution will work. As Jesus told Nicodemus, “that which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit”.
The solution is to make a full surrender to the Jesus as Saviour and Lord, and then pray that the Holy Spirit come into your life. Please read Revelation 3:20. If you do what Jesus wants you to do here, (that is if you have not done so). May the peace of the Lord be with your soul. Amen

Prayer points

1. Make a complete surrender of you life to Christ and ask him to take you as wholly his.
2. That God will help all our youth to make a full surrender of their lives to Jesus Christ so that God’s plan for them can be fulfilled.
3. That God will help every church and company to divide up into very functional small groups that will meet at least once a week for Bible study, prayer and witnessing.
4. That God will bless our various governments with wisdom and integrity to lead the people aright.
5. Peace in all nation of the world.

DAY THREE

[center]THE HOLY SPIRIT AND VICTORY OVER SIN
[/center]

Read Jeremiah 13:23, Ezekiel 36:26-28

The only power that can break the yoke of sin is God’s power. And since the Holy Spirit is God, when He comes into a person’s life, He gives victory over besetting sins. If we are not going to repeat the sins of yesterday again today, we have to invite the Holy Spirit into our lives to be in full control.

In John 15:5 Jesus says “I am the vine, ye are the branches” in this verse lies our victory:
“I am the vine, ye are the branches,” Christ said to His disciples. Though He was about to be removed from them, their spiritual union with him was to be unchanged. The connection of the branch with the vine, He said, represents the relation you are to sustain to Me. The scion is engrafted into the living wine, and fiber by fiber, vein by vein, it grows into the vine stock. The life of the vine becomes the life of the branch. So the soul dead in trespasses and sins receives life through connection with Christ. By faith in Him as a personal saviour the union is formed. The sinner unites his weakness to Christ’s strength, his emptiness to Christ’s fullness, his frailty to Christ’s enduring might. Then he has the mind of Christ. The humanity of Christ has touched our humanity, and our humanity has touched divinity. Thus through the agency of the Holy Spirit man becomes a partaker of divine nature. He is accepted in the Beloved.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Make a full surrender of your life to Christ and ask the Holy Spirit to come into you, now
2. That God will be with all widows and widowers to comfort band sustain them.
3. That God will bless all our business men and women and all self-employed members of the church; that they will co-operate with Him so that He can truly open the windows of heaven this year.
4. That God will bless members that are employees of the government establishments or privates companies.
5. That God will provide suitable partners for all our youth who have reached marriageable age.
6. That God will help every church and company to divide up into very functional small groups that will meet at least once a week for Bible study, prayer and witnessing.
