Hmmm i see people kneel down all alone for 1,2,3 hours,thats minus the time they already spent in bible reading and singing of song,they are not even pastors,most times i even ask myself these questions "what has he/she been saying? I thought the bible said we should avoid heaping of empty phrases or repeatition of words when praying? Isnt him repeating words all this while?..few times i even tried to kneel and pray for 30mins,i couldnt except when am in church and the prayer section began,u cant watch while others pray,u gats to force ursef to prolong ur prayer..my question is,what are the benefits of praying for hours and how can one develop that attitude without repeatin words

I spend long hours everyday even after work, researching on topics in my career field. Slowly but surely, I'm becoming an authority in my field.

I think, the same would apply to folks who spend long hours in churchy things. Yes. even if they repeat same words, they might soon be expert kramers of the entire bible

I believe that the only thing that should motivate someone to spend such an amount of time in prayer before GOD is a true love of GOD and a true desire to commune with/spend time with GOD... not because one is trying to meet some requirement or expectation of others.

Whenever the Holy Spirit moves you to pray, then pray... in your room, silently in your heart, etc.

"Pray without ceasing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Some ppl pray intensely to keep themselves spiritually nimple and lithe. Just like athletes train daily to stay ready. I read of an olympic sprinter who trained 4hrs everyday for 4 years!

Some people know wen their prayers are not yet "done". They can feel d weight in their spirit so they stay @ it until d weight is gone/lifted. At this point they know the issue theyve been prayg for has been settled. It's usually intercessors who experience this.

At other times ppl spend time to hear from God distinctly on an issue. Without d signal from God one cud make terrible mistakes.

Then som ppl pray for their own gain issue problems. God bless me God touch my life etc. Well, not sayg its bad to pray for urself but somtimes its a mark of selfishness and immaturity to invest so much time praying all for oneself and own.

Jesus often prayed all night.
Is it a wonder His ministry was so impactg? Wat wudve happened if He was sloppy in prayer?

it extravagant grace to spend such hours with God daily.
It helps a lot. It make u av a deep relationship wit God. And mind u prayer is not only asking God for something, it process u discuss wit God....
It rooted u more in him.
I enjoyed those time I spend wit God, I do spend almost 6hrs a day den, and am still enjoying it till nw... What most people prayer for many day I can decree it once and it will come to pass.
I pray for d grace once again.
