This is hard to believe. From what I know, GMB never had hand in the process of Nigeria joining IOC, despite being pressured by some IOC countries especially in Africa during his tenure. It was IBB who solely handed us to the IOC, funding it with some atrocious loans that kept us in debt till today.

You are a poor student of history.
Islam never spreads with persuasive arguement, but through forced conversion & violent jihad.
That was the same posture of christians in constantinople in present day Turkey before the Othoman's conquest & forceful conversion that turned it to present day Turkey.
If they forced Nigeria into O.I.C, enthroned sharia in Northern states, made moves to do so im Kwara, Kogi & Oyo states, i wonder what makes you think they cannot toy with Southern states if Nigeria has an extremist as commander in chief in a moslems dominated armed forces.

We do not need an intollerant extremist as head of state, no not now.

Mr man, this is the 21st century. If you decide to have,a medieval mindset, its your choice. No sane party/president in Nigeria will ever try to impose a religion .
'
To date, nobody has tabled a bill or motion in the legislature to withdraw our membership of the OIC. What does that tell you? It is not necessary?

More PDP propaganda, this time it's OIC membership. Let's be clear on the facts. Buhari had nothing to do with Nigeria's membership of OIC. Gowon (a Christian) registered us as an observer country in 1969 and IBB (GEJ's father) registered us as a full member in 1986. During his brief regime Buhari refused to sign on to make Nigeria a full member of OIC despite intense pressure from some international Muslim interests.
By the way, most of the OIC member states are secular countries, and many are majority Christian countries. For example, Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Togo, Gabon, Uganda, Cameroon, Mozambique, Sierra Leone etc. All fellow African countries with more Christians than Muslims and yet full members of OIC. Sharia has not been implemented in any of those countries yet. Please let's not give in to fear or propaganda.

Same old shiit with just a different smell. Now is is "Buhari upgraded" after IBB made us a member. It used to be "Buhari tried to islamize Nigeria by taking us to the OIC".

Just as Father Mbaka said, anyone who thinks Buhari would "islamize" Nigeria isn't thinking right. How is that going to come about with the existence of the HoR and the Senate?? They say Buhari cannot be as successful nipping corruption in the bud as was during the military era where he wielded absolute powers yet in thesame breath say he would Islamize the country even when he couldn't do so "when he wielded absolute powers"!!

You guys can dig up a pile of dirt the size of the refuse dump along Aba-PH road, none is gonna stick.

By the way, we've had successive "christian" leaders in the country draw loans from the IDB, a facility made possible by our membership of the OIC and no one seems to raise any finger in objection. Even in 2015 budget, our prime minister Okonjo Iweala drew up plans to secure loans from thesame bank and these misguided souls wouldn't lift a finger in objection. Isn't that the height of hypocrisy

Buhari is an Islamic fundamentalist, a proudly one for that matter.
Why did Buhari prepared Tunde Bakare resignation letter even before 2011 election?

We can't keep living our lives in fear. In fact if we must fear, a more valid fear is economic paralysis which is bound to happen if the looting currently going on continues.

Also for those who fear anything Islam so much, why do Christians flock to Dubai, a sharia state for holidays? Could it be because the Muslims there are more honest and progress minded than the so-called Christians in our Nigeria?

Yeah that Turkey`s example is a good reminder for all Christians. All seven Churches that were warned by Jesus in the book of Revelation were in Turkey. The country was originally 100% Christians, but when the terrorists entered they destroyed the structure thru brutal killing and massive destruction. Today we all see the result.

Buhari is an advocate of islamization of the country, his utterances on sharia to be implemented across d whole country, sympathy for boko haram etc is no more news.
Boko haram named him as a go-between to negotiate with the FG n that implies they have common grounds- making an Islamic state of the country.
If buhari gets into power, he'll b sympathetic to boko haram n that will give them d momentum to push their struggle to the southern part of d country while keeping a temporary ceasefire in d north.
So if buhari should ever get into power, let's b sure to have boko haram attacks in the southern part of Nigeria coupled with d resurrection of d Niger delta militancy.
The result of this will be a reduction of d daily output of oil from d Niger Delta n a need to cut government expenses- workers will be relived of their jobs.

That is what you are taught to believe, they keep telling you every Haus.a man or Muslim is a terrorist, they will tell you that you should not trust a Muslim with power yet they are not making your life better, they kept milking the treasury, they close their eyes to people ravaged in the north by Boko haram.

All these religious propaganda is just to cover their ass. Nigeria is in OIC, does that prevent you from going to church ? What harm have that done you. This is DEMOCRACY and no one can impose on people what they don't want.

Nigeria is a secular state and it remains to be so, so far it remains one indivisible entity.

CHANGE.

The only problem I have with people is being sentimental about religion. We should wake up from our slumber, these people are just using Islam to carry out there devilish act. If at all they want to Islamize there region, will they be killing the people they want Islamize? Will they bomb their mosque? Let's be realistic, an average Nigerian family cannot force a religion on his people, not to talk of a whole region.

this article is pure propaganda from PDP.
Buhari didn't partake in registering Nigeria as an Islamic country.
Buhari didn't submit any application for registering Nigeria to Brother of Islamic conference.

Nigeria was islamised by IBB who is a current member of PDP.

IBB registered Nigeria despite Muslim having less than 50% population.

from a more credible source;

http://www.punchng.com/news/withdraw-nigerias-membership-of-oic-to-curtail-violence/

GEJ should deregister Nigeria to reduce terrorism just like the link above stated, but he won't because he needs votes from Muslim extremists too.

don't bring Buhari into this

What else is the motive of a president that now uses the church's pulpit on a very regular basis, to make public statements on issues affecting both Christians and non-Christians? Is that not religious bigotry and fundamentalism? If it were to be a muslim president going to mosques every friday to address Nigerians, how would Christians feel?
