now dnt get me wrong. I am not saying GEJ should not be blamed oh, but do you know the thousand of projects going on at the same time in this country right now and you expect the president to be on all of them at the same time? they have local and state govt, representatives closer to them who they can easily ask questions and even raise an alarm and know why the project is not continuing. This could help. For instance, the oshodi-Apapa, lagos-ibadan express road, the medias are close and the ppl are talking about it almost everyday, so do one expect such works be abandoned even when the govt sits in Abuja? So ppl need to start on the day the projects are approved to take charge until the projects completes rather than wait to pay back on the d-day even when they know some government workers are fraudulent and sycophants who may not mean well for thier boss and the nation.
Ok. I get you now. Its just that I have seen and heard abt so much abt disbursed funds for projects never executed. The system is soooo porous and d easiest way to steal is to be a govt contractor. I have no faith in this govt.

I understand you buddy, but the political realities and expediency called for Osinbajo to be the VP.

You see, the Professor was the proverbial ‘dark horse’ who emerged like a bolt out of the blue. He was a non-starter against the likes of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola, but for the much-feared Muslim-Muslim ticket.

As the running mate slot was zoned by the APC to the South West (perhaps to ensure those millions of votes were obtained; votes which mostly went to Jonathan in 2011 despite Ribadu flying the ACN flag), Adams Oshiomhole and Rotimi Amaechi had to be sacrificed. And then, to complete the ‘dark horse’ luck, another potential running mate, Segun Osoba, had just recently decamped from the APC an angry man. Luck! Good?

Hence Osinbajo emerged as the VP. He had no political capital or nation-wide appeal whatsoever which could have enabled him to be the Presidential flagbearer.

We'll be where we need to be as a nation, after the Buhari Presidency. Hope this helps you a bit.

I get you, but we all now that VP's do not really have much say or doing power in Nigeria and to be honest, I don't see Buhari letting his vice be a back seat driver and neither do I see his core supporters in the north putting up with a southerner, christian pastor upstaging Buhari or getting the limelight.

Osibanjos plans although good, will not be allowed to see the light of day.

Buhari and not Osibanjo will be president if APC win and all his orating skills or plans will be forgotten.

Buhari has waited a long time and obviously wants to be in power. Where their visions differ, Buhari will dominate. Osibanjo is there to deliver the votes, not really for the things he can do once he becomes vice.

He will be VP and not president and his wings will be clipped as soon as he helped deliver the presidency to Buhari.

I think realistically, this is what will happen if APC win.

Buhari is a tyrant! He is NOT a democratic leader! People who Call jonathan daft, I wonder what they will call buhari (if they are honest to themselves) because Jonathan is waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy smarter than buhari. Now to this man, buhari knows that he is not intelligent hence, he chose this man. They were some questions that even he Could not answer properly! From his statements, you will know that apshit has "no manifesto" and they lack the skills for "democratic" leadership. There is sort of freedom of speech in jonathan's administration hence, some of you little kids can call him daft without sanctions unlike obasanjo who would have probably sliced your necks abi? Having a general rule you is a retrogression! Because once a general, always a general. Can you change a general from dictatorship?

Has anyone thought about GEJ not wanting to continue as Nigeria's President? Have we even considered that he may be tired of all these God fathers who won't let him be whom he really is or even rule with the right principles and execute his job effectively?

What if the Cabals are forcing this man to continue to be their face while they rule from behind the scenes forcing bad governance down our throat?
What if GEJ is kidnapped to continue to follow his pay masters directive and he has no way out.

GEJ may be tired of this whole ish and his hand maybe so tied with convenants/agreements he cant get out of.

Sometimes, things are bigger than we can actually see.
God help us to make right decisons but the person wearing the CAP may actually need help carrying the HEAD.

I'm neither...I'm just someone who was involved in capital raising and due diligence for a couple of the DISCOs. Your tirade and childish rant would be ignored. I will furnish you with links:

http://www.wapicforum.com/tcnigeria - Look for where it states, '"The current transmission capacity of Abuja-based TCN is 5,500 megawatts compared with an installed generation capacity of 8,000 megawatts. This means that if generation companies were operating at full capacity, the grid would be unable to transmit all of the power to homes. The government wants transmission capacity to exceed 6,000 megawatts by 2016", Nebo said.

For further reading...educate yourself with this document: http://www.nigeriaelectricityprivatisation.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2011/02/Transmission_Company_of_Nigeria_Investor_Forum_Presentation.pdf

Ability to play with words does not signal you have the brightest argument...it may indicate you'll sound intelligently stupid. Don't refer to someone as an illiterate if you failed the homework.
Instead of doing cut and paste, why not deploying critical thinking and analysis?

The piece you provided has given me ample ammunition to decisively shoot down your argument. You just pasted without cogitation on the content of the material.

From your piece, it was posited that TCN had a transmission capacity of 5.5.MW out of a total installed capacity of 8MW while the generation capacity stands at 6MW out of total installed capacity of 8MW.

The question you should have asked yourself to get a handle on what was being implied is what is the peak power output in Nigeria at any point in time.

Power output has never exceeded 4.5MW meaning that we have ample transmission infrastructure to convey the amount of power being presently generated (Transmission capacity of 5.5MW against current output of below 4.5MW).

You were apparently misled by what was principally speech-making by the minister. The man was merely speculating on an ideal situation. Why raise issues on transmission considerations when we are yet to put our transmission capability to full use?

The man you all support clearly avoided debates and media through out his campaign in 2011 and 2007, he appeared in an interview with Dbanj which was obviously rehearsed then went ahead to debate him self, yet people voted him in.

I am not supporting any old man government. Simple.

yes I have heard about that too. A typical example is the owner of bicotney- Wale Babalakin I stand to be corrected, during Obasanjo regime. He abandoned the Lagos-Ibadan expressway project and made away with the money. So, its not just the head that is bad, the legs as well. But I believe and hope GEJ steps up is game but trust Nigerians with their tribal words when such action begins, "He is punishing our people and leaving his people". Just like Ihejirika issue. Its difficult to rule the country called Nigeria.

Nigeria has always been home to great intellectuals. The past few years I will want to call an aberration, the likes of Buhari and Osinbajo are what we call leadres and not looters.

The government has since began to tackle the problem long distance transmission by building new power generating stations.

Instead of only say Egbin, we now have Olorunsogo, Papalanto, Omotoso etc in the SW.

The same can reasonable be said of other parts of the country.

Granted that Prof Osinbajo is no engineer, but he conflated issues by asserting that our major power problem is transmission. If that were so, most of our major cities would be having constant power supply instead of the rationing we do have, since most cities are being fed by proximate power stations.

E be like say Prof dub the thing sharp sharp from one online medium. LOL.

What the Prof is saying
privatize transmotion and decentralize power generation.
Lagos currently has 4 IPP serving different locations in Lagos. We dont need all these long distant trasmiions .

Prof is knowledgeable about the power issue.

But nigerian history shows that Buhari has had the most popular and effective vice of them all in Idiagbon. There are even arguments that Idiagbon was more effective than Buhari and the brain behind the Buhari government then. Why should it be any worse in a democracy?

As far as we are concern, we are tired
of Boko Buhari headache in this
country. This old man should go and
rest. He is very empty to rule Nigeria. Is
not by force. We are growing up, not
growing down, APC are on the media every time of the day preaching and
spreading all kinds of hatred, jealousy,
greed, sentiment and bias mind against
our dear President. We all remembered
how Boko Buhari toppled
democratically elected govt in 1983.
Dele Sobowale of Yorubad never
highlighted that. We all remembered
how Boko Buhari supported Boko
Buhari. It was not mentioned by this
APC apologist. We all remembered the
heinous killing of our NYSC members,
Christian of Northern and southern
extractions and other southerner after
he lost 2011 presidential election. We remembered Boko Buhari saying and
vowing publicly that he will never contest presidential election again in his life time in 2011. What is Buhari
doing now? We remembered how the
troop lead by this man killed women and children in Asaba and Umuahia in 1968 and 1969. We remembered Boko Buhari plotting coup against Shehu
Shagali’s democratic govt and viciously
imprisoned all the southerners
(Ambrose Ali, Akinjide, Alex Ekwueme,
etc) in the govt and put only few Core
Northerners (Zuwo, Lawal Kaita,
Shagali, etc)under House arrest. If
Shahu Shagari who is then the President that was wrongly tagged
corrupt by military power mongers and
power desperadoes, were then placed
under house arrest in the comfort of Ikoyi mansion, why did Boko Buhari put Vice President Alex Ekwueme into kirikiri
prison? All the journalist who attempted to ascertain the reason behind Boko
Buhari’s tribal wickedness after his govt warning for them to stop digging dip
was jailed as well, Now, till date, the Hausa/Fulanis who Buhari lead was all over Nigeria as cattle herdsmen
terrorising their host communities in
crops and killing the villagers. Have we
heard Buhari calling them to order or
sympathising with the victims family.
No. On one occasion when they where
dealt with, Boko Buhari spoke out and
said,’your people are killing my people’.
A patriotic and national leader to be.
We all remembered Boko haram trust
and confidence in Boko Buhari as their
leader to the extent that they appointed
Buhari to negotiate with Fed Govt when
Nig Army lead by Azubuike Ihejirika
pinned them down inside Sambisa
forest and they considered surrender.
We all remembered on many occasions
when Boko Buhari openly sympathise
with Boko haram ‘a lost on the battle
ground. We remembered his call for
amnesty for this killers and bombers.
We remembered his comparison of
Boko haram with ND militant. We
remembered his party faithful vowing to
make GEJ’s govt ungovernable. Here we
are today? We remembered him
meaning that it is only when Nigeria
consider voting him as President is only
when he can release/free Chibok Girls.
If not, forget it. We also remember him
saying the he has chosen Osinbajo as
his running mate. Just a day after Tinubu told the press that Boko
Buhari has offered him VP slot and Osinbajo was known to be Tinubu’s
preferred VP candidate. Is Buhari not
lying that he himself had actually
chosen his running mate? As a dictator,
we remembered Buhari sending soldiers to Awolowo’s house to ransack it repeatedly and on one occasion, they seized his passports and vital
documents. We remembered the extent
of suffering which Fela Ransome-Kuti
and his entire family suffered in the
dictatorial regime of Buhari. We
remembered how boxes starched with
billions of Niara and dollars was caught
on the escort of Boko Buhari right hand
man and ADC at MM Airport Lagos and
how Boko Buhari sealed it and blocked
every media house from writing about
it. We all remembered $20 Billion missing under PTF while having Buhari as sole over-Lord. We remembered
Boko Buhari’s Degree 2 and 4 and the
retrospective atrocities surrounding
them against international law and
people killed with it in extrajudicial
execution. We remembered Buhari as
PTF Chairman, how 95% of his PTF projected was concentrated on the
North and how his only 5% was reluctantly done in the South. That’s why most of the southerners then don’t
know or hear about PTF. We cannot
count this old man for nothing sins. If
common Councillors can submit their
university degree with INEC, what
prevents this trouble maker who has 4
good yrs to prepare after his last loss to
get his credentials ready. We gave seen
a lot of high level civil servants working
many yrs without any required
qualifications. Why can ‘t this old grand
pa step aside to give Nigeria fresh and
better opportunity. Forward to enlighten voters to choose wisely.
