Well friend, I'll tell you which part of Nigeria you are from, even though I'm a Kalabari (Niger Delta).  Going from memory as a kid whilst in Nigeria, I know that the people of Ishan come from the former Mid-West State.  Some of the Ishan towns are located very close to the North and indeed, very hilly - e.g Auchi, whilst one is located at the confluence of River Niger and River Benue (Agbede, I think).

The following are typical Ishan towns:

- Auchi
- Agbede
- Agenegbode
- Fugar
- Irua
- Jetu
- Uromi
- Ubiaja
- towns making up Owan Division

Please get to know your roots.  If a non-Ishan such as I, knows your roots as much as I do, then you should know it without even thinking about it.  By the way, Ishan is the name of the ethnic grouping as well as the language spoken there.

That said, I used to know someone from Auchi who grew up in Nigeria before coming over here, yet claims he doesn't understand or speak Ishan.  Typical case of being in self-denial.  Bloody shameful, if you ask me.
