@Africaman
Greetings to you.

Thanks for getting back to me over that post of 20th of January, 2020.
I actually posted a very detailed message to you and the NL Spambot
just trapped my post.

The NL Spambot is one of the 2 things that get me pissed with NL... the
second thing that gets me pissed off with NL is the unbriddled ability
of known trolls to open new accounts instantly by using free throwaway
emails to continue to spread hate speech and misleading information
on here.

I contacted the Super Mods to untag my original post to and to my surprise I'm
just realising from you that the post which I typed offhand was not
restored by the Super Mods.

I will send the message today because I fortunately saved the post/message
into my computer notepad so I have been able to trace it based on the date
[20th Jan 2020] you supplied to me.

More songs:

1) Ambrose Campbell - Eni Ri Nka He(From 1966, seems like the Beattles did an English version in 1969/70 called, 'Hey Jude') :

2) AMBROSE CAMPBELL - Obladi.wmv(From 1966, seems like the Beattles did an English version in 1968 called, 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da') :

3) Jimmy Solanke & The Junkers - E Je Ka Jo (From 1965, almost like a Yoruba version of Chubby Checkers 1960 hit song 'Let's Twist Again') :

4) Orlando Julius - Ijo Soul(From 1966, seems inspired by James Brown's 1964 song 'I got You') :

Wow...

@Africaman your collection of Ol'skool Yoruba/African-inspired songs is one
of the most comprehensive I have ever seen on the Web in one place.
Thanks for this post... you and Naptu2 also have the same type of deep interest
in the groovy 1960s and 1970 music era and you are both very thorough.
Been listening to Dizzy K's 1980s track that you posted here as well and
it sure brings back memories.

I Really like the Lijadu Sisters 1978 track... "Come on Home." "Danger" and
"Come on Home" were very popular songs from the Legendary Lijadu Sisters back in the day
in Lagos and some other Nigerian cities... and those 1960s/1970s/1980s
songs still give me goose bumps! There's something very surreal about them that
I cannot fully explain!

However based on your number 4 entry in this post... I wanted to just quick
point out to you that Orlando Julius-Ekemode [aka, O.J Ekemode] actually
said it was the legendary "Godfather of Soul" James Brown that sampled
his song "IJO SOUL" after James visited Nigeria in the 1960s and visited the
club where he used to perform in Ibadan. He revealed this in an episode of "Teju
BabyFace Show," Season 4 Episode 7, 6 years ago where he and the Latoya Aduke
his African-American wife were special guests... my jaw nearly hit the floor
based on the audacious revelations made... and I believe O.J Ekemode.

Second, Orlando Julius-Ekemode also said it was he that INVENTED the Afro-beat
sound in Nigeria and NOT Fela because back in the day, he had musical engagements
with Fela who got inspired by Orlando's music style.

OK... I just found a video Web link of "Teju Babyface Show Season 4 Episode 7"
==>https://ireporterstv.co/teju-babyface-show-season-4-episode-7/
... Teju Babyface Show featuring the Legend, Orlando Julius and his beautiful
wife, Latoya Aduke. 6 years ago.

Last but not least @Africaman, I wish you a Happy 2020 and
a rewarding and illuminating new decade ahead!

P.S. This is the exact/original message I typed to you
o the 20th of Jan, 2020.

@Africaman

I've read the detailed email that you sent to me today.
It can be very distressing to get banned from the culture
thread or any other thread on NL by the so-called spambots.

You did the right thing by saving your original post before
emailing it to me.

I just discovered or have a hunch that it is when several
videos are attached to a post and then you try to re-edit
that post after sending the message the first time that
the NL spambot kicks in.

The email was very detailed and I learned some more
about the James Brown and Orlando Julius-Ekemode
relationship from you.
I
You are indeed right about Fela Kuti's music being
an eclectic mix of sounds from different genres fused
together to form his Afrobeat sound... especially from the
Koola Lobito era to Egypt 80, etc.

Thanks for the prayers as well and hope to get more
interactions with you as the months go by.

Thanks again for the detailed response.

Thanks Bro...As you can see, I have now been unbanned by the spambot.

I will take note of what you've mentioned when replying/posting with video attachments.

I look forward to interacting with you more as well as time goes by.

All the best.

I've listened to the album about thrice. I cannot find the track that contains those phrases sadly.

Let me translate them to English. I believe the snippets of the song I remember translate roughly to:

"my friend, that eats and drinks with me"
"regardless, it'd be well with you"
"you are responsible for my troubles, yet eat with me"
