Just as in other countries, Nigeria has many native names from her various tribes and regions. I'll like us to discuss these names and their meanings in English. I will name a few Igbo names I know. You're invited to join, ur tribe and location doesn't matter, as far ur a Nigerian

Igbo names

Chukwudi/Chidi - There is God

Chikodinaka - In God's hands

Uchechukwu/Uchechi - God's will

Ebere - Mercy

Chidiebere - God is merciful

Ngozi - Blessing

Chigozie - God bless

Okechukwu - God's share

Onyinye - God's gift

Ekene - Glory

Ekenedilichukwu - Glory be to God

Ugo - Grace

Ugochukwu - God's grace

Chi is not necessarily the same with 'chineke or chukwu'' and Onyinye will mean gift not God's gift unless the name is incomplete

Chi > god
Chukwu > Almighty God
Chineke > The Creator/God

You're right about Onyinye though. I should have said 'Onyinyechi'
