My take on this subject is that the Nigerian Police (Lagos) has not come out to denounce fashola statement. He's the freaking governor for Christ's sake. Party apart, he has first hand information than you citizen. |

@Op, you surely are daft!! You claimed to have physically seen 50 security officers. How many were inside the building?, Those roads that were blocked were left without policemen abi!. So how were the roads blocked when no police officers were stationed there!. What about all those Amoured personel carriers at the Strategic Junctions along his route.! were they driving themselves!. Do you even know how many police will be required to man his route alone to Airport! If we assume 10 officers per junction and fifty junction from Broad street to Ikeja that is 500 officers alone, and we have not counted those on patrols, those on link roads that will be closed and those that will be permanently stationed at the Airport! Policemen are always stationed at every junction from Lagos Ibadan express to Lekki .. if we calculate the numbers of police stationed in each junction and road, it might be upto 1000 |

OP assuming you saw and count up to 50 security personnel in Marina.. However, according to Governor report these security agent, where station on all the route that president will visit right.. (Assuming Mr president is visiting 50 x 20 places = 1000 personnel)[/b], [b](what about the invisible security official that you cannot identify station around other places that president schedule to visit that day)... Why would a whole governor got it wrong? assuming you have all the fact, to me he's better place and have sufficient information than you. If u as a civilian for that matter can count 50 security personnel, Do you know the number of the invisible personnel? In that case your assumption is wrong and cannot call Governor Fasohola a liar. .However, if president is using 2000 personnel or more its okay, official protocol would have arranged or deployed in advance with Lagos state command, except if they are not communicating should that be the case...The lagos stage police command has failed totally for the Armed Robbers to operate with impunity or challenge for 20/25 minutes escapes via sea without sea and air tactical police support units is crazy or sducidal...However, with kind of money spend on security budget in Lagos, we expect our police unit to rise to such occasion. I am stick and tired of each of these guys scoring political point while lagos citizen and life and property are at risk. What is the point of buying and paying around 50m -300m to be leaving in that area if armed robbers can operate and kill citizen at will... |

The last time i checked, Gov. Fashola was the "Chief Security Officer" of Lagos State. How you managed to be right and he is wrong is what I don't understand. Incidentally, Lagos State Commissioner of Police & Inspector-General of police (both appointees of the clueless one) didn't manage to know that Fashola was wrong and dispute his figures too. |

The Nigerian Police have about 371,000 men. Assuming that is equally distributed among the states (which it isn't; its a function of population) then Lagos state should have at least 10000 men. Even if 2200 were 'road-lining' for GEJ, that leaves at least 7800 additional men. Where were these remaining officers na? Fashola, sadly, has stopped being a sound mind and is now a 'gutter' politician. #FasholaJoker |
