the issue is not about Wike winning but "how" he won. I believe everyone knows Rivers was a PDP stronghold just like Lagos is an APC strong hold. I believe in a free and fair election devoid of intimidation the result would have reflected the presence of the opposition like Lagos did. the "must win all" attitude of PDP in south south and southeast is undemocratic. PDP won in Gombe, APC did not protest because the incumbent governor was popular. PDP unseat an APC governor in Ekiti, the defeated governor respected the wish of the people. Democracy is not just about winning but allowing the votes of people count. Wike would still be declared governor if the result read PDP 550,000 APC 400,000 but in this case the opposition will feel comfortable to conceed knowing their best effort was not good enough but where you don't allow them to really test their popularity, violence and all you see in the rivers and akwa ibom is what you get. it cast doubt on the legitimacy of Wike apart from the danger of being lockout by tribunal.

Kinda obvious Amaechi is just a noise maker. Couldn't even deliver Rivers state during presidential and governorship elections for his party undecided

My question now is what is the hogwash he has been selling to his political party that makes them still keep him? For the record the guy is a Barrister you cannot sue him and win cos he knws the law he knows the judge, Ameachi was busy moving round Port Harcourt on election day , he was refused entry in some units ... that is enough charge already.. no need sef we dey wait una 4 d court[b][/b]

All the local and international observers have come out to say that the elections in Rivers did not meet the minimum standard of conducting elections anywhere.

All Patience jonathan and the crook of a Rec have done is ensure that Wike is sworn in on May 29, but they won't keep him there forever. By the time the case gets to court, Jonathan and his wife would be out of power. Wike will soon experience what Olagunsoye Oyinlola and the likes experienced. Rigging can only get you into the post temporarily, it wont keep you there.
Unfortunately for APC, there is no Ayo Salami available to forge judgements for them.

No one is saying he should not win. But if you want to win, win fairly. PDP candidates won in some of the States without any hoopla. You guys are all jizzing your shorts because PDP won in Rivers but even the victory in Rivers does not change the reality that PDP no longer has a majority of the states in Nigeria. Its time for change in Nigeria and even if we dash you rivers state, it makes no difference. grin
lol.... so winning states like osun, oyo, benue makes u feel good.. thank God apc did not win oil producing states.. next yr APC will b booted out of Edo...

That isn't going to happen. Unless if Buhari hands off and doesn't get involved, Wike will never prosecute Amaechi successfully. Usually cases of misappropriation of funds like that are handled by Efcc and we all know Efcc is under a federal agency. Didn't you see what happened with FFK? FFK was being prosecuted by efcc before he decamped to PDP. Immediately he joined Jonathan's team he suddenly started attending court hearings with official security escort. His case will surely soon be thrown out.
Besides, how many people has efcc or icpc successfully prosecuted? Bode George's conviction was overturned by the supreme court. Dimeji bankole and many others had their cases thrown out. My point is, even if Wike remains governor, since APC is in control at d centre I can't see him prosecuting Amaechi successfully.
Are u saying buhari will spare corruption?

Shuttup!!! Are u from Rivers, is it not clear that the people of the state want him, that's how u apc folks set confusions where u loose, like also in Ekiti and Akwa ibom also where it shows that the people have spoken with their votes, and later someone will come and preach change here, when u can't accept defeat and move on, so there will be peace and progress for all.
FYI: the thugs yesterday where Ameachi's thugs causing problem, cos he knew he was gonna loose, so he is left with no other choice than to cause confusion! Do u think if GEJ did likewise, u will be on nairaland today!

Its reasonable to say that Wike won the electon. It is not easy to rig every polling unit and every local govt in a big state like Rivers
