I think I saw it displayed in a bookstore at MMIA, but I didnt buy. My friend only has his 'AUDACITY OF HOPE' but he's still reading it. Maybe I'll collect it hwen he's done.

Its a very good book, It gives you an insight to the personality of Obama, Its a sort of autobiography, I think its a must read, He touched on Racism, his visit to Kenya, about his dad, conflicts about his identity, basically reading that book made me change my mind to support he rather than my favourite Clinton, U are better of reading the newer prints (2006 upwards as it has an updated forewood-which sets the tone of bare sincerity of the book)

Look, The Audacity of Hope is one masterpiece that is filled with sincerity of political thought, humble x-ray of his belief, development of his creed, insight into his value system, and lots more. Man! that guy is smart, a compelling writer. I am reading it again now. Just an insight, in page 9 of the prologue, paragraph 2, he stated his reason for writing:

"Instead what i offer is something more modest: personal reflection on those values and ideals that have led me to public life, some thoughts on the way that our current political discourse unnecessarily divides us, and my own best assessment - based on my experience as a senator and a lawyer, husband and father, Christian and skeptic- of ways we can ground our politics in the notion of a common good"

That guy can write!

This is the part i called the Obama creed, Audacity of Hope, page 10, second paragraph, i am starting from line 5 of my copy:

"I am angry about policies that consistently favor the wealthy and powerful over average Americans, and insist that government has ans important role in opening up opportunities to all. I believe in evolution, scientific inquiry, and global warming; I believe in free speech, whether politically correct or politically incorrect, and i am suspicious of using government to impose anybody's religious beliefs- including my own- on nonbelievers. Furthermore, i am a prisoner of my own biography: I can't help but view the American experience through the lens of a black man of mixed heritage, forever mindful of how generations of people who looked like me were subjugated and stigmatized, and the subtle and not so subtle ways that race class continue to shape our lives, I believe in the free market, competition, and entrepreneurship, and think no small number of government programs don't work as advertised. I wish the country has fewer lawyers and more engineers. , "

But doesn't this your earlier statement say otherwise?:

To interprete the above statement as mocking people that said Obama wrote 'Audacity of Lagos'(a typo by the way) and 'Audacity of Hope' is not out of place.
In other words you mentioned there that the person goofed twice, first for saying Obama wrote 'Audacity of Lagos' and second for saying he wrote 'Audacity of Hope', which means you didn't know he wrote 'Audacity of hope'

I was actually wondering weather the POSTER wrote Audacity of Lagos or Obama.

The dream of his father was not to see him in the whitehouse and connive with europeans to weaken Africa, for sure.

I'd think his father's dream was the opposite of the first part.
