My church just started asking those with their tithe to step out, this is a church I have being attending for over five years, though different branches. And I know the pastor is watching those like me that have never stepped out, I am just waiting for him to ask me one day, make me give am my own version of tithing.

OP is right but not entirely. Tithing is an obligation to God, its not GIVING! Its like paying your tax and its meant to bring meat into God's house.
Now OP is right giving to the poor is also another variation of giving and just like others it has its own rewards. But that doesn't mean that you won't or can't give to your pastor/prophet, there is an offering called Prophet offering and it also has its own reward.

True my brother. Where I fellowship we pay tithe and as the treasurer 100% goes to the conference Instead of the church retaining the money and spending it on the poor in our street. As for me Instead of giving my money to be used to feed pastors who are supposed to be feeding themselves like the Apostles I had rather find a Good message online and make tracts of it to distribute to people.

Giving in Church has never been compulsory...or has a pastor ever forced you to give before? it's a personal choice...so i think this thread is unnecessary.

Giving a N1m uncheerfully could be a sin too.
Either you give or not, the gospel will progress.
It's your choice, even pagans, budda, hindu, ifa, etc bring forth offerings to their gods,

Well we were not told that Apostle Paul coerced anybody to give. Rather he thanked them for giving him gift
