One of the verses of the scripture is Romans 5:8 which said ''But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners , Christ died for us.''

If you take a reference to John 3:16.when satan was cast down his intension was to put an end to mans relationship with God.God knowing that the only way to put mankind back on track is for total cleansing.He has to send his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that we will be newborn afresh into his kingdom

This is the message bible version of the same verse:

But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.

In my own words, I'll say, God expressed his love to us while we were deserving of his total abandonment.

This is part of God's redemptive plan for mankind and His love towards us. It tells us of He has loved us long ago and all we have to do is to accept His free gift of salvation because His son Jesus Christ has paid the price. It is also important to note that the gift of salvation is open to everyone no matter the degree of sin.
