Pls uninstall the change over switch connection bro.. It might be dropping voltage from the battery without you knowing..

Pls note that you are not to use any length of cable to connect your battery to your inverter or ups.. The longer the cable the more the voltage drop.. The lesser the cable, the less the voltage drop..

The diameter of the cable used should also be greatly considered.. The smaller it is.. The more it resists the free flow of current.. Causing a voltage drop too.. In such case, when you touch the cable you'd notice it's hot.

So always use appropriate cable sizing to connect your battery to your inverter..

Don't know the price of 1000watts inverter, but a 650 ups costs 1,500 and u can get higher ups like 750Va or 950Va that uses one battery inside but I don't know how much they will cost ,but these type of ups are very rare,

Both 600 VA and 850 VA ups are best sellers in single battery range of ups for home and office use.
850 VA ups are definitely power packed and most recommended by all ups dealers and technicians, as it has some advantages over 600 Va ups.
Let me list out some advantages,
Better charging current than 600 VA ups, it charges the batteries above 7ah little faster than 600 VA ups.
Though 600 VA ups can handle a 15 ah battery, the 850 va ups charges the 15 ah battery better than 600.

E.g if powering up your Kitchen mixer with ups is a basic amenity in ur homes. Now modern day kitchen mixers are more powerful and power hungry with more than 500 watts, a 600 va ups cannot handle this load, but an 850 va ups will handle this load flawlessly.
Hope the points I have listed above are enough to help you choose between 600 and 850 va ups

I bought this suoer 30A smartcharger at Oshodi for 13k...

...wondering how the thing works. I connect it to the battery and the green OK lights up.

The red charge light never comes on, fan also does not come on.

Wondering if I have been swindled.

The charger is ok, maybe the battery is full,run a load on the battery and drain it a bit ,then test the charger again

We all have to be very careful even from that guy at oshodi , me fit fall for that kind scam ,
E.g some are written 200ah on them but they are not actually upto 200ah , they use a sticker of 200ah to cover the actual amp of the battery, he said most 200ah batteries are 165ah , but omo ibo go take sticker of 200ah to cover it and tell u its 200ah,
When u want to buy a battery,check where its written 200ah and see if ur finger nail can peel off any sticker nylon on the body of the nylon,
Don't let those guys cheat u, money wey person suffer save

That dey try some scam. I was there twice, and to my greatest surprise, he sold the battery I wanted to buy. Initially, I wasnt with sufficient cash, I told him I'll be back. I called to remind him the following day, and he reassured me it was still available, Unbeknown to me, he had sold it and cleverly packaged another fake battery to look like the former. Anyway, I was very vigilant because i've really had some terrible experiences with those boys at Oshodi - very very desperate boys. To cut the long story short, I saw marks on the battery despite all their gimmicks to hide it. It was CLEARLY a FAKE battery, the alignments were rough and it was looking worn-out. I didnt pay. I simply told him I was dissapointed, he tried to lie again, this time, stuttering, I just left very angry.

Anyway, for those of you who need genuine battery, Vconnect has in stock, but it's limited, so be fast - it's Fullriver battery. 40AH is 15k. it's also available with one dealer at olowora, Berger - 65AH for 22k
