Jesus Before Pilate
…35Pilate answered, "I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered You to me; what have You done?" 36Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm." 37Therefore Pilate said to Him, "So You are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."…

The Olowo of Owo was the first King in Nigeria to visit the Queen of England. He was always the one to lead delegates of Obas to visit the Queen.

When the queen arrived Nigeria, all Obas bowed down to greet her. The Olowo of Owo only offered a handshake.

The Olowo of Owo was one of those who fought for our Independence. Chief obafemi awolowo political party was formed in the palace of the Olowo of Owo.

The first Olowo of owo was a direct son of Oduduwa.

When Kings were still kings withou politics, you cant rank any king above the Olowo of Owo.

There is something wrong with the order they are arranged in..
The northern rulers are just important due to the notoriety of their subjects, otherwise they would be mere figure heads

Never complete without the Olowo of Owo.

I bow o. Dein is more influential than Etsu Nupe, Olowo of Owo, Awujale, Deji of Akure?

The Dein cannot even dream of being close to Oba of Benin in history or influence. I like the Dein's youthful swag but that's not national influence.

You are absolutely correct! I have no right to question the op's list since it represent his personal views and level of exposure, but a few questions can be asked on the criteria for moving his views to the front page

3. SULTAN OF SOKOTO
The official title is Sultan of Sokoto and includes the title
“Amir-ul-Momineen”. The post has become increasingly
ceremonial since British rule, but the position of Sultan, still
carries a lot of weight with Fulani and Hausa people from
northern Nigeria. The current Sultan of Sokoto is Sultan
Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar IV and he is the 20th Sultan
of Sokoto. He took the mantle of leadership following the
death of his brother, Muhammadu Maccido who lost his life
in the unfortunate ADC Airlines Flight 53 crash. The position
accords him the honour of being considered the spiritual
leader of Nigeria’s 70 million Muslims which is roughly 50
percent of the nation’s population.
Sultan is the most influential and most powerful king in Nigeria since his the spiritual leader of muslims in Nigeria. So any king who is a muslim here in Nigeria is under him!

The OP smoked cow dung. Even Obis of Agbor used to bear Benin names. Several bore the name Gbenoba (Igbinoba).

I wonder why the Etsu Nupe, the Ata Igala and the Shehu of Borno never make lists like this. Personally, I believe these three kings are more influential/powerful than some of the rulers on the list.
