Salam, i ve read d hadith and some books concerning ghusl janabah, but they kip confusing me on how 2 perform dis bath. I kept on changing d ways i perform it whenever i read anything on it. Pls could somebody enlighten me more on it cos i dnt knw if i am doing d right thing or not. Thanks

Could you please state how you do it or how it was stated where you read it then I could see if it is what i know to be the right one. You should note that there are very slight differences of doing it and this is due to differences in fiqh. This difference i know is very slight.

ACCORDING TO SUMMARIZED SAHIH AL-BUKHARI,UNDER BOOK OF GUSUL, CHAPTER 1.

Narrated Aisha (rodiya lahu anha)the wife of the prophet (s.a.w):whenever the prophet(s.a.w)took a bath after janaba he started by washing his hands and then performed ablution like that for the salat(prayer).after that he would put his fingers in water and move the roots of his hair with them,and then pour three handfuls of water over his head and then pour water all over his body.

shafiyah:

I think the hadith cannot be taken like that, Hadiths have to be explained in context to the time and and fiqh ruling.

Ghusl jannabah according to the 4 fiqhs

1. Wash the privates
2. Wash the hair by taking water to the roots of the hair
3. Performing ablution without washing of legs
4. Pour water across the body starting from right side (In Hanafi its from the center)
5. Lastly wash the legs
6. Shahadah

You are all right.
The main thing is that water must reach all parts of your body.
Note:
1) The bathing is without soap
2) It is bid'a to use water to rub your body from your navel to the neck after the ghusl
3) there is no problem if u delay the washing of leg till after the ghusl or washing it alongside with the ablusion

Thanks a lot 4 ur post, i read d exact hadith quoted by shafiya. But wat confuses me was washing d privates, washing of hands, performing ablution and washing d feet. Wat of d other part of d body like d back, stomach, neck, chest and d leg. Thanks

As salaam 'alaykum, the general ruling of performing Ghusl is that water is evenly spread across all parts of the body. Thats why scholars say if there is a heavy downpour and you in a state of Jannabah, u can go under the rain, make your intention and make sure water touches your privates which are most times cladded by underwears. The different hadiths of Aishah and Memunah, can be summarized in the above point....

And Allaah knows best, any mistake therein is from me and I seek Allaah forgiveness from it ....

the ablution before the bath is mustahab (optional).

it can be performed in the following steps:

1.) wash your private parts clean.front and back.
2.) wash your head and ensure your head is sufficiently covered with water.
3.) wash your neck round and ensure everywhere is cleaned
4.) wash your right side of the body from up to right down to your feet-front and back.
5.) wash your left side of the body from up right down to your feet-front and back.

at this point you may use more water to wash yourself randomly.

you are good to go.


note:
1.) you may apply soap during or after the washing and there is no harm while performing the washing.
2.) you may decide to start by washing downwards toward the upper side of your body and there is no harm.the essential thing in washing your body in stages is to ensure you consciously wash every inch of your body and water cover every spot of your skin.
3.) make sure there is no ink or any mark or dirt on your body before washing.anything that could impede water from reaching any spot of your skin should be cleaned thoroughly and removed to ensure that water has reached your skin.
4.) do not forget to clean your navel.

u cant pray or fast without it

gusul is one of the biggest secret and benefit to muslims

its a must do not an option

1- use urself ( to make sure all is out )
2- wash ur head n neck ( make sure they are dry b4 u start. this is the major trick and big secret, it activate the nerves in ur neck and feeling in ur head and make u refresh n ready )
3- right side ( shoulder , cheast, hand, leg )
4- left side ( same as right ) the secret is that the heart side should be last )
5-other places organs front n back

also remeber to always do it even when u no need gusul, do ur daily bath Gusul way whether u r under Janabah or not

also remember al Hadith ( it means ) gusul between rounds makes u stronger and fresher

so when u r with ur partner do gusul between rounds u do round 1 go for gusul then u do round 2 go for gusul, etc .. round 4 gusul 5 gusul 6 7 8 9 777777777 tested and truted

also some says that gusul can be done by Jumping into a lagoon or pool or any clean water like river ( jump once to go fully under water including ur head )

Is jannabah supposed to be before or After taking Ur bath

^^^it is beta to come b4 ur normal bath because water has to cover our whole body but if it comes after our bath we will not be very sure if the water covered d whole part of d body because theres presence of some water on our body b4... Wallahu allam

I guess it is better to observe Janabah after your regular bath Ruth water and soap.

That way, you can clean out all manners of impurities (seamen inclusive) on your skin from head to the toes especially if you have oily skin like I do.

You can have your Janabah much cleaner after the soapy bath since Janabah is a soapless bath.

Ghusl Al-Janaabah (major ceremonial washing of the whole body after sexual
intercourse) can be performed in two ways:
The first way is sufficient but not the better way. Here, the person has to
pour water over his/her whole body including the roots of the hair and what is
between the fingers and the like with the intention of purification from Janaabah
(post sexual-intercourse impurity).
The second way is preferable as it fits what the Prophet Muhammad used
to do as narrated by 'Aa'ishah and Maymoonah and is found in Al-Bukhaari
and Muslims collections of Hadeeth. This Ghusl is as follows: First, the person
washes his/her private parts and then makes Wudhoo' (ritual ablution) as is
usually done before prayers; then he pours water on his/her head three times
such that the water gets to the roots of the hair. After that, the person pours
the water over his/her whole body and finally washes his/her feet.
Rubbing the hair is not sufficient in both ways, as the water has to reach the
scalp.

the niyyat is simple just make the intention in your heart, making the niyyat in words is not recommended by the prophet.

and it should be noted that as far as water touch the larger part of the body, just wash to the best of your ability....

but when you are sure that a particular spot was not touched with water after you are out of the bathroom, you don't need repeat the ghusl, just wash the wipe that part only.
