let me educate you on what abortion is. You see, abortion, us the willful termination of a pregnancy. it has to be conscious effort. that is to say the person procuring (not commiting as our people are used to saying) abortion has to do it by herself (taking drugs) or doctor (through and operation), that my friend is termed wishful termination of pregnancy Which is some places is wrong. But there is another level of abortion, where the pregnancy will lead to death of the woman and her feotus and so a doctor can with the concent of the woman or her relations, terminate the pregnancy. Tithes are meant for the 'priests', which are those who labour in the Lord's vineyard. Not only pastors fall in this category. Moreso, I think the OP meant pastors who substitute tithes for their 'take-home'. Just to point out, I was in a fellowship in school where paying of tithes was discouraged and this was because it was an evangelistic ministry so to be a member of the fellowship, you had to win souls, you had to travel on behalf of the ministry with your own funds. So pastor said since tithe is for the priests (which you are as a member of the fellowship) , pls keep your tithe and use it for your ministry. I hope others who preach against it have the same reasons. I know some churches say it is old testament tradition..... no, it was a command from God.

not entirely true.tithe is meant for helping d needy in church and outside church including pastors.check Deuteronomy 14:22-28.u will b dazed that we aren't being told truth about tithing

FYI, when you use the term "sin", you are refering to a Religious opinion. In this case, Religion is not the only perspective at play.

Exactly, people don't know that back then when Deeper Life started (1973), a lot of corrupt things were displayed on TV, no one had control over what they watched, it was without limit. Not that they said d TV itself is sin but it is what comes out of it. Now we're in the 21st century and in 2015. We have remote control and can control what we want to watch, everything is digitalised, that's the difference. I think even Pastor Tunde Bakare who was a former member of Deeper life, clarified some of these things, but a lot of folks still don't understand.

Marriage is a sacred thing, Christ attended the one at Cana without considering whether the couples involved were his followers of disciples. So we're all enjoined support the newly weds whether they are members of our church or not. And pls, nobody made u an atheist, u made urself an atheist and u are accountable to God on the Final Day. You can't blame anybody.

I was once watching pastor Ajiboye of Redeem one day on tv where he narrated how a certain man who has been trying to catch a glimpse of him on the alter with so much effort without succeeding. He said anytime the man made an effort to catch a glimpse of him, the man is always being blocked (though unconsciously) by other members of the congregation. Then, all of a sudden, the man just grew taaaalllllllll, and high above everybody in the auditorium, and he was able to see him. That was the moment I lost respect for this man of God. He even said the man's wife could not recorgnised him again. It made me wonder how and why would a PhD in Mathematics for that matter believe such a story if he was being told that, not to talk of him being the one telling such a cat and bull story. That was pathetic to say the least.

My brother, I'm sorry u feel so hurt, and it's understandable. My advice to you is, You can give up on Religion, but Don't give up on God because he won't give up on you. It may not be one, they may be many in christendom who may have done things that made u swear not to believe in God anymore, but find it in your heart to forgive and let go, and let God have his way in your life, Read the bible yourself and let God reveal his way to you.

You have a right to be angry bro....Like you I hold Religion has done more harm than good Christianity not excluded only Christ has done Good and if you believe in him and follow him like I and few on this thread are doing you will understand that God is Holy and Just.

I dont go to church again cos most of them are money hungry
Imagine a hungry man paying tithe or offering wit his last card hopin for God to replenish n then the pastor combines all the money and buys a land rover with security team
But the hungry man n trekking and broke and hoping

Cos of this i belive the church is in the heart n by doing of good deed rather than seeing of visions and jumping around doing miracles by force
