Nsogbu adighi, and Kamanu/Kamalu isn't widely used. That would explain why it sounded a bit strange or foreign to your ears, Ify. I think it is largely used in southern and eastern areas. Don't know about central, northern, or western areas.

It's Yoruba.
Means:

Come come come holy spirit
come come come almighty
come come come 
[the "o" after "wa o"means nothing, you can choose to use it or not. ]

I'm trying to read the Bible in Yoruba, understand some of the expressions.

Matthew 1:6 in Yoruba goes says:


Jesse bi Dafidi Oba. Dafida Oba si bi Solomoni lati odo aya Uria.

And here is the English of the same verse:

and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,
So what does "aya" mean in this case? I guess "aya Uria" in this case means "woman was once Uriah's wife", but I'm just trying to get a better sense of what this word means, how it might be used in other situations, etc.
