Am yet to find anyone that received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with tongues and didn't like it or didn't want it.

the oP did not say anything about faking tongues, if u want to fake it then its left with u. U will just be wasting ur time like the way most fakers do.

We're not JUSTIFIED (declared righteous) by good works! Ofcourse the bible teaches good works! Pls don't get me wrong. I believe in good works. Jesus said to let your light shine before men by your good works. Jesus himself went about DOING good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. As a Christian it's in our nature to do good works cause we have the very nature of God (eternal life).

Ur beating around the bush Bro. that my citation has said it all. Thats actually one of the many open secrets in the bible. That is one of the very few things truly required of one to inherit the kingdom.

Yes Bro the Heaven I used in the statement is if God decides to choose you whether you are prepared or not cos I`ve seen many young individuals receive the gift of the Holy spirit without even thinking of it.......

The Holy Spirit is God's gift to His children. Speaking with tongues is just an initial evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Any believer can manifest the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit. The lesser is included in the greater! Just receive Him first and enjoy all the blessings He will manifest in, with and through you. Quit arguing about tongues. Its a beautiful thing to be filled with God, you'll see the world different. Everything and everyone becomes beautiful to you. Then you understand what David meant when he said " the earth is filled with the glory of God" I repeat, the lesser is included in the greater (THE GREATER ONE)

Thats true even the individual will not be at peace with him/herself cos there is something inputed in him by God that people needs eg Spirit of Visions to see visions and to prophesy to peoples lives.....

■ Speaking in tongues is one of the spiritual gifts you manifest when you become filled with the HOLY GHOST. So many believers desire to speak in tongues but do not know how to go about it. Some even try to learn it like an ordinary language. Some attempt to successfully copy from others and speak it, but deep in them they know that it is weightless. I am only concerned about tongues here and now because it is the most prominent sign of confirmation that you have been filled with the HOLY GHOST. There I am neither here to talk about other spiritual gifts nor to even elaborate on tongues. The goal here is to tell you how to receive the Baptism of the HOLY GHOST so that you can speak in real tongues as it was at Pentecost as well as manifest any other spiritual gift the HOLY GHOST may want to bless you with. Note that it is futile for you to chase after spiritual gifts without first asking for the Baptism of the HOLY GHOST. Speaking in tongues and all other spiritual gifts like healing and prophecy are the benefits this baptism.

■ How can you be baptized with the HOLY GHOST?
1. Fasting and fervent prayer. Unless you are patient and persistent, you may lose hope while waiting. You will need to stay in waiting for a few days fasting and praying. It is not magical, it is not automatic either. Heaven looks at your seriousness and commitment. Remember the disciples fasted and prayed for many days before the HOLY GHOST fell on them as cloven tongues of fire, and they began to speak in other tongues (Acts 2:1-4).
2. Laying on of hand. Simply meet someone who is truly anointed with the HOLY GHOST. Ask the person to pray for you by laying their hand on you so that you too can be baptized with the HOLY GHOST. This was how many got filled in the early church. The apostles laid hands on people and they were baptized with the HOLY GHOST and spoke in tongues (Acts 8:14-17).
3. Desire HIM. You can be in meetings where people are being filled with the HOLY GHOST every now and then, but still you are not filled. GOD responds to strong desire for HIM. Peter didn't do much at the home of Cornelius. He was amazed at how quickly the HOLY GHOST fell upon them while he spoke to them. Cornelius, out of a strong desire for GOD, had been instructed by Heaven to send for Peter. The Baptism happened effortlessly (Acts 10:1-6, 44-47).

1. The first statement is a lie. According to John 14 vs 15 - 26, Jesus Christ's very disciples were already born-again even while He was with them, even as He promised them the "another Helper" whom He, Jesus Christ referred to as the Spirit of Truth(The Holy Spirit of God's New Covenant). And there is no record of the disciples speaking in tongues before the day of Pentecost.

2. Again, this is of assumption, as Jesus Christ never, in fact, said that the only way to become born of Spirit(of Eternal Life) is only via the laying of hands, praying, or desiring of Him - John 3 vs 1 -21. The Spirit if given as a gift to those who desire to become born-again and this is according to the Will of God.

■ There are many gifts of the Holy Spirit TO ME tongue is not the most important. Agreed that according to the Bible, speaking in tongues edifies one spirit but surprisingly the Almighty understands all languages both acquired tongues, mother tongues and even the devils tongues. And there's no evidence anywhere in the Bible that prayers are better answered when prayed in unknown tongues. I'd rather go for the gifts I consider more evidently useful to me and beneficial to people around me like spiritual power, knowledge and prophecy. Besides the tongue I considered exceptionally real gift is as recorded in Acts chapter 1 when the Holy Ghist fell on the apostles, it gave them power to speak in other languages they never learnt before so they could be able to preach to foreigners in the later own language thus making the spread of the gospel easier and more interesting.
■ I doubt if any christian has such power now. Imagine you speaking im Arabic in the midst of Arabs so u can communicate better in evangelism. That is what I consider spiritual gift not some verbose cacophony *modified* Please read Acts 2: 4-12 and 1Corinthians:14 for more understanding and guidance.

1. I don't think it is up to you to decide which gift comes first, and there is no indication that it is the one in whom the power lives in that wields control over it. What is written is that the words came out of the mouths of the disciples at the time that it did — no indication that what took place was as intended by them.

2. I highly anyone who clings to the religion of Christianity — antichrist doctrines as a foundation— can have any of the signs Jesus Christ said will follow only those who believe in Him(the Truth of God).

■ I still have pple who argue this with me. It is a wonderful gift and it makes your Christian journey way easier But it is not a criteria for getting to heaven. A Christian who doesn't speak in tongues but is bornagain and lives in righteousness will make heaven and have many crowns depending on how well he or she evangelized Meanwhile the tongue speaking brother or sister whose life didn't please God will enjoy a VIP ticket to hell.

Jesus Christ instead said that speaking in tongues is one of several signs which follow those who believe in Him, and when He said tongues, He meant actual human language and not the gibberish that pervades the religion of Christianity.
