Omo wahala no dey finish for this hustle!

I picked this lady from old secretariat ikeja to shomolu(oloja, off olorunkemi) After dropping her, I got another one from off folagoro to barikisu iyede(one lounge like that)....a guy!

I closed and drove home after dropping the guy. This lady called me and said she forgot her nokia phone in the car. Apparently she sat in front and I didn't see any phone.

So I told her that I'll check and if I didn't see it, I'll go back to the lounge and meet the guy. I drove straight to the lounge and met the guy with his friends. I pleaded with him but he told me he didn't see any phone. He showed the 2 iPhone he uses. I begged him so much but he said; sir, honestly I didn't see any phone. Then I called the lady again and she rejected my call.

I sent her a message that I'm trying to help her but she's rejecting my calls. She called not quite long to threaten me that she will find me and lock me up, and she will make sure I'm severely dealt with. She also said she will go to bolt office and report me that I'm a thieve!

Omo I just taya for all these wahala! Wetin be all these temptation for God's sake?

Maybe I should just leave bolt and continue with my indrive. I no dey get all these yamayama wahala for indrive.

Meanwhile I told her that I'm innocent and whatever she wants to do, she should go ahead.

That is the 'psychological effect' and the yamayama you see on this job..It's such a meltdown for me and for many drivers..Reason why I don't comment on Uber driver/salary work on this space again.. Quite funny when people say they love and prefer the job because they are their own boss, they CONTROL everything and NEARLY EVERYTHING is under their feet! Dey play..
This job, like most job out there can make you MAD!!!
You might probably be mad already and you don't know...If you see how one olosho talk to me recently ehn, me wey I say make I no drive empty, baba I drive empty for two weeks I no send...had to sit it out make the insult melt...this job na werey job o, if the tin no dey affect you, you're lucky..Maybe you be werey too

Wait, why are you shivering over this, did you see any phone in your car?
How are you sure the phone was even left in your car, just tell her you can't find any phone in your car and that's all.

If she reports you, let them know immediately she called you, you searched your car and you couldn't find any phone and you're so sure the phone wasn't misplaced in your car, she should look elsewhere abeg....

She got nothing on you except you don't know how to defend yourself, even if she actually left it in your car, you can't find it and you're not the one who made her forget it, she should be responsible for her own carelessness....

There was a day a guy forgot his phone at the back seat of my car, it was a very good rider that called my attention to it, I took the guy on indrive and apparently, he has informed indrive of the missing phone and they sent me pop up message with his phone number and I called him but I let him know that if another person I carried after him has taken the phone, there will be nothing I could have done other than tell him I can't find his phone and he said that's true and he would have taken responsibility for loosing his phone....

The truth is, I didn't see any phone when I dropped her and the guy swore that he didn't take any phone.

I even sent her a message that I'm ready to come back to where I dropped her, if she wants, but she didn't reply me.

Thanks Jare, baba

That's the f....ing entitlement mentality Bolt gave these riders..
Too proud and condescending in their approach..
Adults that don't want to take responsibility..

No fear jare, make she go anywhere, you no see any phone in your car and she should proof it she lost the phone inside your car, if she can't proof, nah she lost her phone and she should take responsibility for it.

Very nonsense person.

This makes me remember this foolish couple that left their purse inside my car, I took them from this estate beside northwest in ajah to ikota, price was 2600 on indrive, they branch a supermarket and I told them that this doesn't work on indrive that they can't be branching somewhere and be wasting my time, nah so the woman started saying nonsense that other drivers don't complain and they will branch anywhere before going to the booked destination, I just told her, well, that's other driver and not me. I waited and took them to where they booked, after dropping them inside lekki county, I got a ride just like 2mins after dropping them from ikota GRA and I went straight to my next rider, immediately I got there waiting for my next rider, they called me and said they forgot purse inside my car, I just said which kind wahala be this, nah so the lady started saying I don't have customer relation bla bla bla. I tried to tell her to come to lekki county gate so I can just pass there and drop the purse before heading to oniru, imagine this lady said I should bring it down to where I dropped them, despite explaining that I already have a new ride.

She cut the call, then I call her back to tell her again to meet me at the lekki county gate junction and collect the purse but it was her husband that picked my call, nah so that one just said, so I stole his purse and I don't want to return it, that statement just triggered me and I told him you're very stupid and foolish, I stole your purse or you carelessly forgot your purse, I just cut the call immediately and left, after like a month, she called me and I said I'm not mobile for now and the only thing I can do is to order dispatch to bring her purse to her, she said okay I should order it and pay the dispatch, I just told her that it seems she's not ready to take her purse back.

What's inside the purse?, power bank, a cord and a glass...

No dispute, the job has psychological effect, can't count how many times the job has made me angry unnecessarily, anytime I get a bad day from the job, I will just look for a trip that will take me home, before this fuel increment, anytime I'm having a bad day, even if I'm in ajah under bridge, I will blow empty from there till I get home but now, even if I'm in Yaba, I will want to wait for a trip that will bring me closer to ilupeju or mushin and waiting for that kind trip when I'm already vexed will just be adding to my frustration....

Pls on indrive nearest ride request is not popping out on my phone until I search for it myself which was not so before..... Kindly help on how to set it right

That's how indrive works, those nearest trip that isn't popping up is simply because, enough drivers already bided for the trip and that's why you ain't getting pop up notification, the ones you're getting pop up notification for are the ones that few drivers or no drivers are biding for and reason why you see many senseless drivers pressing their phone while on motion looking for trips so they don't get to miss good trip...

This part makes me hate indrive so much, showing hundreds of driver 1 single trip and I'm suspecting bolt may also adopt this strategy of sending 1 trip to many drivers at once for anyone interested to accept...

. As per rider discount, you are not taking the brunt.
Bolt is giving riders part or all of the commission you were supposed to pay.

Let's run a scenario. If the trip ends 5000 ..

Bolt says " collect 3500 From RiderX , Bolt will add
1500."

From that trip, you are meant to pay Bolt 25% ( its actually around 24.3 - 24.6%) commission. This amounts to 1,250. This is the amount they gave as discount to the rider.

So Bolt adds the remaining 250 naira as CREDIT to your Pocket balance in the app. There's no confusion.

As per downsizing.,Benin n PH staff were mostly affected, PH and Benin are not really lucrative for ehailing, PH is overrated, a lot of it's residents can't afford ehailing.

As per Lagos, Bolt has not been making money like it used to. Coupled with the senseless blocking of their revenue agents ( drivers) on flimsy issues on acceptance rates n driver's score.
Let's say you have 4000 drivers delivering, then you pursued 1500 out of pride. Obviously, a revenue drop should be expected.

Bolt can't leave Nigeria esp Lagos grin..I feel the editor / journalist just added that rider to make the article sensational cool

Ha! In a tense situation like that, don't do the mistake of going to meet rider in their comfort zone to explain what kwanu ? A mob may be waiting for you. Na naija we dey Ooo.. people wey no even know how e take start will jump into conclusion.

You even waste your fuel go dey meet another rider accusing him of stealing a phone. That's another mistake because if nah werey rider u go meet, dem go change am for you.

That rider that refused to pay initially but later paid, God know say if nah me I will not even go on that trip from the beginning because the red flags are already there.

I try as much as I can to avoid toxic riders. Me self get my own frustrations for head but I try as much as I can not to pass it onto another person.

Last Sunday I got a request around 10pm from lekki going to ikeja, normal normal, nah very juicy trip for me that stays on the mainland. But the attitude of the rider made me cancel after like one minute talk over the phone.

Me: Good evening ma, I will be there in 7 minutes going by Google map.
Rider : Did not even return the greetings. Just start coming, be fast and that 7 minutes is too much.
Me : Still maintaining my cool, I already told you how long it will take, sometimes it might not be up to that. Can you wait for 7 minutes ?
Rider : Oga stop talking too much and start coming.
Me : Just ended the call, cancel and set my destination back.
E no pass like that.

Also, drivers should make sure that their inner lights are working very well, so that anytime a rider alights, there would be enough light for you and the rider to see any item a rider is about to leave behind.

The Bolded is fact not an insinuation, some riders are demonically possess. Some riders, spirit of violence dey follow them, some spirit of death, some spirit of badluck. The ones with badluck. Once you carry them your car will start developing fault, you go dey spend unnecessary and unbudgeted money on your car through out that day, week or month. Is either you collide with someone's car, or some one collide with your car. Or you got even enter police or Lastma wahala. Or even get accident. Those ones with spirit of violence, nah dem dey bring up issues that will lead to physical fight, assault and false accusations wey dey make BOLT block drivers accant grin

A friend of mine once picked a rider from one club at surulere at night going to ikoyi, when they got to Obalende. She ask him to end the trip at ikoyi road where they have ikoyi passport office, she got down from car and threw transport fare to him through the car windows. My guy was sitting in the car, as he bent down to pick up the money and he raised his head. The rider he carried turned to a big dark image and disappeared near the cemetery there.

He said immediately his head began to swell up and goosebumps were all over his body. After that encounter he fell sick for days.

This job makes someone vulnerable to assault, physical and spiritual attack, if you no dey spiritually strong or your head no strong. You go see shege banza.

You know how many drivers wey dey carry spirit thinking they dey are carrying human, Most especially at night. I no blame some drivers wey dey put Big Bible on top Dashboard grin

Omo make I leave this story for another day.

Boss no vex oo… how you take they talk? E b like you deh very soft. Person go threaten me and I’ll tell him or her to go ahead. You see why you need a touch of violence. This doesn’t make you a bad person, but it’s the world we are living. Balancing is very important. I swear down that girl no go sleep that night, I’ll personally bring trouble to her doorstep. There’s a reason why they always say car park at owner’s risk. Anyone that enters a car should be able to take care of his or her belongings. Boss never go soft on anyone that threatens you, match the fire for fire immediately.

Here is another reason I just don’t like Bolt.

I’ll still fault the app companies and the kind of mindset they’ve given the riders. Indrive has made it so easy that you don’t have to start your trip and no lateness. I don’t even disturb myself to arrive till I get to destination. At slight werey, I’ll cancel trip and let’s go on a personal ride.

Pearl hope all is well?

Bro calm down. There is nothing to worry about here, This is one of the reasons it's essential as a driver to be registred on multiple apps. Try and report the issue to BOLT ASAP.
I had a similar experience sometime ago. I picked this couple from ikotun to sheraton hotel, ikeja on a sunday. They sat at the back seat. The next rider i picked was the one who saw the phone they forgot on the back seat and gave it to me. The owners of the phone called me after like 30 mimutes that they left their phone in my car and luckly for them i was around kudirat abiola way. I told them if i have to bring the phone back they will pay me for the trip, i checked on bolt app and took a screenshot of the price and sent it to them. They agreed on the price. I drove down to sheraton they paid me my money and i handed them their phone. I got another trip from the same sheraton hotel and continued my work......

I won't lie you, this hustle is like occultic group, once you're in, to leave will be very difficult.

It takes the grace of God and focus to leave.

I've known some people that have been in this hustle for more than 3 years and they can't boast of 100k in their account or even have a car of their own.

Another person, once he doesn't work in a day, it will affect that day feeding, if his car has just brake pad issues, he will borrow money to fix it and such person isn't even thinking of doing something else, he's stuck with the hustle till miracle will happen in his life...

This hustle is only good for a single and focus man, any family man doing this business will find it very difficult to exit....

How many drivers can boast of having 500k sitting in their account for more than 6months without touching it...

The hustle is only good to sort direct bills and upkeep but for investment purpose, you won't be able to meet up with that, especially if you're a family person...

I don drop key, climb bded back. Clap for yourself.
. grin grin grin. Very funny. I won the WW1, followed by WW2. Now patiently waiting for WW3 to retire from service

My monicker wasn't chosen by mistake or coincidence. I don see many many things for this hustle Bro.

Economy aside, the hustle self won't let you save, the moment you feel you have saved something, fiam, car issue will take it back...

How many drivers can boast of having 500k sitting in their account for more than 6months without touching it...

The hustle is only good to sort direct bills and upkeep but for investment purpose, you won't be able to meet up with that, especially if you're a family person...

Haaa not alone, when they say most of the drivers are doing well and can blow that money on vacations?
grin

I can't believe you are just getting to know that you will find it hard to leave the job if you are not determined to leave. Not everyone can handle the mental health that comes with the job. Like play, the person here that started 2022 said he just wants to gather funds from Uber within one year to go full time on his electronics business is still here with no leaving time in sight.

it gives you that sense of security of steady inflow of cash on a daily basis, and creates that euphoria of fear of the unknown. Like "what if things didn't work out as planned if I leave bolt". I can tell you, every one will have to face this challenge. Just like ehailing has it's challenges other businesses do too. We just need to be bold and courageous. Ehailing is just a stepping stone to greatness, let's not be contented.
