What is surprising is that people claim that MTN is
ripping them off yet they are too scared to port
to another network.
That tells me that MTN is doing many things right otherwise they will
have lost most of their subscribers.

I believe all this attacks on MTN is just to put them on their toes
not that they are the worst network as they are being portrayed.

Why will anyone want to stick with an alleged oppressive
, fraudulent and crappy mobile network ?

Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with MTN.

This south Africans are stupid, they violate simple laws and when fined they threaten that there are hundreds of thousands of nigerians working for them that can loose their jobs. Shoprite made this same kind of threat a while ago. This is just absurd, and more like a hostage situation. I think we are doing them a favour and not the other way round. Their contribution in our GDP cant be compared to the huge market we offer across the world or the profits they realise investing in Nigeria. I think the government should withdraw their license and sell to a more responsible operator. As for the staffs the economy is big enough to reabsorb them. Rubbish

I can bet my girlfriend they no fit waka....waka liv d biggest market in Africa ? Make they try am nam..useless telecom. What they gain in lagos alone is more than what they gain in 5 con3 in southern Africa alone..so they waka they suffer bro....anoda company wey dey annoy me is multichoice imagine them giving pay-per-view to other Africa con3 but giving us largest subscribers in Africa monthly duration (where u watch u no watch o when it's 30days they cut u off) south Africa companies extorting us since their inception.

Even if MTN has fail in the directive of NCC,it is not the only company to so in Nigeria.
One of the main reasons they target MTN is simply because it is a foreign company which is not influenced by certain group of people.
The never believed they would become this sucessful, unlike political transcrop which could not run Nitel successfully.
They though it was about buying assessts, now they they understand that assesst without management policy is trash.
Why not glo or etisalat on the news. What about the oil companies, this is all politics.
MTN has done more good than harm compared to other companies in Nigeria. It has provided jobs, connectivity and made life easier for Nigerians.
The amount is unrealistic,Nigerian politicians destroy anything that they cannot gain from or control directly.

They should realise that MTN has already made their profit in Nigeria. Most of the top level management now has been handed over to Nigerians. The owners are now in south africa recieving reports on returns. They are even about to list on Nigerian stock exchange.

So whatever fine you give them, will still affect Nigerians. They will lay off Nigerian staff to meet up.

Though NCC and the ogas in abuja will share the money, but some Nigerians with families will loose their jobs in this harsh economy. Will NCC employ them?

When i hear people say chase MTN out, i laugh. MTN has left Nigeria, anything you do to MTN now, it is Nigerians that suffer it.

Please DSTV should be next . But that fine is way too much, these NCC guys dey vex gan !! Is it not Nigeria? If MTN should play their cards well, meet the right people, they will end up paying only a quarter of that money.

They won't even pay up to a quarter.. NCC acting like they Really fighting for us meanwhile they are just looking for means to enrich their pockets... Mtcheeew
