I sculpt every thing when i model, incliding the vitals.

There was/is a need to be a god of perfection , of detail ...every CG guy and increasingly girls, wants to be a god.

Zedoo pointed out disparances with the positions/lengths of the arms and upper torso. It pays to be a fully grounded Master. I am grateful for his observations, even, he drew a figure to show me how the human torso x positioned in relation to the Limbs...

With this work, i did my very first Camera technique: Blades and Bokeh....
It was fun.

Comparison Three: Of Rat with Gala And A Tiger wt salivaless tongue

I love the rat. Yes.
The hair might be a bit roughshod but....I love the rat.

The only technical challenge in project is The Gala. You know, its always super weird to explain to some pple that, as a xter designer, i cant model non-character objects with ease.

The Rat took four hours to model. my fastest so far. The gala took a day.....yap, a day.

The most important take away from the Rat job x my full time exposure to Blender's Cycle Rendering and Materials setup. I think this x my first job wt it this year.
I still ve problems with organic material setups in cycles.

That period I was fixated with quadrupeds. I spent enjoyable moments videotapping my dog walking, going around in cycles, rolling his long pink tongue and looking so adorable like only dogs can.

I have rigged this Cat. But to animate it ....i dont have the inspiration yet. Maybe next year i will use it for a project and correct cetain obvious mistakes with it.

The obvious mistakes: The tiger eyes from side view are a bit deep set esp around the corner. And of course that the buccal cavity wil need a few more Gums and teeth.

And the tongue....its Moistless

Most people find it hard to believe when I get super upset on a failing laptop. they'd say upon all of life's trouble in Nigeria, a laptop (one guy said, ordinary laptop) makes you want to tip into insanity. Yeah, there's a thin line btwn depression and insanity and when that thing that makes you happy, that makes you make others happy is taken away from you.....You try all you can to get it back. even if it means going into thangs that u vowed not to do.
To think that I will seek money doubling online....chai

When ur sstem x away from you, those activities once eclipse by ur devotion to it...surfaces in the murky waters of ur existence.

Now I am vigorously refreshing my playlists and wishing for a new book from Thomas Harris. When will I be phucking matched. Lawd i cant take this any longer, Two weeks gone, no laptop.

FINALLY, I've got enough funds , I am now building my own graphics workstation. I've gotten over my failed...in short officially Dead, HP Envy.

My movt to Lagos has its advantages when it comes to sourcing cheap components, now I see. I can see Alaba from my backyard

Does every 3D designer need to build a custom PC? No. But there is a value in it.
Someone advised me to get an Apple system but if most of us are honest with ourselves, using Windows is not a real problem, since we spend most of our time in our applications, and the user experience is 99% the same in those applications.

I would love to get my self a Mac but then all of my CG applications (The price value of most them (cracks), is enough to buy An Acura ZDX) are made for windows-64 bit and I ve forgotten the underground sites where I got most of the catalogues.

So I went on spurious research (of course I had some practical knowledge about coupling PCs, but not intense workstations)using several pc building sites like http://blog.grabcad.com/blog/2015/07/28/kick-ass-cad-workstation-build/

So what am i looking at.... A simple 8-core , 16-thread rendering node, 2.6 Ghz (3.0 Ghz effective clock due to all-core turbo feature) E5 2670 (v1) Xeons server station. Yeah, so simple.
If you feel uneasy about buying used CPUs (which I presume could have seen 3 years of use), do not. The current crop of Intel CPUs, have been for quite some time, literally indestructible. More so given these spent their former life in cooled server rooms, without option of over-clocking, running on conservative voltage and low 115W consumption. In short, they will keep running another 10 years easily (thats what intel said, not me). Mine came in looking like new, well...almost.

Most older Server boards are cheap, but one serious disadvantage is that it can lack features as USB 3.0, audio chip and enough PCI-Express slots or other features . You have have to buy additional PCI cards to supplement the missing features.

Another thing x while source for this components, It’s important to note case and board size compatibility. The case dictates the height of the tower (how far the cooler tower heatsink or fans would reach), but the board and its layout can also affect the size and type of your cooler.

So here's it what i got
- 2x Xeon E5-2670v1 LGA 2011, C2(SR0H8)
- Asus Z9PE-D8 WS (motherboard).....I scurried around Ikeja village or is it computer village just to hook this.
- 16GB DIMM DDR3 RAM @ 1600MHZ (its best to buy unbuffered ECC memory )
- Samsung EVO-HDD
- nVidia GT 720, passive cooled
- CPU Coolers (A powerful 150mm fan in Noctua U12s)
So what can keep a 115W Xeons running in good temperature ? Pretty much anything. Solid narrow heatsink with 90-120mm fan from reputable brand will do just fine, since they don’t output a lot of heat. Hair simulations , I sight you.
