There are 65million internet users in Nigeria....... sit down for a minute let that sink in...then ask yourself this question again.

My brothers and sisters don't be deceived. Online business requires more hard work on like offline. Note: online business not for lazy people.

And a huge number of them are highly sceptical about doing business with a faceless stranger from cyberspace.

It is working and it is not working. I say it is working because I have been in it for 8 years now ( exactly 8 by March next year ) and I enjoy every bit of it. It is has been rewarding, sweet, challenging, frustrating and exciting in equal measure for me.

However, I say it is not working for Nigeria because of the mentality. Many people want to teach things they do not know and there are those who are merely interested in pulling down others. I see many posts of "make xyz amounts of money" online from Nigerians whereas they themselves have not used these methods. They only read it works and viola, they start selling ebooks on it.

For me, I am happy I was able to figure the behaviour of Nigerians in IM and quickly made a change. I do my things secretly in my house without making any noise to anyone. It really isn't noise but people are more interested in pulling others down.

Sold my site for $10,000 on flippa recently, told a friend about it only for him to go create a clone of that site knowing full well I signed a no compete agreement. It is the same reason we see many Linda Ikeji clones out there, same reason we see many nairaland clones out there.

People do not want to work but want to make money. They do not want to study, they don't want to invest in themselves.

Thats why it's always good to have a professional online presence... but of course, this things don't just happen at once... with time, patience and determination, anybody can make it...but this 3 things are luxirous in Nigeria.. Nigerians want it to happen like film, hence the failure of many online entrepreneurs and the constant asking of questions like the Op's. smiley

Oh and Online business doesn't necessarily mean buying from online stores and selling offline....there are tons of services one can provide... but then again..what you said about sceptism comes to play when dealing with Nigerians.

Exactly!!!!..... most people just see people doing something, hear they make money from it and chook head without knowing what they're doing and when they fail, they start foaming from the mouth about how internet business is a scam.

I for one will NEVER buy any "internet money ebook" ..Never!!... you know why?..because this informations are out there for free if you devote time and energy to look for them... but our "brothers" always want to chop.

No, the information is really not there. I am a site flipper, I have bought a site for $2000, made over $10,000 from it then sold the site for $10,000, I have bought a site for $400 made over $3000 from it within 3 months and now about to sell it for at least $12,000. My methods, I am 100% sure is not out there. And if it is, it is not in an ebook. For sure

I can choose to write an ebook on my methods and share it all. However, not all marketers too that. They share some of the information, not all of the information.

It depends on what you want. There is a nairalander ( he is reading this as he follows me here ), I am mentoring, he has bought several ebooks, read everything online but no success. This is is first month with me, I am sure he would make at least $700 this month.

It is small but for someone who have spent 2 years online and got nothing, it is big.

I would rather pay a mentor who has proven record and if I am to buy an ebook, it must be from someone who has done it and has records to show for it.

Yes online business is working and its for real except that Nigerians are a lot skeptical about it. You can only make money online when you are open minded. And yes I av just started making mine. NOTE!!! It has been said that in no distance future, online marketing will be dominant

Re: Online Business: Do People Really Sell Online In Nigeria? by Jarus(m): 4:07pm On Nov 26, 2015
At JarusHub, its working for us.

99% of the people that have patronised our services knew about us online (Facebook, Google, Nairaland and of course, our website, JarusHub).

One single post on a Nairaland thread earned us more than 500k in revenue sometime early this year cheesy

Interestingly, we have seen clients from Germany and India who came across us through Google and I was surprised they paid us without any hesitation (before the service). We thought they would be skeptical, given what they may have known about Nigeria as Capital of Online Fraud.

I think online business is here to stay. The trust factor is gradually being overcome.

You don't need to spend to make money online.. You can start a free blog or in-stagram. You need skills..

If you spend and don't income within 24 hours then you're doing things wrongly..

Never buy any "earn online book" or "guru products"... The information is available for free..

Since 2007 I have been working from home doing internet business. I have made fortunes and still making good money. But most of us are in impatient. We are looking for get-rich-quick business. Some are also not experienced when it comes to researching opportunities in google. Most stop at page one of google taking mere bloggers, in search of traffic, for experts and thereby missed great opportunities. If I have listened to hateful bloggers I would not have made what you see here attached in just 4 months! By January this year I should be averaging 1000 euros weekly. Online business is a goldmine folks!
