im a cat lover and every time i open the pet section to look for cat thread,the dog threads are so many that i leave the room out of frustration

Datz becos an African man mentality is different from the white in the scene dat as Africans we prefer to keep dog as pet than others especially cats in culture it say cats are witch and snakes demonic. let's change d mentality then pet section will improve.

Secondly, what is the nature of that better we agitate for? Is it post wise? Or bringing in something else? Please we need to be concise in our agitation...

We need segments, subsections. "Dog sales" "about dogs" "help" "breeds" something like that to categorize the section not just having everything muffled up.

We need to know you're our mod, when we ask for help you come up. When we mail you respond. When we cry foul you come make clarification. Push better posts to FP not posts that makes pets section peeps look like weirdos.

not just segments for dogs alone buh for other pets too, cats, birds.....

Permit me to say, if we keep seeing posts like these, we will remain where we are and the petsection will keep losing experts in d field.

People have never contributed to this section, yet they make the section a dumping ground for adverts.

My opinion, create a subsection for adverts...and let the pet lovers have the section to themselves.

The petsection shld be an avenue to discuss pet related matters, seek advices and urgent needs for pets...but all we see nowadays are all adverts. The good topics go down the thread list whereas adverts keep coming in every now and then. It's becoming boring, bleeding boring.

Prodeegee, this is the moderator you were talking about, not even active in pet section to start. Don't even know if he owns a pet...

Seun all we need here is active moderator, you were once active here, if you are too busy to be the mod here, just pick one active person from pet section to do that. I think it's better this way than giving it to someone you haven't visited the section for once.

since most of the suggestions pointed out so far is about creating subsections and the mods are the ones to do that, the next step is how to get their attention here, mentioning mods! mods!! won't work.

Gradually we have less reasons to check the pet section when all we find are adverts, adverts, adverts and the few of us that wanna make an impact they don't let us. Seun na u b d oga of NL including the pet section, make improvements here as u do on other sections too.

I only discovered nairaland last year March. And when I saw there was a pet section I was really excited. But now it's only mostly adverts I see. There's nothing wrong in adverts but I really do think there needs to be sub-sections. And the fact that the mod of the pet section puts out the strangest topics on the front page. I think he does it on purpose just to get people to comment rubbish. I don't think the pet section really needs any topic on the front page. Anyone who is a genuine animal lover will find the pet section.

Does this section have a mod ?? That's the most shocking piece of news I got this year!

Hmm....... Have been looking out for the success of this POST, since kynte created it late last year. I'm surprise that it wasn't successful. Even the mod commented once...... And only few peoplewhose names where mentioned came out to talk; that is to say they are happy with the way things are going........ I think there lots of work to be done here in the Pet section.
