Labaran Maku made the pledge (verbal donation) but didn't make the payment. Read the NGE's official statement.

These NGE guys are beating about the bush. We are not asking about the pledge. We are asking about the payment itself. 

We know it was the presidency who pledged to donate N50m to them but was the payment done through the office of the NSA or not?

The other guys being probed would also claim the presidency made the promise. But the question is who made the payment (Was it Dasuki?) and from which source (Was is from the Arms Fund?). They should certainly know whether it was Dasuki who paid them the money or not. They should come clean.

And why would they be collecting money from the government in the first place? Isn't that corruption?

Jonathan Donates N50m For NGE Secretariat
President Goodluck Jonathan, Thursday, donated N50 million to support the ‎building of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) secretariat.
The donation was announced at the N850 million fund raising dinner by Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, who represented the President at the event, held at the Transcorp Hilton hotel, Abuja.

Bros are you having problems with comprehension? Where did NGE distance themselves from Nduka. They accepted that they received the money from the presidency (although they claim it was via transfer and not cash as alledged). If you read further you'd see that they are blaming Buhari and not Nduka in this DasukiGate saga. They claim he is trying to get back at them.

This shouldn't be swept under the rug. The NGE and Femi(as then President) have the moral responsibility of returning the said N50m back to the Federal Government. Otherwise, they should be prosecuted.

The main issue here is Nduka Obiagbena is looking for someone to drag inside mud with him after he confessed to have collected N670m from #Dasukigate
