Martin onovo was just jumping up and down. Economy revival to pre election, to election to post election. He was asked if the budget is in line as a resolution to the current and unseen problems. Well he disagreed but was expected to buttress it with some vital point. Chamber even helped him by giving him a vital point which is d fiscal policy instead of him to move on with the point he was rather teaching philosophy. "Mark the government poor or high with critical point to back your assessment", that was what they asked him. He only marked with no point to show except for the recurrent expenditure and reduction in ministry which he raised as a point, aside that he is still a learner when it comes to policy and its formulation.

But maupe really took it personal. She should have shown some professionalism there. That is not too good for her profile

Nice debate I must say. Very intelligent discussions.

Reminds me of Tony Blair's era in the parliament.

We need all these constructive debates to forge ahead as a nation...not docility and O yes in everything.

One bottle of origin for you!

Epic response to a deluded bigot....

Its amazing when our youths stare truth in d face and still spit trash to cover up truth.

Wailerz or Liars Nigerian youths should rise above bigotry and remove partisan thinking cap especially when critical economic issues are being discussed.

Channels TV are losing it fast.

They appear to be competing with TVC nowadays on who would do more biased reportage and spread damning more propaganda.

nothing wrong with the statement, the "we" as used is to signify majority and does not necessarily mean she voted APC, I even doubt if she voted on election day. The context the word was used does not signify the corrupt meaning pained minds like you decode .

Thank you for answering the wailer. What is wrong for her saying we voted change , after all, Nigerians were confronted with TWO slogans , either Change or Transformation! Since the former won then it's logical for her to say that.

Its obvious that Sulieman and Maupe don't listen, they were just in a haste to jump in, and ask unnecessary questions hoping to disgrace their guests. Shameful!! Onovo said 'INDICATION', Suleiman and Maupe said 'DIRECTION', they insisted that was what he said even said they would play back the tape, when infact they were wrong. Bad journalism!!! Suleiman, Listen properly next time and dont make a fool of yourself.

I wish I had watched the interview on TV
My take on this is: every individual has a right to express his or her opinion in as much as it will profer solution to our current economic situation. Mr Onovo has just done that. He may not have represented the view or interests of 140 million Nigerianns but am sure there is something we can learn or take from what he has pointed out irrespective of his ethnicity or polital class. That's the way to move forward.

Please Who knows when it will be aired again on channels

"There is no amount of revenue that is enough or a visionless and wasteful government" - Martin Onovo.

This quote is what all well meaning Nigerians need to take away from this interview. Our governments have been wasteful since 1978.
I don't give a ratzazz about Maupe. She has never impressed me.

Eruditor:

You are sounding as emotive as Onovo, makes me suspect you hail from the same ethnicity as him (which seems to be the basis of support most politicians get).

1. The question he asked about 1.9M votes is blanket and misleading. First, he assumes there were no voided votes but that's not what the figures posted by INEC claims. Second, he uses Kano as an example but not Rivers state or Akwa-Ibom that were FAR too glaring and nationally recognised as marred with rigging. Third, he makes a case for underage voters but seems to imply it is for APC when no evidence exists to support such a stance.

And to think of the fact that he got there by implying that elections didn't hold at all and as such PMB has a fake mandate.

Maupe was right by saying we voted change. She is right because the declared WINNER of the election ran on a campaign mantra that screamed CHANGE. She wasn't being partisan.

2. That you claim you didn't hear PMBs cert issue come up shows you are towing the same line of incredulity that Onovo tried to play when he was called out for implying that he didn't believe in the judiciary. Onovo alluded to it by saying it would've been a WASTE if he had gone to the courts to question the elections. This simply means he doesn't believe in the courts AKA He doesn't believe in the judiciary.

The PMB cert issue was implied furtively when he said Mike Ozekhome went to court to challenge the validity of PMBs candidacy. Manny4life, incase you do not know, Mike Ozekhome went to court on behalf of PDP to argue that PMB had no cert and should be rendered invalid as far as being the presidential candidate for APC. So yes, that was how Onovo alluded to it.

3. The part of a budget being presented 4 months and you not having heard of it calls for concern as to whether you know about Nigeria or if you just type willy nilly. I cannot remember more than twice in GEJs 6 years that his budget (that he never presented to the NA BTW) wasn't months late.

Stop playing politics and trying to feign your concern for Nigeria. You are still bitter that GEJ lost the elections. The constant talk about economic direction is becoming hackneyed and played out. Even mentioning Dasuki and Metuh already shows where you stand- oblivious of reality and bitter.
Oh my, i didnt see this earlier, i could not have said it any better.

How someone could have problem with pmb's 1.9 million votes in kano state, officially the most populous state, but no problem with gejs 1.4 millon votes in Rivers state or gejs 1.3 million votes in delta state eludes me. Delta /Rivers had roughly 75% voters turnout compared to kanos less than 55% voters turn out, he didnt feel something might be fishy, as the 75% is way higher than the 50%+ national average voters turn out?

Human beings are emotional, but when we allow emotions take absolute control of us, it totally beclouds our reasoning.

What this government needs is sincere criticism, but not from a band of pained losers who have failed to make their criticisms constructive, just because they cant get over a loss.
