"Jesus Lied About Prayer. . .?" find out now!

Jesus is quoted many times in the Bible saying that a believer can ask for anything through prayer and receive it. He even goes so far as to say that mountains and trees can be thrown into the sea simply by praying for it. This is clearly a lie, and can be proven to be a lie by any believer. Simply pray for me to be converted to Christianity right away. Or better yet ask God to move the mountains behind my house. He could make a lot of converts that way. If I’m converted today, I’ll post a public apology on my threads and devote my life to kissing God’s ass. If I’m not converted it would only be fair for you to apologize and devote your life to kissing my butt.

Here are the quotes from Jesus that proves that he lied:

1) And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS)

2) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 NAB)

3) Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20 NAS)

4) Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25 NAB)

5) And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11:9-13 NAB)

6) And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14 NAB)

7) If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. (John 15:7 NAB)

cool It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. (John 15:16 NAB)

9) On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. (John 16:23-24 NAB)

A lot of Christians ignore what Jesus actually says in the Bible. They also tend to add things to the actual words to make them say something else. If you honestly and truthfully read these quotes, without adding to them, it is very easy to see that Jesus is not saying that God will think about your prayers. He says God will grant all your prayers. Clearly, God doesn’t grant all prayers and this proves that Jesus was a habitual liar.

in addition the brilliant ones already know the Bible is "Twisted written"-and has played a great roll in the life of many less privillage.,anyway stop secrets must definately be exposed to the interest only.

As far as I know; whoever truly believes in him won't ever say Jesus (p.b.u.h) lied. If it's said Bible then I'll agree for we are not the first to say so. You folks without being forced have already said so.

you need to go one step further and explain how each of these verses amounts to a LIE, otherwise ur post is plain STUPID.

''An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered'' proverbs 11:9, my friend you are of little wisdom or should i say none, do you know that moses with prayer was able to part the red sea, and Jesus walked on water, cursed a tree to die from its roots? am sure u dont believe in yourself as a person( the man is who wins is the one who thinks he can), if you believe you can move a mountain (obstacle, trial, tribulation, challenges), all you need to do is to say to it ''move'' and not doubt in your heart (having unshakeable faith) it will move, believe me i'm a living testimony.

Dont try to sell Jesus like Judas did. I know that trick. Stick to your Quran. Jesus is the Prince of peace and he does not need your type of peace preached in your books. The writer of your book is the Prince of the Air belzebub.

now to more serious Issues

@gaga4luv

So Jesus lied. What are you going to do about it? Since you have decided to harden your heart to God there is no need of you coming here to explain to us.

When you cease to exist as micheal jackson did, I hope you will have enough strength to stand before God to prove to him he lied. He has mercy over you that is why you are still breathing. Once his mercy for you expires that is the end. I just hope you would have entered the NOAH'S ARK by then.

God help you and me
Re: Jesus Lied by Nobody: 8:30pm On Jul 01, 2009
@Ogaga4Luv

It seems to me that you didn't read those scriptures you quoted - or you red only parts of them. The condition for answered prayers is faith, unwavering faith. Not everyone can lay hands on the sick, and watch them get healed before their very eyes, or speak to the dead and have them jump up. Why? Because people have different levels of faith. Not simply by praying fo it, but simply by praying IN FAITH for it.

About praying for you to get saved, I'll give you a practical example. I find it difficult to pray for some of my friends who aren't saved because by their actions and the things they do, it's difficult for me to see them in my mind's eye as saved people burning with passion for the things of God.

Thirdly, not everyone knows the right way to pray.

Good.

Proof of my prior assertion:

In the Preface to The Holy Bible (Revised Standard Version), the Committee charge with revising it express that the Bible underwent alterations, additions and omissions. P.1v: "Sometimes it is evident that the test has suffered in transmission but none of the versions provide a satisfactory restoration. Here we can only follow the best judgment of competent scholars as to the most probable reconstruction of the original text."

The promises of God is yea and Amen in christ Jesus.
if you have no relationship with Jesus at the moment, you are NOT QUALIFIED to make an acceptable or right comment on whatever is written in the Holy Bible.
God is sovereign and all His promises are conditional on we as humans making the request fulfilling our part.
He will not grant a request that set at nought any of His commandments. He will not also grant any request that violate the free will He has given to man. Any prayer for someones salvation or conversion will only have effect if there is/are any factors holding the person's will in bondage e.g if some other powers are making the individual not to be able to exercise his free will- then God can answer a prayer for deliverance of that individual. The person thereafter still has the responsibility to accept or reject God.
When Jesus said ask any 'mountain to move', did u read of any physical mountain He moved to the sea when He was walking around in Palestine?
If you have a good knowledge of English language then it means you are making stupid and foolish assertions about the words of Jesus Christ. Otherwise I advise you to go and learn more on the use of languages- metaphor, idioms, parables, proverbs and literal meaning of words.

The above is very true. I would never attempt to explain something written in the Quran. Because I'm not supposed to understand it. The same goes for the Bible.

A lot of the atheists and Muslims on Nairaland believe that they can hit home, or we'll yell touch'e when you guys say some things. Here's where you've gotten it wrong - true Christians look to the Bible for what's right and wrong. Not to some atheist or Muslim. If we told you some of the things the Bible said about you guys then you'd understand why we wouldn't honour your opinion.

That aside, Abuzola, going by the quality and standard of your posts on Nairaland, you're in no position to decide what means what in English language. You have very profound problems with contemporary English. How do you even expect yourself to understand some of the old English in the King James Version? Don't you think that's overrating yourself?
I'm just being factual, sorry if I came off as insulting.
Re: Jesus Lied by Abuzola(m): 10:59pm On Jul 02, 2009
You are dumb, is the bible in hebrew for me not to understand ?

When the truth is said and you don't like it you bring excuse to say whether parable or abuzola u can't understand, whereas you quote your context such as Jesus die for our sin, jesus said him and god are one etc.

Selfish interest, i invite you to islam the religion of salvation, jesus never knew christianity so don't be deceived, the word christianity never exist in the bible

Re: Jesus Lied by dankol: 4:21pm On Jul 03, 2009
what is wrong with these slaveso f allah, i doubt if they read their quran any longer. Is the bible now the criteria for muslim judgment.
Mushin quoting the bible about truth, and do you know the truth? is islam the truth? sure you will tell me yes, it is only a fool that one tells that "i swear, i am telling the truth", the truth reveals itself, it does not need a proclaimer. during all that was said and done, you can never see a christian telling you Xtianity is the truth, cos is is eminent and factual for all to know and see. Quoting from the bible is not even the problem but the misinterpretation is the problem,

And as for abuzola, he is a terrible muslim bent on discrediting xtianity. and i'm not surprise because, muhammad did the same and what do you expect like father, like son, like prophet like slave. yes he has never been sensible in all his post whatsoever, always agressive. it is just a pity that even when the jesus you are renouncing comes back or you die, muhammad will not be there to intercede for you.

As for the poster, hmmmmmmmm, it is a pity, your parents taught you the ways of God but you have foolishly refused. there are so many of you like that in the society, i know one so well, but remember, it is worse for he that know christ and later go back to the world, what shall it profit a man to gain the world and loose his soul? nothing and you have decided to follow vanity, you have made yourself a meanace to your parents. May God save you.

and as for all xtians in particular, do not be carried away by any wind of doctrine or philosopies of this world, remember the devil your enemy moves about, seeking h=whom he may devour.

Re: Jesus Lied by Ogaga4Luv(m): 5:46pm On Jul 03, 2009
Here are some interesting statements coming directly out of the mouth of Jesus.,according to the Bible.
In the specific case that follows, "Ogaga" always insist that Jesus lied when he claimed to the high priest who was questioning him that he never spoke his teachings in secret but always taught them openly and in public.
Jesus answered the high priest with the following:

John 18:19-20
The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

Despite claiming that he spoke nothing in secret, Jesus did indeed do exactly that as exhibited in the scriptural passages of Mark 4:10-12 and Matt 13:34-42. (These verses will be cited in detail in the analysis).

The following excerpts are from a series of rationializations that attempt to demonstrate Jesus did not lie about this.:

This issue was raised in between me and a pastor ,on some Religions forum that looks at various Bible topics directly relating to inerrancy.

Christian stated:
It is one thing to assail the bible for its errors, and certainly there are many.
However, its errors do not prove that everything in it is a lie.
The most important truths in the Bible came from the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, as recorded in the four gospels, regardless of attendant errors.

"Ogaga'sCommentary":
This apologist does not appear to be a fundamentalist Christian but rather a "liberal" Christian who feels there are errors in the Bible along with elements of truth.
While this is a far more reasonable stance to take on the Bible than a fundamentalist one, it also opens a Pandora's box of problems as well.
If there are errors in the Bible, how do you know which parts are truth and which parts are in error
In the end, this more liberal type of believer defines which parts of the Bible are true based on their personal perceptions, and in the process they create their own personalized religion.
They decide what parts are to be taken as truth and what parts are in error, instead of holding a position that the whole Bible is the inerrant word of God.
All Christians practice this type of mental Bible writing exercise whether they realize it or not.
The Bible will ultimately mean whatever the believer wants it to mean.

Christian:
Jesus was reputed to be perfect, to live a perfect human life. Neither the apostles, nor those who wrote the gospels were.

"Ogaga's Commentary":
Since this Christian has already stated that the Bible has many errors, and now states that those who wrote the Gospels were not perfect, the claim that Jesus was "perfect" rests on a platform of thin air.
The definition of Jesus, on whose head the crown of perfection was alleged to reside, is found solely in the very New Testament whose writers are imperfect, and whose writings appear in the Bible, which this Christian already said has many errors in it.

Christian:
A perfect person is always loyal to truth.
Therefore Jesus did not lie, and you attempt to catch him in a lie is futile.
You have merely discovered another inconsistency in the rendering of the story about Jesus and his teachings.
Big Deal.

Big Deal.
