Considering the cost of living in this country and what #5000 can buy you in the market. Do you honestly think this will make any difference? How do you expect an unemployed youth to save #5000 monthly stipend to start up business? If you are a manager will you go about spreading money to your staffs, without proper channel and aim.?

I think it's totally unrealistic and a wasteful journey you want Nigerian government to embark.

In conclusion, our decision makers should learn from a country like china. China became the leader of the world's economy because of some policies it put in place that encourage its citizens to use their initiatives and creativity. An average Chinese do not care about the employment he can secure, but the innovation, invention and business initiative he can come up with.

Like I said earlier, the scheme is tantamount to encouraging our graduates to jettison the idea of creating their own businesses and remain idle until they can secure paid jobs and that would never help the lives of our graduates at the long run.

Instead if the scheme, the government should revamp and upgrade our infrastructures. Doing this, I believe, would create a conducive environment for businesses that will engage these graduates and make their lives meaningful and worthwhile. Thank you.

Take note the winner for tonight elimination stage will be facing the gladiator of Auchi Polytechnic...

Will it then be Polytechnic Vs Polytechnic or Polytechnic Vs University...

One of our vision is to bridge the disparity among Polytechnic and universities.... We are moving towards there gradually...

The next results coming up will decide if the former will hold or the latter will...

Happy Valentine's Day to you all.
Kudos to the debaters for their compromises despite this wonderful festive.

The debaters were outstanding with convincing points and rebuttals. I really commend their efforts and time to make this debate a success. Though I asked a simple question and it was left unanswered. I still think they did great.

Since the inception of this exercise, since 2013 when we started this debate, today's debate mark as the best debate so far, I must say, my mouth is wide open here wow winning with 0.5 margin is happening for the first time...

Team Ibadanpoly you are guys are the best, you guys are a potential winner , however for tournament sake one team will surely move to the next. And that team is OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY with a margin of 0.5 this is wonderful...
Congratulations to TEAM OAU and most especially OAUTemitayo....

Congratulations also to team Ibadanpoly. We hope to see you guys strongly for next edition... Thanks..

This was thrilling and informative. The 'I won't go down easily' spirit in the debaters is highly laudable. To the winner, OAU (OAU Temitayo), you did a good job and to Ibadanpoly (Sammyscholar), you really proved your worth. Only that the impartial judges couldn't award both of you as winner.

Looking forward to representing a school here sometimes in the nearest future. Cheers!

I'm part of this debate and I stand my ground and voice out that this result is totally unacceptable.

These are my reasons, and I'm gonna follow it up to the root...

We have 3 panel of judges that gave out scores. 2 spoke in favour of ibadan polytechnic and they sent their scores at the time of requests. The last judge waited for the other results to be posted hiding under the pretense of network, only to come up with an inflating score to counter the results already posted! This is very unhealthy and diabolical.

Either this debate is subject to other judges or the opinion of 2 judges stand sure. I have never seen one judge win two judges.

Let's this be honesty looked into. Very poor for the health of this debate.

What you just said is ridiculous.
The Judges are people with integrity.
Don't be a bad loser.
Last year OAU lost and we didn't accuse the judges of any foul play.

you are just mentioning creating a company as if the company will grow itself and you will be put there to manage it... #5000 will go a long way to help you if you are not the "make 1million in 1hour type"... DREAM WIDE, THINK BIG AND START SMALL. ..
Re: Nairaland Interschool debate: Obafemi Awolowo University winner 8 by roland2rule(m): 5:38am On Feb 15, 2016
and to the judges... I believe each judge result accounts for 33.33% and based on this
IBPOLY 49.8%
OAU 50.2%

And based on the judges view (2-1)
IBPOLY 66.7%
OAU 33.3%

my view now based on 100% (Result 70% and judges 30%)

IBPOLY 34.86 + 20.01=54.87%
OAU 35.14 + 9.99=45.13%

#my view though, no come yab the gentle me oooooo wink wink grin

ABEGI MODERATORS NO BAN ME OOOOOOOOOO, NA VIEW I CALL AM OOOOOOOOO angry angry wink

But still surprise how one judge win two judges..

We don use OKRO HAND SLAP THEM FACE grin grin grin
grin grin gringrin grin grin #team_great IFE anyway. . grin grin gringrin proudly awoite grin grin grin
