~Jodeci Jodeci is an American musical group, whose repertoire includes R&B, soul music, and new jack swing. The group consists of two pairs of brothers from Hampton, Virginia and Charlotte, North Carolina: the DeGrates (Donald "DeVante Swing" DeGrate, the group founder/leader, and Dalvin DeGrate) and the Haileys (main lead singer Cedric "K-Ci" Hailey and second lead singer Joel "Jo-Jo" Hailey). The group's name is a combination of the names of all of its members: Jo-Jo, DeGrate (including both Dalvin and DeVante) and K-Ci. Jodeci was the starting point for the careers of artists such as Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Ginuwine. The group had a successful string of hit singles and platinum albums until the group went on indefinite hiatus after 1998. The Hailey brothers continued to perform together under the name K-Ci and Jo-Jo, and had success on the pop charts beyond that of the original band. Jodeci broke so many molds . . . they were also very talented.The bad boy group Jodeci was made up of two sets of brothers: Cedric 'K-Ci' and Joel 'Jo Jo' Hailey and Dalvin and Donald 'DeVante Swing' DeGrate. All four members of the group had strong ties with the Pentecostal church. The DeGrates father was a minister and both sets of brothers had released a gospel album before they became a group. When the members of Jodeci first met, it was not in good terms. While they had heard each other's songs on the radio, K-Ci was with a girl Dalvin had once dated and a fight almost broke out. Yet fate had it in for the guys and they hung out and talked about potentially recording. The group came up with the name Jodeci at this time, a combination of three members aliases. JoJo DeVante K-Ci. At 16, DeVante ran off to Minneapolis where he tried, and failed, to get in Prince's organization. Returning to their hometown of Charlotte, he wrote a song and recorded Jojo singing it. Leaving to go to New York and market themselves, the two boys were joined by K-Ci and Dalvin. They had 29 songs recorded when they arrived and approached Uptown Entertainment. They were nearly rejected but rapper Heavy D was impressed and convinced Uptown president Andre Harrell to listen to the group. The group was signed and worked with Uptown executive Sean 'Puffy' Combs. Combs helped the group develop their bad boy image and in 1991, recorded Forever My Lady. The album's first single 'Stay' hit #1 on the R&B charts. Follow-ups 'Come and Talk to Me' and 'Forever My Lady' also went to #1 on the charts, helping the album sell over three million copies. K-Ci and JoJo were the typical lead vocalists while Devante did most of the production and songwriting. In 1993 the group performed on 'Uptown Unplugged' an episode of MTV Unplugged. They did a cover of Stevie Wonder's 'Lately' and eventually released a studio version of the track. The singe reached #1 on the R&B charts and was a Top 5 pop hit. The track Lately would be included on the group's next album Diary of a Mad Band which came out in the same year and had a bumpy start. The group was having conflicts with their label and thus, received very little promotion. Nevertheless, with 'Lately' and hit singles 'Feenin' and 'Cry For You' another #1 R&B hit, the album was able to sell over a million copies. One of the group's major contributions to the R&B industry was DeVante's Swing Mob. Swing Mob was a collective of artists, songwriters and producers who all lived in a single house together. The twenty-plus members were mostly Jodeci fans who auditioned for DeVante backstage at concerts. Some of the notable members of the Swing Mob were Missy Elliot, her friends Tim 'DJ Timmy Tim' Mosley (later dubbed Timbaland by DeVante) and Melvin 'Magoo' Barcliff. Ginuwine was also a member of the Swing Mob. The group's third album The Show, The After Party, The Hotel was released in 1995 and featured more of DeVante's tremendous production. The album had several hit singles including 'Love U 4 Life,' 'Get On Up,' and 'Freek'n You.' Unfortunately, this was the last album ever released by the group as K-Ci and JoJo pursued a career together, Swing Mob collapsed and Dalvin went on to release his own solo album. While there have been almost constant murmurs of a comeback album, nothing has come of it to date. While that’s mostly true it also steps aside the fact that most of them developed drug problems somewhere in between that period. Now 10 years later Jodeci is on the “Let’s Raise Money for Crack” tour trying to shop a new album. Just check the evidence, you don’t get like this from just getting old. K-ci seriously looks like Dave Chappelle playing a crackhead. It’s almost scary. Then DeVante went and got a tattoo on his face."

~Diana King~ Diana King, who hails from Spanish Town, first came to prominence as the singer for the City Heat band during the 1980s. Say the name Diana King and music fans the world over think, Shy Guy the block buster three million worldwide selling single from her first album, the 6 Million selling CD ‘Tougher than Love’ comes to mind. Say “Kingsinga” and you get blank stares and the reaction, huh? King, whose new moniker is[b] “Kingsinga”[/b] was a hit on two continents back in the 90’s when her name and monster jam, Shy Guy, which was certified gold in the US, crested at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US, #1 on the European Hot 100 chart and # 2 on the UK chart made her an house hold name across the globe. Shy Guy was also featured on the soundtrack of the movie Bad Boys, staring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Her last successful musical outing on this side of the Atlantic was in 1997 when her ‘Think like a Girl’ album entered Billboard’s Top Reggae Album chart at # 1.King has had some success with covers. Singer Diana King's next project is a cover album that is expected to be released in a region where she has had a strong following for nearly 15 years. "The album is being done exclusively for the Asian market. It should be released in the summer," King is quoted as saying on the RiddimJamaica website. The Florida-based King hinted that You're Beautiful, the massive Grammy-winning hit by British singer James Blunt, may be one of the songs she will cover. She broke through on the Asian scene during the 1990s with the dance song, Shy Guy, which was a hit in the United States. Shy Guy was the lead single from the gold-selling album, Tougher Than Love, which was released by Sony Music. Entertainment industry officials in Japan named Shy Guy as one of the top songs of 1995 in that country. ~Dru Hill ~ Dru Hill was founded by Tamir 'Nokio' Ruffin in Baltimore in 1992. The group consisted of himself, lead singer Mark 'Sisqo' Andrews, Larry 'Jazz' Anthony and James 'Woody' Green. The group got their chance at success in 1996 when manager Haqq Islam set them up to perform at the Impact Convention. Island Records signed Dru Hill after the performance and began working on their debut album. The self-titled album, Dru Hill, released in 1996 and eventually went platinum. The first single, 'Tell Me' made it into the Top 5 on the R&B charts. The group did some of their own writing and production, writing their single '5 Steps' and with Nokio doing much of their production. The single 'In My Bed' was the group's first #1 R&B hit with 'Never Make a Promise' following in its suit shortly thereafter. Dru Hill released there second and most popular album, Enter the Dru in 1998 which went on to go two times platinum. The single 'How Deep is Your Love' made it into the top 5 on the pop charts and the single 'These are the Times' made it to the top 5 on the R&B charts. In 1999, Woody quit the group to return to gospel music. However, when Island merged with Def Jam later in the year, Woody and the other three members signed contracts with Def Jam's R&B section. The members of Dru Hill were originally all going to put out solo albums and then put out a new group album, but Sisqo's debut LP was successful enough that the others were left behind. Yet in late 2000, Dru Hill re-entered the studio to produce the album. It wasn't to be however as tensions arose and Sisqo walked out on the group. However, after Sisqo's second solo performed below average, the group reformed again. This time, Jazz did not want to return to the group and so, Rufus 'Scola' Waller joined the group. During recording, Jazz returned and Dru Hill became a quintet. The album, Dru World Order, finally saw release in 2002 and went gold. The group is currently working on an album titled D.R.U, Dru Hill made classic hits such as “Tell Me”, “In My Bed” and “We’re Not Making Love No More” Dru Hill is an American singing group, most popular during the late 1990s, whose repertoire included R&B, soul, and gospel music. Founded in Baltimore, Maryland and active since 1992, Dru Hill recorded seven Top 40 hits, and is best known for the R&B #1 hits "In My Bed", "Never Make a Promise", and "How Deep Is Your Love". Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin was the group's founder; his bandmates included main lead singer Mark "Sisqó" Andrews, Larry "Jazz" Anthony, and James "Woody Rock" Green. ~Color Me Badd ~ Color Me Badd came out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the early 1990s and was comprised of members Bryan Abrams, Mark Calderon, Kevin Thornton and Sam Watters. The group was discovered by Kool & The Gang's Robert Bell in 1990. Signed to Giant Records, the group's first album C.M.B. was released in 1991 and was a huge success. Going triple platinum in the United States, the album eventually had five hit singles. 'I Wanna Sex You Up' hit #1 on the R&B charts and #2 on the Hot 100. Their second single 'I Adore Mi Amor,' topped both the Hot 100 and the R&B charts. The third single, 'Thinkin Back' peaked at #16 on the Hot 100 and 'Slow Motion' reached #18. The album's last single, 'All 4 Love' topped the Hot 100 as well. Attempting to cash in on their success, the group released a remix album in 1992 titled Young, Gifted, and Badd. With the exception of Forever Love, a single that reached #15 on the charts, the album was disappointing. In 1993, they released their second album of new content, Time & Chance. The album packed 19 tracks and was a more soulful effort. Featuring production by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the album went gold. Even still, the album failed to have as big an impact on the charts, with only 'Time and Chance' which reached #9 on the R&B charts making an impact. In 1996, the group released their fourth album, Now & Forever. Packed with big names like Babyface, Jon B and Boyz II Men, the album still failed to make strong ground on the charts. It's most popular single was 'The Earth, The Sun, The Rain' which reached #21 on the Hot 100, and stayed on the charts for 19 weeks. Their last album, Awakening, was released in 1998. It received some praise and remined true to the group's roots but failed to make an impact on the U.S. charts. In 2000, the group was drpoped from Giant Records. Sam Watters worked as a producer, working with Jessica Simpson and married R&B singer Tamyra Gray. Kevin Thornton released a solo album and has since moved to Tasmania. Where Are They Now? Bryan Abrams is still singing his heart out and - according to his website - is a "multi-platinum recording artist." So he's got that going for him. Perhaps best of all, he's got a single out that he recorded with the likes of Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys) and Jordan Knight (New Kids). Sam Watters was the primary songwriter of the group and has stayed in the industry as a writer and producer, even getting some work with Jessica Simpson. Kevin "KT" Thornton and Mark Calderon reunited with Abrams in 2001 to perform as CMB for what appears to be the final time when they were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. ~Keith Sweat~ Keith was born in 1961 in Harlem, New York. In 1975, Sweat got his start in music with a Harlem band called 'Jamilah.' The group toured the Tri-State area and helped hone Sweat's singing abilities. Signed to Elektra Records, Sweat made it big in 1987 with his album Make It Last Forever. The album went three times platinum and had several hit singles. 'Something Just Ain't Right,' the album's first single hit #3 on the R&B charts and the album's title track made it to #2 on the charts. 'I Want Her' was the album's biggest hit, reaching #1 on the R&B charts and #5 on the Hot 100. The album's final single, 'Don't Stop Your Love' hit #9 on the R&B lists. In 1990, Sweat released I'll Give All My Love To You, which managed to go double platinum. 'Merry Go Round,' the album's first single managed to start things on the right track as it reached #2 on the R&B charts. With 'Make You Sweat,' Sweat had his second #1 hit, topping the R&B charts. The album's title track became the third R&B #1 hit for Sweat. The following year, Keep It Comin' was released and managed to hit platinum status. The album only really had one hit single with 'Why Me Baby' which managed to hit #2 on the R&B charts. Sweat released his fourth album in 1994 titled Get Up On It. The album managed to go platinum but lacked any tremendous singles to drive it any further on the charts. Sweat reached his peak with his self-titled album Keith Sweat in 1996. The album went 4X platinum and featured back-to-back #1 R&B singles with 'Twisted' and 'Nobody'. Continuing his trend, Sweat released the album Still In The Game in 1998 and it quickly went platinum. The album featured two moderate hits with 'Come and Get With Me' which hit #6 on the R&B charts and 'I'm Not Ready' which reached #12 on the R&B charts. With the turn of the century, Sweat's musical success has fallen. His 2000 album, Didn't See Me Coming, and his 2002 release Rebirth didn't perform well with only the former managing gold status. He is reportedly finished with a new album The Sweat Hotel but it hasn't been released yet.

~Adina Howard Adina was born in 1974 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to her music career, she was living in Mesa Arizona, where she met producers Ray Hunter and Ron Keel. Ray had wanted Adina to become a member of a girl group named Deja Vu, but Ron saw more potential in Adina and wanted her to go solo. However, before the guys could set-up a deal with her, Adina Howard signed a record deal and left the two men behind. Her first album, Do You Wanna Ride? came out in 1995 and rode the success of its single ‘Freak Like Me.’ The single went platinum, reaching #2 on the Hot 100 and the R&B charts. With the strength of the single, the album went gold. Howard began working on a second album, Welcome To Fantasy Island, which was praised in reviews and scored a small hit with the single 'Freak & You Know It.' The track reached #70 on the Hot 100 and #32 on the R&B charts. However, Elektra felt the album did not have much potential beyond the first single and so the album was shelved. In 2003, Howard began nearing completion of a third album. The album went through a variety of name changes, from Ride Again: 7/2 to Two Can Play That Game to its official name The Second Coming. Upon its release in 2004, the album received minimal promotion and failed to sell well. She began working on a fourth album, Private Show in 2005 and collaborated with Nineteen76 Productions to film documentaries about the process. The album was completed in 2006 and a few songs appeared on the internet. In June of 2008, the album finally saw release. Besides her music career, Howard has appeared in several independent films. In 1998, Howard debuted in the film High Freeakquency with Deon Richmond and John Witherspoon. In 2003, the made her second appearance with the film Casanova's Demise. Her most recent film was Poke the Sleeping Bear.

~En Vogue~ En Vogue formed in 1988 in Oakland, California. The members of the group were former Miss Black California Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Dawn Robinson and Terry Ellis. The group formed when producers denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy decided they wanted to make a modern-day, R&B girl group for the 1990s. They hoped to weld R&B/soul with hip-hop/new jack swing. They hosted auditions and selected the group's members. Initially, the group was named For You and later, they changed their name to Vogue. However, Vogue was similar to the name of another group so they became En Vogue. The group performed on their producers solo album FM2 and lived together. While in Foster's car one day, the group was warming up and preparing to sing the song 'Who's Lovin' You' by the Miracles. However, Foster turned on the drum machine and the group had the idea of doing the song over the funky beats it produced. foster did one better and produced an original song in answer to the original track called 'Hold On.' The track was released as a single and made it to #2 on the pop charts and #1 on the R&B charts. It was the debut single for their first album Born to Sing, released in 1990. The album went platinum and got the girls off to a good start. Funky Divas, the girls second album hit #1 on the US R&B charts and went triple platinum. The album had three top ten singles 'M Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It),' 'Giving Him Something He Can Feel' and 'Free Your Mind.' Outside of the music world, the girls were the first black female R&B group to appear on the front cover of Vogue magazine (which seems fitting considering their name). They also made appeareances in several shows including The Wayans Brothers and In Living Color. Robinson left the group for a solo career in 1997 while the other members recorded EV3. The album's first single in 1997 was 'Don't Let Go' which was a #2 single on the Top 100. The album's second single 'Whatever' reached #8 on the R&B charts. Driven by the success of its singles, the album eventually went platinum. In 2000, the girls released Masterpiece Theater which failed to make a commercial impression in the US. Starting in 2001, the group had a wide array of member changes. Amanda Cole joined the group in 2001, the same year that Maxine Jones left to take care of her newborn child. In 2003, Cole left the group and Jones returned. However, at the same time, Cindy Herron went on maternity leave after having a child. The group then gained a new member, Rhona Bennett. Some conglomeration of this group released Soul Flower in early 2004 which faired only slightly better than Masterpiece Theater on the charts. For a brief moment in 2005, the original members of the group reunited and performed 'Whatta Man' with the group Salt N Pepa. However, Dawn Robinson could not reach agreement on business issues and decided not to stay with the group. The current group is composed of Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones and Rhona Bennett.

~Zhane~ Zhane pronounced Jah-Nay as the group's first album so proudly declared, was comprised of members Renee Neufville of Jamaica and Jean Norris of Rhode Island. The two met when studying music at Temple University, and impressed Naughty by Nature member Kay Gee so much when they first met him, that he brought them in to record for the all-star compilation Roll Wit tha Flava. The group got their start wihen they were given a high-profile spot on the compilation Roll Wit tha Flava. In their recording debut, the group lived up to the pressure and created a hit track, 'Hey Mr. DJ.' The track was a tremendous success, reaching #6 on the Hot 100, and #3 on the R&B charts. The single went gold and was featured on the group's debut album, Pronounced Jah-Nay (or Zhane, it's open to debate), helping the album go platinum. The album, which was released in 1994, had further success with the single 'Sending My Love' which reached #5 on the R&B charts and #40 on the Hot 100, and 'Groove Thang' which reached #2 on the R&B charts and #17 on the Hot 100. Between albums, the group recorded several tracks for other artists and on soundtracks, scoring another hit with 'Shame' from A Low down Dirty Shame, which reached #28 on the Hot 100. In 1997, the group released their second, and final album, Saturday Night. The album had minor hits with 'Request Line' which became the group's fifth top 40 hit on the Hot 100, reaching #39, and 'Crush' which reached #24 on the R&B charts. Jean Norris, is now known as Jean Baylor, after marrying drummer Marcus Baylor of the jazz group Yellowjackets. ~All 4 One ~ All 4 One is a male R&B quartet comprised of Tony Borowiak, Jamie Jones, Delious Kennedy, and Alfred Nevarez, all of whom are from The Antelope Valley in California. Tony, Jamie and Alfred started the group after meeting in a studio where they had sung commercial jingles. In forming a group, they persuaded local singer Delious Kennedy to join them and became All-4-One. As a newly created group, the guys of All-4-One auditioned with Blitzz Records, performing a rendition of The Tymes’ track ‘So Much In Love.’ The guys were impressive enough and the song solid enough that they were signed and the track was featured on their debut album, All-4-One. The group appeared on the scene in 1994 with their self-titled debut album. The album was propelled by the number 1 single 'I Swear' which won the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a group. It was number 1 for eleven weeks on the Top 100 and was nominated for song of the year. The album scored further success with the single ‘So Much In Love’ which reached #5 on the Hot 100. The album’s other singles, ‘Breathless’ and ‘Skillz’ did not do as well, with the former peaking out at #66 on the R&B charts, and the latter reaching #57 on the Hot 100. In the end, the album went four times platinum. The follow-up album, And the Music Speaks, had respectable sales, driven by its popular remake 'I Can Love You Like That.' The song hit number 5 on the Top 100 helping the album to its platinum status. An interesting occurrence with All 4 One's top singles is that they are often mistaken for Boyz II Men tracks. Following their two successful albums, All 4 One found trouble with their plan to release their third album, On and On. The album was supposed to be released in 1997, but following a label dispute, the album was quietly released in 1999 on Atlantic. The album included the single ‘I Will Be Right Here’ which reached #24 on the Adult Contemporary Charts. The group’s trouble grew at this point, when one of the members suffered an auto accident. Because of the accident, the group went on hiatus for a year. When they attempted to return in 2001 with a new album, All-4-One… Has Left The Building, the disc never ended up seeing release. In 2002, they were able to return with a new album, A41, which had the single ‘Beautiful As U’ which reached #13 on the Adult Contemporary charts. The group's most recent album, Split Personality, was only released in Asia.

~Silk~ Silk came out on the scene in 1992 and is comprised of members Timothy Cameron, Jimmy Gates Jr., Jonathen Rasboro, Gary Jenkins and Gary Glenn. The popular singer, Keith Sweat had been the one to discover the group. Silk's debut cd, Lose Control, was a large success, driven by the hit single 'Freak Me' which helped the album reach double platinum status. The single 'Freak Me' reached number 1 on the Hot 100 chart. In 1995, the group released the album Silk and followed it up in 1999 with the album Tonight. Tonight had several moderate hits on it as 'Meeting in My Bedroom' reached number 15 on the R&B charts, 'If you (Loving Me) reached number 4 on the R&B and 13 on the Hot 100 charts. Love Session, Silk's fourth album, was released in 2001. Following the release of the album, the group was dropped by Elektra Records. In 2002, Jenkins debuted in the play 'Madea's Family Reunion.' ~Jade~ When the group Jade first formed, it was comprised of Joi Marshall, and women named Angie and Debbie. Thus, the group started with the name JAD. However, when Angie and Debbie were dropped from the label and replaced by Tonya Kelly and Di Reed, the group extended its name to Jade. Kelly and Marshall grew up in Chicago while Reed was raised in Houston. The girls first album, Jade to the Max, was released in 1992 to respectable success. The album featured singles 'I Wanna Love You,' 'One Woman,' and 'Don't Walk Away.' The singles reached #7, #16 and #2 on the R&B charts respectively and 'Don't Walk Away' even managed to hit #4 on the Hot 100. Driven by the album's singles, the album went platinum. In 1994, the girls released their second album, Mind Body and Song. The album featured two respectable singles '5-4-3-2' which reached #13 on the R&B charts and 'Every Day Of The Week' which made it to #15 on the R&B charts. Despite having several singles perform well on the charts, Jade was mismanaged by their label. Thus, even though there was no ill will between the members of Jade, the groupmates went their separate ways because of the limited financial return. Since then, the girls of Jade have all found success in different aspects. Joi Marshall continues to sing as an independent gospel artist and wrote a book on the music business. She also has a new gospel album, Testimony and Praise, which was released in 2007. ~Az Yet~ The group Az Yet was created over a long period of time. Shawn Rivera and Dion Allen met in 1990 and decided to form a group in Philadelphia. While in search for quality singers to join their group, the two men stumbled upon Kenny Terry and brought him into the group. The guys met Kenny when he was working at a hotel. As Dion and Shawn were leaving, they overheard Terry singing and invited him to join the group, expanding it to a trio. After working hard to get the attention of labels, the group scored big when their demo fell into the hands of Jacqueline McQuam. McQuam was a business woman in Los Angeles who was so impressed by the guys that she signed a deal to act as their manager. This agreement was crucial for the guys because McQuam’s son-in-law was Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Babyface heard the guys sing and was impressed enough that he signed them to LaFace records and had them open his concert with After 7 and El Debarge. As the group signed to LaFace, they added Darryl Anthony to their line-up to replace a member who had left. Babyface and the LaFace team had the group add one more member, Marc Nelson (who had actually been with the group Boyz II Men prior to their first release), to round out the group’s line-up and serve as a second lead vocalist. Prior to joining the group, Marc had been a long-time friend of Dion’s, making him a perfect fit for the group. Az Yet released their self-titled debut album in 1996 on LaFace records. Their first album featured the hit single 'Last Night' which reached #1 on the R&B charts and #9 on the Hot 100. The album's second single, 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry,' hit #8 on the Hot 100 and achieved platinum status ('Last Night' went gold). Driven by the two singles, the album managed to eventually go platinum in 2002. Following the group's debut album, they went through a period of roster changes. First, Marc Nelson left the group for a solo career and was replaced by Tony Grant. With this line-up, the group recorded the single "You're The Inspiration" with Chicago's Peter Cetera. Tony Grant left the group in 2001 to pursue a career in theatre that includes Tyler Perry's The Marriage Counselor play and the solo album Grant Life which was released in 2007. Grant was then replaced with LeDon Bishop. The group was dropped by LaFace and eventually was reformed with only Darryl Anthony remaining of the group's original members. This new line-up released a collection of tracks in 2004 titled, That B U, which was a dual disc (it featured a DVD on the reverse side). Darryl Anthony's Az Yet left the scene in 2007 and a revival of the original group was introduced. This latest iteration of Az Yet is comprised of original members Dion, Shawn, Marc and Kenny. ~Aaron Hall~ Aaron was born in 1964 in The Bronx, New York. He first established himself in the music industry as a member of the group Guy. The group was comprised of Hall, Teddy riley and Timmy Gatling and later on, Hall's brother Damian. During Hall's time with Guy from the 80s to the 90s, he became well-known for his lead singing on hits like 'Groove Me,' 'I Like,' and 'Let's Chill.' The group disbanded in 1991 but Hall's established name allowed him to continue on with a solo career. In 1992, Hall released a single from the movie Juice, titled 'Don't Be Afraid.' The single topped the R&B charts and opened the gates for Hall's debut album, The Truth which was released in 1993. Powered by the single 'I Miss You', The Truth went platinum. It had several singles that performed fair with 'When You Need Me' reaching #30 on the R&B charts and 'Let's Make Love' reaching #36. However, it was the track 'I Miss You' that put the album on the charts, reaching #14 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the R&B charts. The single managed to go gold. Hall worked on several projects with R. Kelly and caused many people to say that Kelly borrowed Hall's style. Working with other R&B singers, Kelly and Hall appear together on the song 'U Will Know' from the Jason's Lyric' soundtrack. In 1998, Aaron Hall released his second album, Inside of You. While it received more critical praise than his first album, Inside of You did not fair as well commercially. The album had one hit single, 'All The Places (I Will Kiss You)' which reached #8 on the R&B charts and #26 on the Hot 100. Two years later, Hall reunited with the other members of the group Guy and put out the album Guy III. Aaron Hall released his final album in 2005, titled Adults Only: The Final Album. ~Alfonzo Hunter~ Alfonso was born in 1973 in Chicago, Illinois. Hunter was the first artist to release an album on Def Squad Records, the label formed by Def Squad and Erick Sermon. Alfonzo Hunter released his debut album, Blacka da Berry, in 1996 on the Def Squad Records label. Hunter got his first big start in the R&B industry when Keith Henderson, then music director for R. Kelly, needed a back-up singer for R. Kelly. He tried out for he position and got the opportunity to work with R. Kelly doing back up for six months. Despite the opportunity to work with R. Kelly, Alfonzo stayed in school, attending Roosevelt University in Chicago where he learned music production and engineering. When Hunter was finally signed and released his debut album, he scored two moderate hits on the R&B charts. The album's first single "Just the Way" reached #31 on the R&B charts and #85 on the Hot 100. The album's second single, "Weekend Thang" reached #35 on the R&B charts and #90 on the Hot 100. The album was successful enough that Alfonzo began work on a second album. However, Def Squad moved to Motown after EMI closed and Hunter was not able to release his second album. ~Case Woodard ~ Case was born in New York City and was signed to Def Soul records. He first started working in the R&B industry as a backup singer, working with big name R&B artists like Usher. In 1996, Case released his self-titled debut album. The album featured 'Touch Me Tease Me,' the hit single from The Nutty Professor. The single went gold, reaching #4 on the R&B charts and #14 on the Hot 100. Case's second album, Personal Conversation, was released in 1999 and went gold. The album featured the hit single 'Happily Ever After' which reached #3 on the R&B charts and #15 on the Hot 100. The album's other single, 'Think Of You' failed to do well on the charts, managing to only reach #50 on the R&B charts. Open Letter, Case's most well-known album was released in 2001. The album went gold, likely a result of the single 'Missing You.' 'Missing You' is Case's only #1 single to date as it topped the R&B charts and reached #4 on the Hot 100. A fourth album from Case, The Blaxl Rose Xperience, was expected to be released in 2004. However, Case was dropped from the label and talks of the album stopped. The album seems to have resurfaced and in 2008, Case planned to finally release The Rose Experience in the Fall. Case continues to tour, performing on the Ladies Night Out Tour in 2006 with Ginuwine, Jagged Edge and Donnell Jones. A great deal of Case's success has been due to his appearance on movie soundtracks. Many of Case's most popular tracks appear on the soundtracks for Nutty Professor, Rush Hour, Nutty Professor II and The Best Man. These singles were 'Touch Me Tease Me' (Nutty Professor), 'Faded Pictures' (Rush Hour), 'Best Man I Can Be' (The Best Man) and 'Missing You' (Nutty Professor II). After eight long years of waiting for R&B singer Case to follow-up on his hit third album, Open Letter, it's finally upon us. March 24, 2009, Case will be releasing his fourth album, The Rose Experience. Named for Case's alter ego, Blaxl Rose, Case is pushing the envelope with this album. His first album on an independent label, he's been given the opportunity to have creative control over the work, and it's quality is already evident in the album's successful first single, "Lovely." Despite his busy schedule as he continues to tour the country in promotion of the album, Case was able to take time out to talk with us at R&B Haven. In part two of our interview, Case talks about the album's various release dates, and what it was like working as an independent artist. ~Tevin Campbell~ Tevin was born in 1976 in Dallas, Texas. He first appeared on the scene in the hit single 'Tommorow (A Better You Better Me)' which was released in 1989 and reached #1 on the R&B charts in 1990. The single was the lead for Quincy Jones LP Back on the Block. Campbell had his first solo hit with 'Round and Round,' a song produced by Prince. The track appeared on the soundtrack Graffiti Bridge and reached #3 on the R&B charts and #12 on the Hot 100. Driven by its popularity, the single managed to go gold. Continuuing his success, Tevin scored another Top Ten R&B hit with 'Just Ask Me To' from Boyz in the Hood soundtrack. Having established himself with several hits, Tevin released his debut solo album T.E.V.I.N. in 1991. The album had several hit singles with the first 'Tell Me What You Want Me To Do' reaching #1 on the R&B charts. 'Goodbye,' the second single of the album reached #2 and 'Alone With You,' the album's fourth single was another #1 R&B hit. The album's third and fifth singles, 'Strawberry Letter' and 'Confused' failed to rival the previous singles success but the album still managed to go gold in 1992, as did 'Tell Me What You Want Me To Do.' With a well received album under his belt, Tevin came back guns blazing in 1993 with the album I'm Ready. The first single from the album 'Can We Talk' reached #1 on the R&B charts and hit #9 on the Hot 100. Following was the title track which hit #2 on the R&B charts and #9 on the Hot 100. Keeping the first going, the album's third single 'Always In My Heart' reached #6 on the R&B charts. With several hits jammed into the album, it managed to go double platinum and helped push T.E.V.I.N. to platinum status. Campbell's last big success was his appearance in the 1995 Disney movie A Goofy Movie. Tevin Campbell acted as the voice for the character Powerline and sang the songs 'Stand Out' and 'I2I.' In 1996, Tevin released the album Back To The World which was unpromoted. As a result, while the title single managed to reach #16 on the R&B charts, the rest failed to impress. The album did not even reach gold status. In 1999, Tevin released the album Tevin Campbell which performed even worse. During the same year, Campbell was part of a scandal in which he allegedly solicited MouthAction from an undercover policeman and was found with marijuana in his car. Campbell denies the report and has said in an interview that he is not heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual. Instead, he feels he is experimental. In 2005, Campbell made his Broadway debut in the musical Hairspray. He performd as Seaweed J. Stubbs. Campbell is currently working on a new album due in late 2006. Discography (1991) - T.E.V.I.N. ~Total ~ Total was an R&B trio comprised of members JaKima Raynor, Keisha Spivey and Pamela Long. The group was a part of Sean 'Puffy' Combs Bad Boy Records. The groups first work together was backing Notorious B.I.G. They sing the chorus to B.I.G.'s debut single 'Juicy' as well as his hit 'One More Chance.' Following their work with B.I.G., Comb's began to work with the girls on their debut album. Their first single, 'Can't You See' was from New Jersey Drive and featured Notorious B.I.G. It reached #3 on the R&B charts and #13 on the Hot 100, going gold in the process. After their hit single, the girls released their self-titled debut album which went platinum. It had several hit singles including 'No One Else,' 'Kissin' You' and 'What About Us.' All three singles went gold and made it into the top ten on the R&B charts. 'Kissin' You' made it to #12 on the Hot 100. The girls released their second album, Kima, Keisha and Pam in 1998 and it eventually went gold. The album featured the hit single 'Trippin' which went gold and reached #7 on the Hot 100. The album's second single 'Sitting Home' reached #10 on the R&B charts. Rumor has it that the girls have added a new member to the group and are working on a new album. No details have surfaced on the matter yet. ~Keisha Spivey married actor Omar Epps in 2006 and is living in California. They have daughter K'marie(July 2004) and son Amir(Dec 2007)together; as well as Omar's daughter Aiyanna Yasmine(00) with ex wife Yusra Salama ~Pamela Long still lives in New Jersey. ~Tony! Toni! Tone!~ Tony! Toni! Tone! formed in Oakland, California and was composed of D'Wayne Wiggins on lead vocals and guitar, his brother Raphael Wiggins (Rapael Saadiq) on lead vocals and bass and cousin Timothy Christian on drums. Their first album was released in 1988 and was titled Who?. The album went gold and had several hit singles. The first of these, 'Little Walter' went to #1 on the R&B charts. While none of the singles went gold, the next three singles, 'Born Not To Know,' 'For The Love Of You' and 'Baby Doll' were all Top 10 R&B singles. Firmly establishing themselves, the group's second album The Revival was released in 1990 and reached platinum status. The album spawned several #1 R&B hits with 'It Never Rains,' 'Feels Good' and 'Whatever You Want' all topping the R&B charts. 'Feels Good' was the group's first single to breach the Top 10 of the Hot 100 and managed to go gold. Furthering the group's success, they released their best selling album to date Sons Of Soul in 1993. The album went double platinum and had hit singles 'If I had No Loot' which hit #7 on the Hot 100, 'Anniversary' which reached #10 on the Hot 100, and '(Lay Your Head On My) Pillow' which reached #4 on the R&B charts. In 1996, the group released their last album to date, House of Music. The album lacked the strong singles of earlier entries, only getting 'Thinking Of You' into the top 10 on the R&B charts but the album still managed to go platinum. ~Immature~ Immature was created by record producer Chris Stokes. Its members were Marques 'Batman' Houston, Jerome 'Young Rome' Jones, and Kelton 'LDB' Kessee. All three of the group's members were born in 1981 and are native of Los Angeles, California. The group's debut album On Our Worst Behavior was released in 1992. However, it wasn't until the group's second album, "Playtime Is Over" that the group developed a respectable following. The album featured hit singles 'Never Lie' which reached #5 on the Hot 100 and went gold, and 'Constantly' which reached #16 on the Hot 100 and also went gold. Driven by the success of these singles, the group's album was able to go gold. In 1995, the group released their third album, We Got It. Featuring the hit title track that reached #11 on the R&B charts and 'Please Don't Go' that reached #16, the album went gold. The group's final album before changing their name was The Journey. After the album's release, the group felt they were getting older and changed their name to IMx. The name was supposed to mean ex-Immature as the group was growing up. Under their new name, the group released two albums, Introducing IMx and IMx. Introducing IMx was released in 1999 and had the single 'Stay The Night' that made it to #19 on the Hot 100 and went gold. IMx was released in 2001.

~SWV, or Sisters With Voices SWV formed in 1990 as a group of three school friends. The group consisted of members Cheryl 'Coko' Gamble-Clemons (born 1974), Tamara 'Taj' Johnson-George (1974) and Leanne 'Lelee' Lyons (1973). The girls of SWV, like nearly all R&B artists, got their first experience in church. When Teddy Riley heard a demo tape SWV had created, he helped set the girls up. With his guidance, they released their debut album, It's About Time, in 1992. The album went triple platinum and had a string of top 10 hits. The first single 'Right Here' reached #16 on the R&B charts but was quickly one upped by the albums later singles. 'I'm So Into You' was SWV's first top 10 hit, reaching #2 on the R&B charts and #6 on the top 100. SWVs biggest hit from the album was it's third single, 'Weak.' SWV's 'Weak' was the girls only single to top the Hot 100. Continuing their success, the album's fourth single 'Right Here' reached #2 on the Hot 100. In 1996, SWV released their second album, New Beginning, which peaked at #9 on the charts. It had the #1 R&B hit 'You're The One' which likely helped drive the album to platinum status. SWV disbanded in 1998 after their third album, Release Some Tension, released in 1997, went gold. Coko, Lelee, and Taj finally reunited on stage for the first time in eight years for radio station KKBT 100.3 The Beat's Summer Jam concert in 2005. SWV reunited and announced plans to record a new album the following year.They have since toured together, doing various spot dates. Life After SWV Coko Coko was kept on by the label as a solo artist after SWV disbanded.She came out with a pair of solo albums; the mediocre selling, "Hot Coko" in 1999, and her premier Gospel entry, "Grateful" in 2006.In Addition,Coko went on to collaborate with everyone from Will Smith ("Men In Black" theme song) to L.S.G. ("All The Times" featuring Faith Evans and Missy Elliott). Coko, who is married to percussionist/producer Mike Clemons and has two sons, just received two GMA Dove Award nominations for "Grateful." She's also been doing spot dates on Fred Hammond's "Free To Worship" tour along with Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore. Her latest single, "I Get Joy," was the most added song at gospel radio Taj Taj is still married to former football player turned sports commentator Eddie George and they have two sons. Their life is being detailed in the TV One reality series 'I Married A Baller,' which debuts April 21.SWV members Coko and Lelee who sing the theme song along with Taj, appear in a couple of the show's episodes. This summer, the singer will publish her first book, 'Player HateHer: Why Can't Women Just Get Along?' (Amistad/Harper Collins). She also runs Visions with Infinite Possibilities (VIP), a non-profit organization founded by her husband to enrich the lives of women and children affected by domestic abuse. Taj was a contestant on reality the show Survivor: Tocantins. She will participate in a 2009 national tour of the Vagina Monologues with an all-black cast, most of whom are also former reality show contestants. Lelee Lelee has been through it all:The April 2007 issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine features an explosive article with ex-SWV member Leanne "Lelee" Lyons, who talks about becoming a mother at age 15, as well as being broke and homeless after the end of SWV, often having to spend the night in gay clubs. Among other things, Lelee says the $25,000 given to her as a parting gift by RCA ended up going toward the funeral and burial of her mother. Lelee has two children:a son named Khiry and a daughter named Margaret. LeLee has plans on launching an entertainment company to develop new artists. In addition, she recently shot a pilot for a syndicated radio show that she hopes will get picked up. She also commented about the online backlash from her Sister 2 Sister interview on her MySpace page. SWV had reunited and been on tour in 2007 and performed dates with After 7, Bobby Brown, New Edition, and Blackstreet. However, due to Coko's spirituality, she refused to sing many of the group's hit songs. As a result, the group halted their reunion efforts after a show on June 30, 2007. On June 24, 2008, SWV made a special appearance at the BET Awards of 2008, performing "Weak" with Alicia Keys. They also sang the chorus to TLC's "Waterfalls". Coko currently resides in Virginia Beach. Lelee currently resides in Atlanta and Taj currently resides in Nashville.[citation needed]. In 2008, producer Brian Alexander Morgan announced plans to re-release SWV's first album "It's About Time". In addition to past hits, the release is set to include six unreleased songs

~Xscape~ The group Xscape formed in the early 1990s and was composed of sisters LaTocha 'Meatball' (born in 1973) and Tamika 'Juicy' (1975) Scott, as well as Kandi Burruss (1976) and Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle (1975). The Scott sister's father was a Reverend and part of the 70s group Scott Three. The girls sang at church and were trained by their father. They met the other two members in 1990 in a suburb of Atlanta and Xscape was born. Xscape got their chance when singing at a birthday party for Jermaine Dupri in 1991 and were signed to So So Def Recordings. In 1993, Xscape released the album Hummin' Comin' At Cha. The debut single 'Just Kickin' It' hit #2 on the Hot 100 and the second single 'Understanding' was a #1 hit on the R&B charts. With the help of these singles, the album managed to go platinum. Xscape's sophomore effort Off the Hook was released in 1995 to similar success. The album had the hit single 'Who Can I Run To' which made it to #1 on the R&B charts and Feels so Good which made it to #8. Continuing the group's success, the album went platinum. Xscape's last album together was Traces of My Lipstick, released in 1998. Its single 'The Arms Of The One Who Loves You' reached #4 on the R&B charts and #7 on the Hot 100. The second single 'My Little Secret' had similar success, reaching #2 on the R&B charts and #9 on the Hot 100. Like the earlier albums, Traces went platinum. In a strange twist of things, Xscape parted ways after their third album's release. Most artists continue on and release several less successful albums before calling it quits but all of Xscape's albums went platinum. The girls of Xscape went on to their own solo careers with varying success. In 1998 they releasd the last Xscape albulm with all the original members. Then in 2005 after a five year hiatus, sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott reunited with Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. They replaced Kandi Burruss with Kiesha Miles, to release a new album Unchained. They released the single, "What's Up. Life After Xscape Tamika released a gospel album called "God's Gift" and is married with a daughter. Scott released the single, "Day & Night" in Japan. She also appeared in the 2004 Tyler Perry play "Meet the Browns" as Millet Jenay Baptiste-Brown. She has written, produced, and arranged four songs for and is featured as a solo artist on the Tyler Perry movie soundtrack, "Daddy's Little Girls". The soundtrack was released January 16, 2007, on Atlantic Records. She also appeared on the soundtrack for Perry's film "Why Did I Get Married?" LaTocha Recorded a solo album "Solo Flight 404" and is married with a son. LaTocha song- "Liar, Liar' was featured on the album 'Best Man' soundtrack.She's made appearances on Jermaine Dupri's "All That's Got To Go", J-Shin's "One Night Stand", Cha Cha's "Dear Diary", and Trick Daddy's "Thug Holiday" She has since released another album "Life Goes On" Kandi Burruss has the most solo success as a singer and songwriter. She has written for artists such as Mariah Carey, TLC, Destiny's Child, *NSYNC, Boyz II Men, Faith Evans, and Alicia Keys. In 1999, she appeared on Sole's debut album and was also in a video for the album titled, 4,5,6. In 2000, Columbia Records released her solo debut, Hey Kandi…, which featured the hit song, "Don't Think I'm Not". She is also responsible for discovering male R&B quartet Jagged Edge. In 2006, she released "I Need", featuring Eightball & MJG from an upcoming solo album UpFront Records. She is also featured on E-40's hit "U and That", and performs under the name "Kandi Girl." In 2007, she formed a duo, Peach Candy, with MC Rasheeda. She is working on an upcoming album. Tameka wrote the song 'No Scrubbs' along with Kandi. She has a son. Tameka "Tiny" Cottle Tiny along with Kandi Burruss, wrote TLC's 1999 hit, "No Scrubs", in which Tiny lends her vocals, singing the hook of "No Scrubs". Cottle also sings background vocals to Lil' Kim's song, "I Know You See Me", on Lil Bow Wow's single, "Let's Get Down", and on 8Ball & MJG's, "Things We Used To Do". Cottle has been in the studio working on tracks for a future album and has been producing more tracks for her new group, the Ga.p Girls, with former replacement Xscape member Keisha "Babi" Miles. While in the group, Tiny was dating and got impregnated by a drug dealer who was later arrested and served 10 years in prison.She had a Daugther Zonnique Pullins. After the demise of the group, Tiny stayed in the music business by becoming a songwriter, In 2006 Tiny(Lil Mama) and Kiesha(Babi) of Xscape have come together to form Ga. P(Georgia Peach). Blending sweet melodies, sultry vocals, and street lyrics, their sound is smooth and sexy but all about real life. Their goal is to create music that the ladies can dance to and the fellas can ride to. Coming from a four girl group, Ga. P is a new but pleasant experience and although it's just the two of them, there is definitely no void in this duo. She's also rapper Tip Harris aka T.I.’s on and off GF for the last six years,his fiancée for two years and baby mama of their two sons Clifford Harris III (known as "King" born 2005 and Major Harris born in 2008.On March 21, 2007, Cottle gave birth to her second child with T.I, a stillborn baby girl. The couple named the child Leiah Amore. On October 13, 2007, both Cottle and T.I were arrested in Atlanta. Cottle was charged with possession of marijuana and ecstasy, and released on $100,000 bail the following day.Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and her best friend Antonia "Toya" Carter{Ex-wife of Lil Wayne} star in a BET reality show “Tiny & Toya” , which premiered on June 30, 2009. In 2008 there was a rumours Sisters Tamika and Latocha Scott–formerly of Xscape–have teamed up with Keyshia Cole’s manager Manny to develop their new reality show called "Life After Xscape" No word on when or what channel it will air on.

~Changing Faces~ Changing Faces is comprised of Cassandra Lucas of East Harlem, New York and Charisse Rose of Bronx, New York. The two girls met one another while studying at New York's Music and Art High School. Even so, the girls went their separate ways to pursue degrees at different universities with Lucas studying sociology at Hunter College and Rose studying criminal justice at John Jay. Nevertheless, both girls maintained an active interest in music and reunited when hired to do supporting vocals on tour with Sybil. The girls stuck with Sybil for two years before they made up their minds to go their own way and formed the duo Changing Faces. They worked nights together recording a demo tape but it was only when Kenny Smoove of Spoiled Rotten heard the girls singing on the street that they were signed. The group's self-titled debut album had the support of R. Kelly who wrote and produced the album's first two singles, 'Stroke You Up' and 'Foolin.'' Released in 1994, the album was driven by the strength of the aforementioned singles and went gold. 'Stroke You Up,' the first single, went platinum and reached #3 on the Hot 100. 'Foolin' Around,' the album's second single, reached #9 on the R&B charts. In 1997, the group followed up their debut with the album All Day All Night. The album featured the hit single, 'G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T.' which is the group's only #1 R&B single to date. The single was produced by Kelly and went platinum, helping the album to gold status. Their last album, Visit Me, was released in 2000 and failed to make a significant impact on the charts. The album’s best single, ‘That Other Woman,’ reached #16 on the R&B charts.
