@ Deji

Thx so much. I used it on my bed most of the time but I've stop cos whenever it gets so hot,it kept shutting down itself.
I gonna try what you recommend rite away.I will let you know when I'm done. Thx once again.

My PC just crash so I had to restart . ok , you try that and let us know the outcome. after that of course here another test to prove if it is software or hardware problem. after you follow my previous instructions

make sure the laptop is running through the mains turn off back on please dont wait for anything keep pressing f2 or Delete key until you come to blue screen Bios setup utility leave the computer here for an hour wait make sure is running through the mains though if it shutdown on that blue screen then that will pointing towards mechanical fault with the laptop if doesnt shutdown then is just a case of reinstalling your system back to scracth.

Good luck bro

@pc busayo : the error read Yahoo messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close.we are sorry for the inconvenience
Thanks
You need to format your computer and install fresh windows. I'd have advised that you reload it but it wouldn't work anyway. On an easier mode, try installing a lower version of yahoo messenger -- yahoo messenger v6 and see if it does the same thing; and if that is the case with that version, you need to format and install fresh windows.

Black_Revo:

@theseeker you can try kasperskey.
I have bought the 2010 Suite. I think it's cool though, a lot better than the former ones I used to know.
lightwalk:

@the seeker, I once had that kinda problem. Had to use advanced windows care to remove it. i think you can also use an advanced uninstaller
Thanks a lot man. I have formatted the hard drive, partitioned it and installed different windows on both partitions. It hasn't crashed since then, and I have just installed Kaperskey. McAfee must have had some new problems, unfortunately, I didn't find out until very lately and this has been going on for almost a year now. Lost about 2 laptops in the process angry angry

@Nearest: source is directly from google, all the best

System Restore tab may be missing in My Computer Properties. Also, when you start System Restore (rstrui.exe), you receive this message:

"System Restore has been turned off by group policy. To turn on System Restore, contact your domain Administrator."

-or-

System Restore Properties page says disabled by Group Policy

Note: For a Windows Vista version of this article, see Restore point creation disabled by Group Policy.

Resolution
1. Click Start, Run and type regedit.exe and press Enter

2. Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ SystemRestore

In the right-pane:

•Delete the value DisableConfig
•Delete the value DisableSR
3. Exit the Registry Editor.

In Windows XP Professional, you can accomplish the above using Group Policy Editor as well.

1. Click Start, Run and type GPEDIT.MSC

2. Navigate to this path:

-> Computer Configuration
--> Administrative Templates
---> System
----> System Restore

3. Set Turn off System Restore to Not Configured

4. Set Turn off Configuration to Not Configured

More Information
Turn off System Restore corresponds to DisableSR registry value. With this Policy is turned ON, the System Restore tab may be missing in My Computer Properties. Also, when you run System Restore (rstrui.exe), you receive this message:

System Restore has been turned off by group policy. To turn on System Restore, contact your domain Administrator.

Turn off Configuration corresponds to DisableConfig registry value. With this Policy turned ON, the System Restore tab will remain displayed but the user cannot configure the SR options. It reads disabled by Group Policy.

Good luck (Deji Sunday)

check to see if the power button is flashing, if so then is just a case of pressing the power button for 20 seconds and see if will turn off. if no joy then disconnect battery+charger and other pheripherals attach to the laptop hold your finger down on the power button for 30 seconds to discharge static build up then test

Good luck

Those file showing are not virus. there are music album information which sometime display the picture of the artist while playin de song. they are suppose to be hidden files but ur hidden files are enable.
if u delete them those album picture will disappear.

Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by specimenx(m): 2:43am On Oct 01, 2009
as for xsay post, i use hp pavillion dv6000 and this is somthing i have noticed for quite some times.
first, i see the antivirus might have somthing to do with that I.e. due to its weakness and external hardware like flash from someone else can also be the cause. the last one happened to me immediatly i removed a flash drive i just used from my pc. u can still enjoy your pc cos i dont think any damage is really done cos that process is not easily reversable and attempt to delete some of those files will surely get your pc crashed. just avoid external media to the best to prevent those additional folders, use updated antiviruses and update your windows software regularly whenever you have your next format.

@Xsay: quite interesting, and funny too
I expected you will give deji a reply to his claims because this is really weird
I wonder why someone would bother the trouble involved in writing this kind of stupid virus. At first I thought it could be mere icon replacement, but the marks are all different. Can you give me a snapshot of the processes running on your system? Write it down or something. If your task manager is blocked, try 'tasklist' in command prompt. Just open command prompt and type in tasklist. Please I am expecting a feedback.
Thanks
