a lot of apps pull updates or refresh in the background, consuming data without you doing anything or knowing. one way to conserve data is set non essential apps to not update automatically and not to pull data or not to use cellular data, only Wifi.

if you have 20 apps updating 50mB average, that's 1GB


this might explain the problem especially if you have many apps on your phone.

I quite understand u, but i dont think this is the issue with this data fraud nowadays, av always had d same set of apps and worst i do is sub twice a month to glo 3gb, that's 6gb a month, but nowadays, i am doing 3gb in a freaking week!, that too cos i use wifi during d day, the point is, this was what made me drop airtel long time ago, 2 gb finishes in a week, now glo is doing same, i gave up on mtn crap a loooong time ago, cant really vouch for etisalat either.... *sigh*
