I dont believe this for one second. I was born into a christian home too and i know how extremely easy it is to simply walk away from the bible. Infact its WAY MORE DIFFICULT to dedicate time to read the bible and pray than it is to do the exact opposite.

The lies you deluded goons keep telling yourselves so that you can sleep at night. The fact that you are afraid of the lies written by ancient fools who thought that it was good to kill an entire town and sacrifice all its inhabitants as burnt offering unto their god does not mean others are afraid of any such imaginary deities that never existed.

Sure you need to keep on deluding yourself into thinking that those that do not believe in your fairy tales are afraid and will definately suffer for it. How else will the delusion continue if there is no heaven for you and your deluded friends to go to and a hell for all those that do not share the delusion to go to and suffer forever . All this many many lies is what keeps your holding onto the myths, lies, imaginations and fantasies of ancient old men who thought it was right to rape young girls because their parents belonged to another tribe or worshiped a different  deity.

David i say you are sometimes not very truthful with your arguments ( i did not say you lie), but how many children can tell their parents that they want to change denominations, not to talk of changing religions. Worst still what will befall the child of a born again if the child  tells the parent he/she does not believe in God anymore. I can imagine what will happen to the child. Even a fully grown man has a difficult time letting his parents know he does not believe in the Bible.

You also have the fear thing upside down, it is you Christians that live by fear, atheists in spite of  all the threats of both Gods and Devils wrath still do not fear, if they do they would have allayed that fear by succumbing to the treats long ago. I sleep so peacefully at night, and i have not had a Nightmare since my youth days, so please tell me what i need to fear.

Enoch "disappeared because God took him" is what u showed me, when u claimed he "ascended into heaven" . And we were debating how that pointed to an afterlife in the old testament. No where in the stories about Enoch and Elijah are they used to suggest an afterlife of heaven or hell for mankind. They never even died. The whole going to heaven/ hell at the end times was a relatively new idea around the time of Jesus and Paul (started to show up in the later writing in the old testament). God had no such agreement with Abraham, nor Moses, nor David, nor Solomon, nor Elijah, nor Enoch.

Its not rocket science . . . the bible clearly points out (as you also say) that God took Enoch. The question is to where? Well from the bible we know another example of someone God took - Elijah and it was to heaven. Where else do you think God too Enoch? to your bedroom?

Not only is this stupid, it is a lie! If heaven was a relatively new idea around the time of Jesus and Paul then why would 2 Kings 2:11 record this - [size=13pt]11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.[/size]

Note that this occured at least 1000 yrs BEFORE either Jesus or Paul . . . so if heaven was a new idea then how come the prophets and people of Israel already knew of this heaven 1000 yrs before?
